After 9 years of being Sam's Club members, we've decided we're not renewing our membership. This experience was the final straw. On Monday we placed an order. Most of the items were supposed to be shipped to our house and two items, a case of Diet Coke and a bag of chicken nuggets, were scheduled for curbside pickup on Tuesday between 11:00 and 12:00. I showed up Tuesday during my pickup window and was told they were so far behind on orders that I'd be lucky to get my order that day. I asked if I could just go in, grab the two items myself and have them mark the order as picked up. I was told no because they had to work the orders in order. They told me to come back around 4 or 5 that afternoon. So we found things to do around town and drove back to Sam's Club. The order still wasn't ready. This time they told me to come back Wednesday because they were about a day behind. Wednesday I came back again. Same answer. Still wasn't ready. At that point I called Member Services to see what options I had. Since the rest of the order was still "processing" for shipping they told me I couldn't even cancel it. So basically my money was tied up and all I could do was wait. Thursday morning I made my fourth trip to Sam's Club and finally picked up the two items. Four trips over three days for a case of Diet Coke and a bag of chicken nuggets. While I was there I checked on the rest of the order. Nine other items still hadn't shipped. They weren't even being prepared to ship. They were just sitting in "processing" with no estimated ship date and nobody could tell me when they would actually leave the warehouse. That's probably been the most frustrating part. Once they have your money you're stuck. You can't cancel because the order is processing, but nothing is actually happening. Customer service couldn't give me any answers or any real solution other than to keep waiting. I understand stores get busy. I understand things happen. But don't let customers pick a pickup window if the store is already a day behind. Don't make someone drive back four different times for two items. And if an order sits in processing for days, there should be a way to cancel it instead of tying up someone's money indefinitely. My wife has been saying for years, "We should have just gone to BJ's." This was the last time I'll be hearing that because she's right. Something that's supposed to be convenient has somehow always turned into more work, more driving, more frustration and more wasted time. After 9 years, we're letting our Sam's Club membership expire and switching to BJ's. I really hate writing negative reviews, but this experience was handled so poorly that I felt other people should know what to expect. read more

I really enjoy my neighborhood SAMS. They have a good variety bulk items. They are my go to for Alkaline water, tissue, paper towels, nuts, eggs, and milk. They also have a great specialty items like flowers, fresh sushi made in front of you, in store optometrist, pharmacy and cafe. I love their fruit smoothies and fresh produce. Appreciate the customer service, scan and go as well as curbside pickup. Only downsides- 1. at times is when you don't need items in bulk. 2. If you do curbside you have to be sure to ensure the item is for 'pick up' and not shipping otherwise some of you items will be dropped at your doorstep days later. 3. Noticed that they carry a product (Buldak Ramen in the pink package) that says on the back label it causes cancer and reproductive harm. When I complained to corporate someone did call me right away but then I heard absolutely nothing for the last 3 months. Don't buy that!!!! I look forward to some Costco specific items whenever they break ground, but until then my local Sam's meets most my needs. read more

Went to counter to get my Sam's cash and only one there took a few minutes because they were all trying to figure what to do about a wrong price!! But everything else went smoothly. The bakery is not like it used to be. The cakes are still delicious but the variety we used to be able to customize order has diminished. This act actually took place a few years ago. I stopped ordering their cakes back then but I still purchase their ready made baked goods. I was reminded yesterday when I went to order a cake . No special orders for me. The only complaint I have ever had with sams club is that 95 percent of the time the soda machines at the cafe do not work properly or don't have enough of any carbon added. They have new tables and a new set up at the cafe. I do not like that we have to order from the app or with a crew member at a certain register instead of at the cafe. I tried something new today... yes, I did curbside pickup... I was super surprised on how easy it was. I had been sick all week and didn't have the energy to get groceries so I ordered and paid online and set up a date when I finally felt better to pick up at the curbside pickup. Within 5 minutes of letting them know I was there and parked in a specific spot designated for this, I was brought my order by a very polite and helpful young woman - I wish I could remember her name- she loaded my groceries and I thanked her and off I went to work... what a great experience I had and I give her applause for making this experience a very positive experience. read more

