The service is okay, it's just the little things I tend to notice. The staff in the back that takes care of the initial vision assessments were okay. Dr.Etter, the new physician, is ok as well. Maybe being so used to an eye doctor who provided my vision care for over 30 years and is now gone is a difficult void for another doctor to fill for me at this time. All in all, I will continue to come here until a time I feel that I may need to move on to another provider.

I came in for an emergency appt after being in an accident and stated I wasn't at fault. In the…read moremiddle of my appt, a lady named Cindy from billing came in the back and wanted $200 and told me to pay it now, and request reimbursement from my insurance, this is AFTER I'm in the back being seen, provided insurance and claim numbers. I paid $200 out of pocket because they refused my insurance. And the dr wanted a follow up visit in a week. I contacted the front desk, got an appt for tomorrow, and asked what the expectation was and front desk told me $130 for follow up visits. I asked to speak with billing, reached the same Cindy, and from the very start of the call, she was interrupting me, yelling over me, extremely rude after I just wanted clarity on what the out of pocket expense is. I requested a supervisor, she claims she is the supervisor. And I said the way she speaks to people is inappropriate. She claimed I never provided insurance information. I gave the info to her in writing the day of. She had everything and I was forced to pay anyway. At this point, i asked her if she had any proof in writing she informed me she would bill my insurance, and she said no. Obviously not, because I paid. I asked to cancel the appt. She refused to cancel my appointment and decided to be petty and ask me for an email in writing stating I want the appointment canceled. I asked her why she needs an email and her response was "you asked me for something in writing so I'm asking you." That is the rudest associate I have ever encountered in my entire life, and I will never recommend this facility. You don't know how to speak to people and you shouldn't be working in billing.

Very little post-operative care required, except a schedule of various eyedrops. Everyone at the surgery center was kind, helpful and attentive.

Follow that sign, state the patients name in the speaker, and park in the free lot. While waiting, we walked to Popeyes for lunch. Only one person enters with the patient for drop off and pick up. I was the more than willing driver. The patient was well cared for and the surgery was a success!

I then made an appointment with Johns Hopkins Eye Center in Columbia MD and they were outstanding with extensive testing of my condition and stating a solution. I sought a second opinion with Dr. Repka at Johns Hopkins after having a mediocre experience with…read moremy daughter's pediatric ophthalmologist in York, PA (where I lived before moving to CA last year). It's only a 25-30 minute drive south to the Wilmer Eye Institute and our experience with him was phenomenal. The wait time was never long, 10-15 minutes max, which was important when bringing a one-year-old in for appointments. They have a separate waiting area for kids with toys and books, and all of the nurses and Dr. Repka have an excellent rapport with kids - not just my daughter, but her big brother (who was 5 at the time and worried about his little sister's upcoming surgery). Dr. Repka immediately affirmed that my daughter needed to have surgery and scheduled her a few weeks out. He was very reassuring to all of us as we approached the surgery and especially the morning of, when we had to be at JH's surgery center downtown. Both parents and big brother were allowed to wait with her in the pre-op area prior to the surgery. The surgery was successful and we had three great follow-up appointments. At the time of the third appointment, we told Dr. Repka we were moving to San Diego and he referred us to several of his colleagues for continued care. I just wanted my daughter to have the best care possible, and was very glad I made the decision to see Dr. Repka. There is not one thing I would change about the experience with this doctor or the Wilmer Eye Institute.

I really like going to see Dr. Baskaran. He's not the type to pump you full of medication. He's…read morereally friendly and it doesn't feel like he rushes you at all. The waiting room is pretty small and not really nice looking and I've had to wait 30 minutes even with an appointment, but I would not think fo going to another doctor.
