The food here is authentic Brazilian food and it's made to order so that's always a plus . Service is always 100% welcoming and warm , I've been coming to park like market for 3 years in a row now and the food gets better and better . Definitely recommend!!

Steak combo with rice and veggies

I always get the same thing at Parkville market because other times I strayed I did not like what I got. But I'm SO GLAD I tried something different today because Brazilian Gula Grill --it will be my new Parkville obsession. THE SERVICE -although it's just counter service, everyone was very friendly! I left feeling happy after my interaction. THE FOOD -I ordered the combo and it was SO DELICIOUS!!!! - I hate onions but got the veggie side anyway because it looked good in the pics. For my fellow onion haters you can know they were easy to pick out. -the steak was cooked to my liking and although there were like 2 fatty pieces it was only noticeable because it was difficult to cut through with my plastic knife -the veggies were cooked perfectly. Amazing char and just the right amount of crisp. -the sauces were the extra it factor this dish needed. I got the green sauce on top and the hot sauce on the side. It was the perfect combo for me I highly recommend ordering from here! The smoothies looked really good too.

My meal this week at Brazilian Gula Grill ("BGG") was mixed. The pineapple salsa and tortilla chips were terrific. BGG freshened up the tortillas on the spot. The salsa order was huge. It came in a long sandwich shaped container, and consisted of chopped pineapple, green and red pepper, red onion and some chopped herbs. The salsa was sweet, but not too sweet, and on the mild side. I don't know the type of peppers they used. Maybe a green bell pepper and a red Fresno pepper? I detected a mild capsaicin element. In any event, the pineapple salsa was delicious, and you should definitely order this for your table on a hot day. I also ordered the two meat lunch special with grilled chicken, grilled sirloin, white rice and beans. At around $11, there was a lot of food for the money. The chicken and the white rice were fine. The chicken seems like it was pounded to make it grill evenly, marinaded and/or rubbed with some sort of mildly seasoned concoction and then grilled. The texture and flavor were OK. I was not a fan of the sirloin steak or the beans. The steak had nice grill marks. At this price point, I was not expecting a ribeye or a strip, but the preparation of the sirloin lacked the finesse needed to ensure a non-chewy steak. When I've had Brazilian style meats in the past, they were seasoned, marinated, cooked over a longer of period of time and/or cut to ensure a more enjoyable texture and flavor. I also think that the steak was cooked past its ideal temperature and/or not allowed to rest long enough before they sliced it. The steak, chicken and beans each needed more salt before and/or during cooking for better flavor. Cooking is largely about deciding the relevant proportions of saltiness, sweetness, sourness and/or bitterness and what other seasoning to use. I couldn't detect any such choices concerning the steak and beans, and the result is that they lacked flavor, or even a point of view. Perhaps BGG was having an off day. In this regard, on my prior strolls through Parkville Market, I noticed a person at BGG who seemed to have a significant role and he wasn't there. But on this day, I have to give Brazilian Gula Grill a 3.

This place is inside Parkville Market food hall. Fried plantains were my favorite here. Pineapple salsa was a nice tangy twist to the concept of salsa. Beef kabab was good for the entree. Coxinhas (chicken croquet) was a good appetizer. It had good flavor. Beef pastel, which I think is the Brazilian version of empanada was ok as well. For drink, I went with cashew juice. It was good. Passion fruit or guava would have been better, but still a new juice to try.

On our most recent visit to Parkville Market, my fiancé ordered the Picanha from Brazilian Gula Grill. He asked for medium rare, and they delivered! The steak was perfectly cooked, super flavorful, and tender. Even the rice and pineapple salsa on the side were delish. The steak came out quickly, and I appreciated that they provide you with real silverware so that you don't have to struggle to eat the steak. Very impressed and one of new favorite vendors at Parkville now!

Fantastic experience here today the employees are great and the service fast . Lunch specials are 10.00 for one meat and a side (listed) . I couldn't believe they had a whole steak with rice as a option . I ordered the steak with white rice and veggies . While I was waiting the owner (assuming) made me and my friend a Mango frozen juice sample . It was so delicious. Later ,I tried the cashew juice which is ontop of my list to come back for . It's so tasty !!!!! Wow, they grilled up peppers, zucchini, squash and broccoli it was so darn good . They steak I ordered medium was nice and juicy . I could barely finish the whole meal ,so he gave me bags and we took them home for later to enjoy . I wanted to try the Pineapple salsa with fresh cooked chips ,so they brought it out to me and when I saw the chips were dark he immediately cooked some more and less salt . Make sure you ask for them light with no salt. That is gonna be the best choice for that amazing salsa. The menu here is pretty big ,so order something each week I know I am ......

    Feijoada

I loved my meal here! I got the Feijoada and it was so flavorful. The meat was slow cooked and super soft. It had a lot of delicious bacon-y flavor, and I loved how soft the plantains were with a touch of crisp on the edges. I was very happy with my decision here since the Parkville Market is overwhelming and loud & I have a hard time deciding what to go for.