My wife joined, and while the prices are decent, I've always been fundamentally against the idea of paying for the 'privilege' to shop. To me, it feels backwards a business relies on its customers to stay afloat, so charging a membership fee just to walk through the door makes little sense. I'm sure they'd argue that fees help keep prices low, but I believe managing overhead is the business's responsibility, not the customer's. read more

Recently got a Sam's club membership since this location is close to home. Especially not with a child, some things just make sense to buy in bulk and the prices here are better than just going to a grocery store (For the most part). I really do enjoy the variety of things that these wholesalers sell. I can buy tires, diapers, and some cheddar popcorn all in one trip. Need a generator and a bag of chips? Sure. The variety of products with the name brands you know and like is a great part of shopping here. The cafe is also great. Such great deals on food and drinks that could make your trip to the store just a little bit better. I mean getting a churro after a shopping trip always seems to make me feel great and accomplished. My only drawback with places like this is the cleanliness. Sometimes things just seem a little dirty or messy at times. I get it, it's a warehouse and people rifle through things on shelves and tables. Sometimes that also means things on the shelves don't get cycled correctly and you end up with an expired product. So it's not really the fault of the store but rather an added responsibility that could affect how people view it. I am very interested to see how they compare to a Costco when it finally comes to Buffalo next year. Then I may have to weigh my options. read more

I think it's awfully rude that people park in reserved parking spots designated for pick up orders then get out and go into the store. I think Cheektowaga police should start issuing tickets !!!! I drove around 3 times before I was able to park in a numbered spot , just rude !!! And I also think Sam's club should start putting a limit on their rotisserie chickens because 1 person should NOT be able to get 4 chickens especially after you have to stand in the line to get one , not gonna lie I almost took a old lady out over a dang chicken!!! I have been a BJs member for many years. A long time ago I had a Sams membership for a while but the nearest location to me isn't that convenient so I dropped my membership. There is a lot of product duplications between Sams and BJs but through the pandemic and post pandemic product shortages, often one would be unable to get the products I'm looking for but the other has the product in stock. Prices are usually about the same , I just have to drive farther to shop at Sams. One thing I like at Sams that BJs doesn't have is hot food and cold drink cafe. The hotdog and large pop deal is hard to pass up and I recently heard Sams is lowering their price for this meal deal even lower than the 2 bucks or so they were charging. I will probably maintain both of my memberships until product shortages improve. read more

We had a membership at Sam's Club years ago but gave it up since there was a BJs so close to our house. Well recently I found a deal to get a membership for a year for $15 (regularly $45 I think) with a $10 gift card. So. Why not. We decided to check it out. Actually did some research first to see the difference in prices. We found a pretty good split, with BJs having a slight edge, on the normal things we buy. I'm sure this would be a bit different for everyone depending on what products you want. Bottom line, you need to know prices before shopping. So off to Sam's we went! I always find it fun exploring a new store and did do on this visit. We ended up buying a ton of stuff, some on our list and a lot not. I'm a sucker for samples and since stores are back to doing samples I ended up with additional items I didn't know I wanted. Checkout went smooth. Only think I don't like is your cart and receipt being examined at the door. Always makes me feel like some kind of criminal. Just popped in for random things for the upcoming Holidays. I was usually get a pizza(s) for a quick dinner for my boys! Apparently, no more veggie pizzas??!?!? Just cheese!?!?! It looks like you still have a choice on meats though. I'm not a meat eater like the men in my family. Cheese is ok but as a woman who shops here frequently, this corporate decision has to have been made by a man... Dumb decision. You have all the produce in the back!!! Whoever did this needs to go back to the drawing board or be demoted. It was such an easy choice to get 1 of each, everyone is happy. Sam's Club has a wonderful optical department, very good selection, & good but not always great prices. The second worst thing about Sam's Club is the long wait times at the registers & to exit the store with your purchases, but the absolute WORST thing is their so-called delivery service!!! Last week I ordered delivery of some groceries & it went fine, so I reordered on Monday evening of this week, thinking I would actually get what I ordered on Tuesday afternoon between 2:00 & 4:00. Nope! When my order was running an hour or so late, Sam's Club sent me an uninformative email saying "Hi, we're running a little late with your order but it's in the works," or something to that effect. There was no estimate of the time when the order would arrive. Twenty-four hours AFTER this, i.e. Wednesday afternoon, not having heard anything, I called Sam's Club & asked what was going on. I was on the phone with them 30 minutes the first time, then was given another number to call, & spent 27 minutes on the second call. At no time did anyone say my order was on the way, not on the way, already delivered, in progress, canceled, nonexistent, or anything of the kind!!! I asked for the specifics of what was going on but no one came up with an answer. I decided to go to the club the following day with printouts of my order form & emails, & speak to the store manager in person. So I checked my bank account on Thursday morning & saw that Sam's Club had refunded my money. Sam's Club claims that the customer's account is never charged until the merchandise leaves the store. Next I saw where they had sent another email saying my order had been CHANGED (it was not me that changed anything), & some or all of my items were unavailable & would not be sent out!! These "unavailable" items included ice cream, sliced ham, sports drinks, & other things that are not exactly difficult to find in the store! I am assuming some dishonest Sam's Club employee delivered the items I had ordered, to his or her own home, & thought they would get away with charging the order to my bank card until I complained. I never did go to speak with the manager since I believe the problem has been addressed by now. It certainly should have been! At this point I am still willing to shop at Sam's Club, but only in person. I will put up with the wait times at the register & the undignified comparing of number of purchased products against the customer's receipt, which barely falls short of frisking, at the exit door. Sam's club is so cool. It's our version of Costco. You can get many bulk items at much cheaper prices than you will find in grocery stores. My favorite part is actually the random toys and electronics they get there. It's like a surprise whenever you walk in! The only downfall is that in order to get the cheap prices, you have to have a membership. I believe it's about $50/year, which doesn't seem like much but if you buy in bulk and don't actually need to shop that often, are the savings even worth it? That's a decision you have to make for yourself. read more

