Finally took my wife on a date to Mezcal and it did not disappoint. Mezcal has been the talk of our…read moretown since it opened and I can definitely see why. The vibes and ambience take you right out of Old Bridge and throws you into a trendy NYC restaurant and bar. While Mezcal can be considered pricey, their flavors and offerings definitely lives up to the hype. We started with the beluga caviar tasting which was delicious and rich! Way better than the typical sturgeon caviar most restaurants serve. The oysters were also fresh and was served with delicious condiments. For our main entree we ordered the tomahawk for 2, with a side of corn and mashed potatoes. We loved that the steak was served with sea salt on the side that we can sprinkle on every bite. We finished our meal with flan and it was rich and decadent. It definitely put a dent in my wallet but we'll definitely be going back there soon to try their lobster risotto and other steak options! We're also excited to head back for their happy hour on Mondays!

Beautiful space, excellent Mexican food, and great service…read more My family brought me to Mezcal as a surprise, and we were all really impressed. From the moment you walk in, the restaurant makes a great first impression. The décor is beautiful and upscale, but still inviting and there are plenty of great spots for social media pictures. We started with a few lighter appetizers, but they ended up being more than enough. We shared three sets of tacos: the fish, pork, and short rib. Each order comes with two tacos, which makes them perfect for sharing and trying different flavors. The esquites were also really tasty and all paired very well. My daughter had a cheese quesadilla, which she absolutely loved. For drinks, I went with an Old Fashioned (my go to classic) while my wife ordered the "Clock It" mocktail. Both were solid choices. I also appreciated that they brought out boxed water for my daughter, which was a nice touch. What really stood out to me, though, was the service. Our waiter was attentive without being overbearing and made sure we were taken care of throughout the meal. There's also a fairly large bar right at the entrance, so you don't necessarily have to come here for a full meal. I could easily see Mezcal being a great date-night spot or a place to grab drinks and enjoy the atmosphere. There's also plenty of parking in the back, which is always a plus. Overall, I'd definitely come back. Next time, I want to try some of the main dishes. It's a higher-end restaurant, so expect the prices to reflect that, but between the food, atmosphere, service, and presentation, I thought it was well worth the experience.

Did I mention that the did was fresh?! Wow! Mmm! My boyfriend had the combination fajita. He made the same comment... sooo fresh! We almost didn't stay because when we entered the establishment, other than the one family that was already seated at a table, there was no one to be found. Just before I was going to walk out, a young man walked out from the kitchen and told us we could sit where we wanted to. He brought menus and asked us what we'd like to drink. After mentioning a few things that included unsweet iced tea and Pellegrino, we asked for the tea. He returned to say they were out. We then asked for the Pellegrino, but he immediately stated they didn't have any. We opted for the mineral water. We were brought a small tray with chips and salsa. Once again, very fresh and the salsa was amazing. I did have to ask for napkins. All in all, I'll definitely be visiting this restaurant again

We ordered Guacamole and they forgot to add to bill. Instead of comping us the miss, they asked to pay separately.. didn't feel right to me. Ambience is nice, ample free parking. BYOB. Generous portions, tasty.. I'll give this place another chance to see if it gets better.

The place is just as colorful and decorative inside as it is on the outside. They have different specials everyday and during the weekend they offer brunch specials along with bottomless mimosas. On Mondays they have buy 1 get 1 free margaritas. Happy Hour Monday-Thursday and other specials on all the other weekdays. My husband and I got some cocktails, guacamole, I got the chicken fajitas, and my husband got the birria tacos. I loved my espresso martini as it had a chocolate hint too it which I feel many places don't do anymore. My husband got the peach and mango belinni where the mango flavor was stronger than the peach which I loved because I am a mango fan. My husband wished his taco shells for the birria were a bit harder/crunchier but other than that he loved the flavor. I loved my chicken fajiatas as the chicken was still very tender. It also lasted me another 2 meals after this one. Although this place is a little on the pricier side I feel like you get your moneys worth. Plus the service is good and very fast.

There were 6 of us. The waiter gave us a small basket of chips. I asked if it was possible for another basket. He reluctantly said yes but never brought them. We asked another person and they didn't bring them either. My son wanted a steak quesadilla. The waiter said that the steak in the quesadilla was chili rubbed and the only way to have it plain was to get the up-charged $10 steak. That's absurd! My 3 year old would definitely not want a chili rubbed steak. I ordered chicken quesadillas instead. They were just ok. Nothing special. They didn't come with anything so I ordered rice and beans. I found them to be overpriced and not worth it.

After I put my order in, I walked my dog around the block and came back. Food was ready in about 20 min and the worker gave me a free Diet Coke! I tried the shrimp fra diavolo. Omg, so so good! The spicy sauce on it mixed in with the large, well cooked shrimps, Mexican rice and refried beans was godly. Def a heavier dish I couldn't eat everyday, but well worth it! I also tried a chicken taco. Slightly dry/bland - wish they gave me a bit more of their homemade hot sauce that was delicious! But still the taco was very authentic tasting. The guac was HUGE! And extravagant. Super creamy and mostly mixed with onions and cilantro. They gave me a bag of chips on the side. This tiny little spot has a fun inside with a tv, (they played Sabrina the Teenage Witch which was one of my fav shows growing up!), had a juke box, art on the wall and I recognized the Frida painting. A couple customers were inside dining - they had every other table blocked off. I was surprised to see they have Valentina hot sauce on the tables instead of Tapatio - but I guess it's really no big deal. If you're looking for a solid authentic spot in the Central NJ area - and you like spice, DEF TRY THE SHRIMP FRA DIAVOLO!