WOW ... WOW... WOW…read more. We were in the area and decided to try something new , came across this place and went in to check it out , here is how it went : Upon entering we were greeted by Jonas and an AMAZINGGGGGGGG bartender named Will . Will is simply the best , polite, professional, positive energy and outstanding customer service . He goes out of his way to make sure everything is perfect , we sat at the bar and had some delicious appetizers seasoned to perfection . I'm am Brazilian and I have been to MANY Brazilian steakhouses but this one topped them all and the didn't even try the rodizio. The whole vibe just makes you want to stay as long as you can , the only issue with that is that you will probably weight 100lbs more by the time you leave haha !! Everything is just so good . Jonas was very attentive and always asking if we needed anything else . An absolute amazing experience , we will definitely go back to enjoy other selections . Ohh and let me tell you their passion fruit caipirinha was awesome . If you want class, great customer service and great food definitely pay this guys a visit . You will not regret .

So our friends kept telling us about Banana Brazil, but I had been hesitant because it's pay per pound, instead of a full service buffet. But having visited today, the math checks out - Banana Brazil is a STEAL. Let's start off with the obvious - the location is rough and parking is terrible. But after jaywalking, my friends and I walked in to a shabby-looking hole in the wall. To the left are paper plates (for eat-in) and aluminum plates (for to-go). Don't worry that there's no covers, they'll put it on for you at the cashier. It's buffet-style, pick whatever, just know you're paying per pound. All I got was rice because the main event is the steak. Loads of choices, sliced to bite size pieces. I got the top sirloin and garlic beef. My plate and a canned mango drink came to about $18. When you stop to compare this to a fancy churrasco, you're really just cutting to the chase. You're not waiting for the top sirloin to come to you to eat a few slices, then wait a couple of minutes for another dish to come by. At Banana Brazil, get all you want and eat - it's that simple. I will be back - and loading up $50 worth of meat next time!

Very poor experience and bad food. Pricing options were very confusing, and complicated. The main…read morebuffet line they have out is $11.49 a pound, and then the meat behind the counter is $16.49. I took about a pound and a half from the buffet of the beef stew, chicken, rice, plantains, and tomato salad, and a cheese ball. Then I ordered separately the meat behind the counter. The more expensive meat that was supposed to be medium rare was incredibly gamy, hard to swallow and quite under seasoned. Not good at all. That was a waste. The beef stew was also under seasoned, the sauce lacked flavor, and taste. This was softer, it was fine meat but nothing that should be restaurant grade. The rice resembled a sea. Someone dumped way too much salt in, it was dreadful. The tomato salad was not salted, and had no dressing, a lackluster item. The plantains were not crisp as they should be. The cheese bread ball, a cheese flavored rock. Worthless. Lastly to the chicken which was the brightest spot, it was nice and soft and juicy, perhaps the only good thing on that whole buffet line. And this didnt come close to cutting it for me. As if I wanted more I would have to keep on paying and I was already $30 down. I never intended to spend so much. The pricing seems fair but once you start eating, you will go though plates and have to stop yourself before the bill is in the $40 plus dollar range. It makes no sense why they charge per pound and not just do one charge and it be ayce. Charging 11.49 for rice or beans, at 11.49 at the same price as the beef stew is ridiculous. The sauces that they have also are all mass produced processed junk. They didn't taste fresh. Terrible waste of money, won't be back find literally any other restaurant to go to. Another thing, this restaurant had flags around there store, I believe for the world cup, you would think this is fine and dandy however in the front of the store a freaking NORTH KOREA flag was hung up, and get this, it went right next to a Russia, China & Iran flag!!! This is a massive naivety, even though I don't believe it was deliberate it is unacceptable.

Their lineup offers nine entrees served with two sides ($12-$19) and eight solo sides ($6-$7). The entrees are three kabob plates (Churrasquinho) with a half pound of chicken, pork or beef and two sides, steak, salmon or stew specialties, and two vegetarian options. I wanted to try their Feijoada ($15) "The Most Popular Brazilian Dish" - an enticing stew of black beans, sausage, bacon, beef, rice, plantains and kale. But it wasn't available right away and I didn't want to wait 20 minutes for it to get cooked up. Instead, I went for an order of Churrasquinho with Chicken and sides of Kale and Yucca fries for $16. It was delicious!! Everything on the plate was delicious. The grilled chicken was tender and flavorful with nice grill marks. It was stellar. The Yucca fries were very good too, yes, they tasted a lot like French Fries, but the texture and taste were slightly different. And the kale surprised me a lot -it was soft and tender and delicious, nothing like the cardboard or Styrofoam-like kale I had experience with. The crowning glory of my lunch came when the cook asked "Do you want some of our hot sauce?" Of course I did, and he handed me a quarter cup plastic container of beige/orange sauce. Prepare yourself before you try it because it is nuclear! Of course I loved it. I also liked the way the owner walked over during my meal and asked how I liked it. We exchanged some banter about his hot sauce! The Gulla Grille was a hit for me.
