Found this cobbler really close to my neighborhood and needed two pairs of boots repaired. Sam greeted us when we arrived and said he could repair both without any concern. He had the appropriate glue for the sole of the first pair and had new insoles for the second. They are CASH ONLY so they calculate the price right in front of you with a hand written spreadsheet. They had the boots finished quickly and I picked them up the following week. Overall they were repaired but I did notice drips in the polish which had cured. Sam is an older man and it's noticeable that his eyes may be going with age so details are hard for him to see. It is admirable and commendable that he's still working at his age. If you're bringing in your favorite shoes, I might consider another store. This is a good place to bring pairs you aren't super attached to but want to extend their life. Sam's son was there during our visit and I'm sorry to see he isn't able to help with the technical pieces for his father. He mentioned he doesn't know the trade like his dad. The "Open" sign was burned out and the neon sign has also stopped working at the front. Overall a good experience but certainly showing some signs of age and slowing down. I hope they stick around but understand if Sam wants to retire one day in the near future. read more

Bottom Line: they are skilled and take pride in their trade. I'm on my feet all day and last year I found a pair of boots that fit beautifully. I wore the rubber off both heels and the inside of the heel had a plastic frame that fell apart too. I had them by the back door to throw away and then thought "let me see if they can be fixed". Sure enough they are like new - for $20. I am so happy to have my boots back!! Took in some Cowboy boots to be conditioned. $15 and they look and feel great. Just took in 2 pairs of dress slacks. They had too much of a flair / bell bottom. I had to have them tapered. They had to take the seam apart on both sides of both legs and trim and re-sew. $32. Well worth it!! Bottom Line: they do a great job on shoe repairs and alterations and it feels good to help a small local Mom & Pop business! read more

On our way to Tallahassee in September and stopped in Orlando to visit my boyfriends sister . He needed some shoes shined and fixed and I looked up shoe repairs in the area. Saw a few that were farther away, but thankfully Sami's was the closer to me ! Walked in and met the owner & his wife, such lovely people and I could tell immediately how genuine they were. And not to mention the owner, he is a math wiz! He literally calculated the amount plus tax ! front part of my shoes was coming undone, something a simple glue fix could repair. what i got back looked worse than what i had before. based upon the product i received i can tell the person who "attempted" to fix my shoe didn't have one ounce of pride in their work. highly don't recommend unless you want your shoes looking worse than when you walked in. read more

This man performs wonders! I have high-end shoes that needed some work and Sami over-delivered. Instead of letting these expensive shoes sit in the closet (and not having the heart to give them away or sell them), I opted to see what Sami could do to make them wearable. I've worn my pair of black Louboutins twice and each time I immediately regretted the decision since I would be in so much pain. Now, I can finally wear them with comfort! Stopped in here for a quick heel replacement. Sami was able to do the job right away and within minutes i had what i needed. He even gave the leather some TLC - i admit i haven't taken much care of these heels but my interaction with Sami and his craft, left me feeling a bit shameful in that i can, and will, do better. I must stomp when I walk because I continually need to have my tips replaced on my heels shortly after purchasing them. Thank goodness I found Sami's! This family owned shoe repair did top-notch work to bring my heels back to life (no more clack clack sounds from me). They are very honest, and will let you know if something cannot be repaired or cleaned. I had one pair that needed tips but the patent leather had been stained by ink. While I was standing at the counter, Sami tried some magic but patent & ink do not mix. One less pair I needed to repair. My 3 pairs of heels were returned to me not only with new stronger, more durable tips but the shoes looked brand new. The leather nicely conditioned and all cleaned up on the inside & out. I will definitely be dropping off my shoes for a little love & attention here from now on. So happy I found this gem of a spot. First of all - when looking for a place to get my shoes shined up, I came across virtually no options in Orlando. I'm sure there has to be more, but they need to get their name out there better because I can't be the only one looking for this service. I settled on Sami's because (A) there were practically no other options, and (B) it was somewhat nearby work and he said it would only take a few minutes, so I went there on my lunch break. As a side note, there is a shoe repair shop in Florida mall, but he said he couldn't shine a pair of shoes while I waited, which I thought was ridiculous. His shop is small, but it's absolutely dripping of character. It's a bit cramped and messy, but a 'good' messy, as there are tons of shoes around his shop, some waiting to be restored or resoled, others looking brand new again just waiting to be picked up. Sami immediately comes across as a very genuine older man who knows what he's doing, and who has been honing his craft for a long time. I can assure he didn't get the 5-star rating because he's the only game in town, it's because he's great at what he does. I was close to spending a bunch of money on new brown dress shoes because mine looked a bit worn out. I really like them, however, so before I dropped +$100 on new ones, I figured I'd give one final effort to extend their life - and Sami did it perfectly. And it only cost $6!!! They looked great, and bought me some time until I have to worry about this again. Also, he even mentioned that he could easily and inexpensively (~$15 total, or maybe each) resole my shoes when the time comes. Sami reconstructed the heel on one of my tall, black leather wedge boots and re-soled the other boot to match. He also retouched the back of two black leather heels, which were very worn down, and made them look like new. My third pair of nude, strappy heels got a simple replacement. I came here because of all the good reviews on yelp. I got WAY over charged. Idk why I didn't just walk away and say no thanks like the other 2 customers did (I drove from far away and was expecting spectacular results for how much they were charging). They can tell I was a sucker and just making up prices on the spot. I got charged close to $100 for replacing a heel (just the tip piece, not the whole thing), and new liner. The little piece they replaced is bigger than the original one so it sticks out and looks terrible. The liner was hand cut so the edges are not smooth, it made my shoes look cheap. I really wish I didn't use them. I am hesitant to write a bad review for a mom and pop shop. But I figured if they treat me like a sucker, well. read more

