I stopped in for lunch today and the two sushi rolls I got were excellent service is great and fast.

I used to love this place. I ordered from it all the time. I ate in many many times. I think they sold it to someone else. The food was horrible. No flavor at all the beef dish was watering it had no real sauce. The beef was tough and hard to chew. I also got an order of moo goo pretty bad looked like the dumped a ton of onions in it to fill the container I had like 4 pieces of chicken. i ordered 6 pork egg rolls. I think I got chicken no flavor. very very disappointed. I guess I need to find another restaurant for take out. Maybe you should get some decent cooks like the old owner, who really new how to cook. We are traveling through from Tennessee. This cute little spot was just off the interstate. The staff was exceptionally friendly, the decor beautiful and unusual. The server helped me choose gluten free options easily. My monster shrimp roll was gorgeous and delicious. The kids' lo mein has an unexpected superior quality. The restrooms were clean, our food was delivered very quickly, and the owner came by with a lollipop for my son when we were finished. I'm so glad we stopped in! read more

Never had bad food. Food is delicious and hot every time. The ONLY thing I would say they could change is their online ordering (Which is awesome) needs all their menu items. Items such as egg rolls and orange chicken are missing and you have to call to order those. If they added those online I would order WAY too often. :) read more

So if I have to dither between four and five stars, I will round up and give Samouen's the High Five. Plover, Wisconsin? Whoda thunk it? We wanted carry-out, and it was hard to find a menu online to phone in an order, but eventually we did and ordered a side order of crab rangoon even though I did notice that each dish came with two already. So that was a total of 10 for the two of us. Do NOT judge me! Every last one was delicious. And, also don't judge me because I got my servings of veg in the multiple spring rolls I devoured. Tasty! I found it interesting that they had some Thai, some Chinese, and apparently some Cambodian dishes on the menu, and you are allowed to specify the level of spice you would like, on all dishes. My wife had pad thai as she always does, ordered it 'mild', and it was still spicy, flavorful and rich with a tinge of peanut flavor that is different from other versions we've had lately. Delicious! I had crispy beef, medium, which was so good I did shed a tear, because Plover is so so far away from home and I got sad knowing it would be probably years before I made my way back here. I have eaten here many times and tonight's meal was horrible!! We ordered a variety of items and asked if we could have it all brought out together. Nope! Crab Rangoon came out first and was not fresh or even warm. I had a veggie egg roll that had an inedible object taking up half the filling. Pork spring roll was not up to par. Like good sports we ate it. We did express our displeasure to the waitress who nicely thanked us for not being mean about it. Some customers yell at her when they don't like the food. She did go back to the kitchen but when our bill came no adjustment was made. Doubt we will ever go back. read more

Samouen's Happy Wok serves 'Thai-style' Asian food. Generally speaking, this means that foods are a little spicer and less 'Americanized' than Asian food from other restaurants. If you don't like food spicy, make sure you specify 'No Peppers' for any dish that you order. If you like your food with a kick of heat and a burst of flavor, I recommend the Chicken, Pork, or Beef (or a combo of these) in Garlic Sauce. Medium heat is hotter here than at other restaurants. "James" hot is a step above medium. It's named after Samouen's husband and its my favorite level of heat. I recommend the Pad Thai and Sesame Chicken dishes here too (Medium or 'James'). All meals come with Crab Rangoon or Kim Chi. I like both, but favor the later. Sweet and Sour Sauce is Yellow here -- not translucent red. It's got good flavor, tho, so there's no need to let that stop you. Happy Wok isn't much to look at. It has a casual dining atmosphere. When we first found this place, we confused it with a poor-quality chinese food chain called 'happy wok' out of the Madison area. Thankfully, it's nothing like its poor-quality namesake. This is my new favorite place in town! You walk in, and right away the staff greet you with bright smiles and friendly service. The food is amazing and full of authentic flavors. They have so many delicous options to choose from including a sushi bar and a large list of sushi options\special rolls. You have to try the Ichiban, Fire Cracker and Lily Roll! I also thought the portions I've had with other meals and the price could not be beat compared to other same quality dining (Especially their lunch specials) The final great compliment I could give and the reason I will keep coming back over and over, is the incredible passion & effort the owner has in making sure her customers were always completely happy with the food & service. I don't understand the positive reviews of this restaurant. The server appeared unhappy with her job from the time we walked in until we left. After ordering, she forgot to give us chop sticks after two requests, tried to tell us kimchi is multi-national not Korean (seriously?!), and forgot to bring us our drinks until after we had our entrees. I literally was sticking to the table! It was so sticky, I had to sit back rather than rest my wrist on the table. It looked clean but there was apparently so much old dirt, they can no longer get it clean. My daughter ordered Crab Rangoon, one of her favorite things. The filling was gloppy and flavorless. Even after adding sauce, it was simply a fried wonton with sauce. The kimchi was also flavorless, which is virtually impossible for kimchi! Even when freshly made without much time to marinate, kimchi should be spicy. My teriyaki beef didn't look like beef. By the time it arrived, I was so hungry, I forced myself to taste it. It looked like reconstituted beef jerky. The flavor wasn't bad, but the visual was so odd, I couldn't finish and took it home to my husband. He doctored it with some Sirracha sauce and said it was palatable. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone I know. If in the area again, I would recommend On-The-Go Gyro or the the Asian restaurant across the street in the shopping center with Sears (don't recall the name). First try if their Pad Thai---thought it was flavorable and the noodles weren't overdone--their take on KimChee seemed almost bland but it is out of the comfort zone for them it seems. Ordering it Med Heat seemed to concern them but it was just medium(no sweating)--nice level of spiceyness SWMBO ordered Moo Gai Pan---it tasted fine and neither the veggies or chicken were overcooked! The crab rangoon was the same as every other place but the dipping sauce was good Service was amateurish at best with interruptions at all the wrong time but will stop there again when in the area Wish there were more pure Thai or Cambodian dishes on the menu!!!! read more