Stopped in here to kill time between work and meeting up with friends...parking lot was crowded, but huge store was not... everything was orderly and clean. Folks were observing covid protocol. There's always a few surprise items here that I airboat, at supplies, unique furniture, well priced cookware... I even found beautiful flowers for a fraction of the price I've seen elsewhere... so I bought! They of course have all the usual things as well and are priced very fairly. This branch of Sam's specific to Tire and Battery is in an odd location around the corner of the plaza (not even close to the actual Sam's club). We went there for a new battery today and they told us to buy it in the store and then bring it over to them to get installed (what a hassle). Fortunately, they installed it within 20 minutes. The cost of the battery includes installation. The staff here are friendly and efficient. They explain things clearly to you. The place is small with only 2 chairs. We hung out at the Moe's nearby. Once you get your new battery installed by them, they give you a certificate to use to get your $5 back for the old battery. So back you go to the main Sam's building (a further hassle). read more

When comparing to another warehouse supplier, I prefer Sam's for the better selection and often cheaper prices. They don't accept coupons but that seems to be rectified by the lower cost. I usually find whatever I'm looking for in stock and the place is always clean and organized. There's still one of two things that they don't carry so that forces me to keep the other supplier's membership as well. Where do I begin? My mom put me on her membership. I went in one day on a Friday around 11am. I went to the checkout line with an employee. A screen popped up asking if I wanted to renew the membership. I said no, but my finger touched the yes and I was charged the renewal price, plus an added $8 fee. I said please take that off my bill. She did, but not the $8 fee. I then asked the cashier to remove it, but she told me she could not and asked me to go to customer service. I then have to wait in line at customer service. Francis, she was the only saving grace and the reason for me giving Sam's Club 2 stars. She reversed the charge and refunded me this $8 mystery membership cost. I go home, notice my waffle fries have a hole in the bag. I go back to Sam's Club that day and stand in line at customer service again. A gentleman, who again is the only other reason Sam's received 2 stars and not 1, helped me. The fries weren't even on my receipt, but a package of gum for $8 was. I don't chew gum because I have TMJ and asked him to please remove that charge. I then asked him if we could go over my entire receipt because I don't know if I was charged for other things I didn't buy. We did, and thankfully that was the only additional charge of something I did not buy. Fast forward a month later and I had to stop for a couple items at Sam's for a party I was having. I purchased 2 items, went through self checkout and then spent more time waiting in line for an employee to scan my receipt and an item so I could leave the store, than I did getting my items and checking out. There was a half hour until the store closed. I contemplated just walking out, as I paid for my items and don't know what they would do if I just walked out without being scanned. But they do offer in house discount savings. I also like their selections if meat, very fresh and good quality. I also like the fact you get 2% return cash return on purchases you make. Compact: Large. Good Parking. Tons of nice product in large portions. Expanded: Huge store out near the galleria Mall. I came here because I had a "60 day free pass" thing and a close friend of mine much prefers Sams over BJs. I wanted to see what she was raving about. To be fair, I have been to other Sam's over the years, perhaps 3 or 4, always with a member. To me they are similar to BJs with different brand names but the same products. I arrived here during their posted open hours. But, they weren't open for me. Just for business members. The website has been updated since to reflect that, but when I looked it up, it did not clarify. So my first attempt was unsuccessful. I was annoyed no doubt. I went back anyway, and again the parking there was easy, always good. But the service was a little off I think. Maybe they were down some staff or something, but they all looked stressed out and the checkout lines were all long. AS I went through the store, its huge, takes a while, I was sticking to my list. I was able to find what I was looking for, and at process similar to BJs. BUt the aisles were not always clear, there were some items that were on higher shelves and needed to be brought down for me, but it was hard to find an employee to help out. When I did, he was busy with someone else (which is fine), but then he took ma call (work) before helping me. Not as fine to me. Checkout was a long process. Again, maybe some were out sick. If that's the usual staffing then they really need to rethink it. I did not join after my membership was up. I may in the future, you never know, but Id have to have a better experience here first. read more

