Our old garage door/opener came with our old house when we bought it. The whole system was very old (90's I believe) functioned okay for couple of months before one of the springs snapped last year. Nick came out and did the needed repairs, but cautioned us that while the replaced springs will last for a long time to come, the old motor might not last the year. Well, just last week the old motor blew out and I called Nick again. My hopes weren't all that high for our old garage door opener motor, but Nick attempted to revive it nontheless. The problem ended up being on the main board of the unit and parts that were no longer manufactured. Even though it was later in the day, and in winter it gets dark so quickly, Nick got the tear down of the old system and installation of the new system done. Wow!! Nick is a true professional. He was right on time, had everything he needed with him when he showed up and was extremely efficient. Unfortunately, I ended up needing Nick's services again, almost exactly a year after he first came out! No issue with his fixes... it's that the doors were installed by the previous owner and he didn't do the best job of it. It took a while for us to be able to find a time that worked for both of us, but since he couldn't accommodate me one week he made time the next week in the evening, which was really appreciated. When he came out, he made an adjustment, told me that it was probably going to happen again, and that we could throw some money at it and replace some components, otherwise we'd have to replace the entire door, which costs quite a bit. He didn't push doing either... in fact, he wouldn't even let me pay him, since he spent so little time on the job (the fix was quite easy for someone who knew what they were doing). I hope the temporary fix lasts a long time, but if it doesn't, I'll certainly call him when it comes time to do a more permanent fix or replacement. Highly recommended! read more

Nick came out to our place today to fix our garage door this morning. The cable to our garage door broke and when I tried to fix it myself, I made it worse by pulling the door off the track! I also managed to break the internal opener. It was around 8:30pm, I called and Nick picked up and said he could be there first thing in the morning as my wife's car was stuck in the garage. Our garage door was coming off the rail on one side so finally I called Same Day Doors (Nick) based on yelp reviews. Nick came out a day or so later, took about 30 seconds to figure out that the rollers were worn out, and had a packet of new ones in his truck. Took him maybe 1/2 hour to fix and it's been working great since! I also would totally give more than five stars if possible! Nick came quickly. solved the problem rapidly, pointed out some moving parts that would need replacement in the next year or two (clearly rusty and worn), which I went ahead and had him replace in addition to fixing the main problem he came to solve. We backed our SUV into our garage door before it was fully open. Oops. We looked up Same Day Doors on Yelp and contacted Nick to see if he could come out that evening. He was great! He came out a few hours later, examined the damage, gave us our options and his recommendation, that the door be replaced but the motor that raises and lowers it didn't need to be. Due to the more rare color we wanted we weren't able to get the door replaced that day because it had to be ordered. Nick helped us get the car out and secure the door while we waited a couple weeks for our door to come in. On the day he installed it, he was prompt, did excellent work and we had a beautiful new working door in no time! He was professional, friendly, and gave a very fair price - much less than we expected to pay.