The Calamari is NOT fresh, it's frozen (meaning it's from a box) NOT MADE BY THE RESTAURANT, NOT AUTHENTIC. I ordered the "chef specialty" walnut shrimp, and there was NO TASTE and no seasoning. there was also WAY TOO MUCH mayo on the plate and on the shrimp.I should not be able to scoop up an entire spoonful of mayo sauce. Waste of money, the people eating here don't know good food. they also are NOT a Cambodian and thai restaurant. 80% of their menu is sushi. they have maybe 1 Cambodian and 5 Thai dishes. My favorite pan Asian food in the area. They have traditional Chinese and Thai dishes with a Cambodian influence. This place really turns up the heat! The third hottest was so hot my scalp was sweating. If you are like me you enjoy spicy food and usually it never gets hot enough, Happy Wok will deliver. Also, the vegetables are very fresh. The food ain't the same after change of ownership. Oily food, I smell like old 10 months worth of oil when dining in. It's like the new chef doesnt have any passion for the food. The employees are great. Then theres the Chinese lady running around yelling at her employees. You can hear her yelling in the back that she doesnt care, and you can feel the vibe she gives her employees. The sushi is not the greatest and over priced. The tempura shrimp roll we had was cold--the tempura itself. The garlic shrimp we got only had 6 small pieces of shrimp. and over loaded veggies. The lo mein was top oily and salty. One of most DELICIOUS Thai places I have ever eaten!! When we walked in there was no one there on a Saturday night-around 7:20pm-which...kind of concerned me a bit. After the first bite of the amazing spring rolls and egg drop soup, I was in heaven and could care less if anyone else was in there. Hubs had the curry and I had the garlic shrimp. I was up in Plover for work and ended up meeting a friend for lunch. He suggested this place and turned out to be an awesome choice. I had the Chicken Curry Soup with Rice and a side of Kim Chi with sesame oil. The food is great and the restaurant is nice and clean. It looked to me like they have tons of people for pick up and delivery orders. The only draw back is that the sign on the building wasn't so big so I almost missed the place. If you're in the area and want good Asian food (their menu had Cambodian, Chinese, Thai and Korean influences), definitely check this place out. read more

I love This place! My favorite thing to get is the sesame chicken. In terms of heat scale I like really spicy, so I ordered the Terry level Spiciness. I found that if you go above the Terry level they introduce the ghost pepper which in my case doesn't sit well in my stomach now I feel miserable for the next few hours. Yum, yum, yum! No other crab Rangoon's compare! Pad Thai is bomb. Spring rolls are freaking amazing, and with their peanut sauce, MMMM! I'm not a fan of curry, but it's my husband's favorite. We always have to catch them at Riverfront Rendezvous and the Cultural Festival. Samouen puts so much time into her recipes, and you will definitely enjoy it. The restaurant itself is pretty small, and usually busy whenever I try to dine in, but pick up is great and I think they even deliver. It's on the pricier side, but totally worth it!
