Chef Izolda Miranda and her amazing mobile kitchen!

Debating on going to trivia... check out the food truck that's going to be there. After looking at the menu and seeing pictures, it was a sure thing we were going to find Sambas Cuisine. We started with the beef empanada, which was so delicious we didn't have time to take a photo. I feel like a good way to judge a Latin-inspired food truck is through their empanadas.. and Chef Izolda's didn't disappoint. Everything that can later followed suit. I had the Fish and Chips and my girlfriend had the Fried Chicken. It was a little bit of a wait, but well worth it. Everything was incredibly fresh, fried and juicy perfection, and packed with flavor. All the sauces were A1 compliments -- the garlic sauce was so good I actually almost fell over when I took my first bite. We stopped to pay our compliments to the chef on the way out and she exuded joy, gratitude, and passion for her craft. We will definitely will return!

Checked out sambas food truck recently at gastropark. Got the fish tacos and the fish and chips . FANTASTIC!!! So much flavor and so much food!!! The fish had such a terrific crunch and zest. Definitely looking forward to checking them out again.

Know Good Food market of food trucks had its last opening on Bartholomew Street. The Carne Frita con Tostones was highlighted on their menu board. I was starved so tried this. The tostones were great and there were five of these big babies right out of the fryer. The carne frita was, however, a different story. The meat was very irregular and real tough. The mayo/ketchup sauce helped but didn't finish [a new one for me].

The food from this truck was both affordable and delicious. I was worried it would be super greasy but it wasn't. Everything was well seasoned. My personal favorite was the Carioca balls which were a meat filled ball breaded and rolls in cinnamon sugar. It was a delicious and unique combination. The woman who was working the truck was super friendly and helpful when we ordered. Remember to bring cash so you can tip your food truck operators.

House Special: Carne Frita, Vegetables, Yellow Rice, French Fries, Lime, and Sauce

Despite the large crowd and super long lines at this food truck event, I was still able to get my food accordingly. Man this line was super long yet they're handling all the orders quickly, throughly, and consistently. The lady taking orders was quick and friendly as well. The prices are also relatively cheap for what you get. My meal was the House Special at $12. It consisted of fried pork, yellow rice, vegetables, french fries, lime and sauce. It was absolutely delicious. My 5 to 10 minute wait was WELL worth it and that waiting time is considerably pristine knowing how busy they were. Everything I had in my meal went perfect together and everything was just so familiar. Comfort food at its best, I ate the whole thing not one grain of rice left. Amazing quality, quick/friendly service, tasty food, what is there not to like?

Unbelievably good fish and chips! Perfect seasoning, lightly battered and not flaky at all. Best fish in chips I've had in years.

$13 for fried chicken that tastes like a dirty fryer, never again. Not worth the money!

The hostess at the front desk seemed visibly annoyed when we checked in. She was impatient, dismissive with her gestures, and even rolled her eyes in front of us. I don't know if it was because we were a family with children or for some other reason, but it made us feel very unwelcome. Honestly, we were close to leaving. Our kids were hungry and tired, so we decided to stay and give the restaurant a chance. Thankfully, the gentleman who served our table completely changed the experience. He was friendly, professional, and patient. He took the time to explain the menu, answer our questions, and recommend some of the restaurant's popular dishes. His attitude made us feel welcomed and appreciated as guests. The food was very good. We enjoyed the seafood paella, grilled octopus, broccolini, cheese plate, and several other tapas. The flavors were great, and the dishes were well prepared. The kitchen and our server delivered a much better experience than the one we received at the front desk. Management should pay attention to how guests are greeted because first impressions matter. The hostess nearly convinced us to leave. The server convinced us to stay.

Our meeting with 17 women and 8 Hartford Police officers who came to answer our questions about personal and Internet safety was a positive experience, led by our friend Hyacinth Yennie. This community activist spends her time at the Senior Citizen Wellness Center down the street, where she leads activities and trips for older residents of the neighborhood. Delicious food, attentive service, and affordable prices made this restaurant a positive choice for our monthly support group meeting. The hors d'oeuvres, sandwiches, and desserts hit the spot while we engaged with South End police officers who answered our questions about safety and gave short, helpful talks. All in all, it was a positive experience. We will return for the delicious Spanish food and the excellent service from the wait staff. Thank you, Lo Sano, for a wonderful dining experience. We actually didn't know anything about and what they served. Inside was beautifully decorated and we were seated quickly. We looked at the menu and saw they served Peruvian food. We never had it. We started with the trio empanadas and each one was delicious. If I had to choose one I pick the chicken as the top empanada. I didn't know what to order for the entree and the waiter recommended the Seco De Tría and Lomo Saltado. One was a short rib and the other was a beef stir fry. Both were very delicious! The beef empanadas were flavorful and satisfying, while the cheese and guava had more of a sweet, dessert-like vibe, which was a nice surprise. Both were delicious in their own way. I also loved the roasted corn they serve at the table. It is such a great touch. The dipping sauce had a nice little kick to it that added extra flavor without being overwhelming. The space itself is beautifully decorated, creating a really inviting atmosphere, and they even have a drive through, which is super convenient. On top of it all, the service was excellent. I would definitely come back, even if it is just for a quick bite again!