What a nice little place. Friendly and very accommodating. Came here to get new heels on my boots and get them cleaned up and polished. He told me he could have them done in 15 minutes! I was starving so I told him I would be back in an hour and by the time I came back they were done and looking as good as new. It was a little far for me to drive but to have them done so quickly it might be worth it for me to keep going there. The price was reasonable $10.50 a pair. read more

Of all things to do on black Friday with the heels on your feet while on travel in Orlando, we stopped at a random shoe repair place to replace the heels on the wife's shoes. She was prepared to have me carry her back to my car. I wasn't sure if I was. Fortunately the super amazing couple told us to wait right there and that he'd do it on the spot. He replaced the heel, straightened out some ripped leather, spray painted it, and cleaned it. All this was done in 10 minutes as the lovely wife sat all prim and proper in a chair. It wasn't until they were done that the wife of the team noticed that she was barefoot. They were pretty awesome. All this was for a bit under 10 bucks. Cash or check only. That is pretty par for the course. However, the heal that he chose wasn't a great match for the shoe. That's really just nitpicking at this point for such immediate gratification. Sami is amazing!! He is such a kind man. I went on a Saturday and took a name brand purse that had a strap that was way to long. I asked him to make more holes to adjust the strap. He said that wouldn't work and explained why and how it would look. Instead he cut one side of the strap, shortened it and sewed the end. He took maybe five minutes. The strap looked fine. You couldn't tell it had been altered. Make sure to take cash when you go and tip him. read more

I recently needed a repair for my Vibram 5-Fingers (alien-like shoes with separate toes, they're great, but I digress) and found Sami's on Yelp. The previous 5-Star review does not do this place justice. Upon arriving, I was shocked that a such an old-school place like this still exists. Sami and his wife were there, and although they had never seen Vibrams before, he said that he had some ideas on how to fix them. I came back the next day, and he had fixed the tear and told me that it would be $3.00. Yeah, $3.00!!! For a pair of shoes that cost me over $100, that was too good of a deal, so I gave him $10.00 and said to keep the change. He told me that if the shoes ever need repairing again, he would do it for no charge. About a week later, I tore the same spot and brought the shoes back to Sami. He happily fixed them again and, as he promised, did not charge me. I will, without hesitation, go back to Sami's and, if you are interested in saving money on replacing shoes, bags, etc. you should go as well! read more

4.5 stars. Up front and honest. Researched a good shoe maker and drove almost an hour across town to get to this place. Good shoe repair is hard to find and well worth it when you do. Took in a leather belt, Swedish hasbeens to be stretched, and my daughters boots to be salvaged. The minute you walk in it's like you stepped back in time. Large sturdy equipment abounds. After a lengthy consultation we decided not to repair the boots. We also came up with an action plan to extend their life in the future. My tween likes to wear leather shoes like sneakers so they get pretty beat up. They are comfortable and stylish, so for her anything else is not an option. Sami attempted but was unable to repair my belt (promptly refunded me upon pick up). Stretched the shoes and although they are still not all day wear ready, it is to be expected with this particular style of shoe. I will complete the break-in process at home until I achieve the custom fit. The shoes are much improved. Sami and his wife are true craftsman and the service they provide may some day be a lost art.