Been a member at this location for a long time. Got some tires recently. The process is ridiculously complicated. I ordered the tires online. There is no option to pay online. When I got to the Sam's tire shop, they had me go back to Sam's to pick up the tires and pay for them in person. No barcode on the tires so I had to have an employee input the code in one by one manually. Returned to the tire shop and they called telling they forgot to add the installation fees. I had to walm back to the shop to pay for it (Mind you, they are not next to each other). The girl at the service desk gave me a whole attitude because I didn't want to upgrade to a plus member. She kept mumbling why I didn't do it to save money bla bla bla. It's very rude. The only bright side is the workers at the tire shop. I'm not sure I stay a member when Costco finally opens its location here. read more

Let me preface this review by stating that I have never been inside of a "Sam's Club". This review is based solely on food that a friend picked up for me as a surprise. Hence, the 4 star review as opposed to a 5. No surprise that I DETEST shopping with the public. The 'rona has really soured me on people and life in general. Anyway. My friend was shopping prior to our get together. She picked up a large cheese pizza, six baked pretzels and a pack of ciabatta rolls. Odd combo yet everything worked! Pretzels. Yummy. Three with salt and the with cinnamon. A little bit of heaven. The pizza? Delightful! Perfect amount of sauce and cheese. Right amount of crust. Very tasty for a mass produced/big box store pizza. Ciabatta. I'm not always a fan. Some rolls can be very doughy. These were perfect and used in a variety of sammy combos with things that I had in house. Lovely visit with my friend. Great eats. And the anticipation of possibly checking out this store on my own. read more

The lines are terribly long. We mostly go here for the hot dog and other food at the cafe. Considering the prices are almost always cheaper at aldis, I don't think I'll be renewing my membership unless I get another $10/year membership as I got this time. read more

Kaylie, who works at the customer service desk was really helpful in helping me establish a membership on day one, and then happened to be working at Customer Service again when I needed to refund one of my purchases a day later on a second visit. Various sales associates were also proactive in helping with product selection and then bringing heavy items out to my car. Overall, am impressed so far with the dedicated Sam's staff. read more

My family and I love coming to Sam's Club every time we are in the US. They have a great selection of items you can't find at Costco. I was pretty impressed with their house brand, Member's Mark too! I picked up a few frozen items I'm excited to try. They also have a lovely Optometrist at this location who was very thorough and took the time to explain everything in detail. The worst place ever for customer service! Where do they even find the people they hire? It's the most amount of workers I have seen in one place yet they cannot get it together. I've been standing in the member services line with a return for over a half hour and still multiple people in front of me and watching as 2-3 workers try to assist 1 customer and let me emphasize TRY because they are failing miserably and I have little hope assistance will result in a resolution. Sam's is not something I would consider a one-shop stop, but they have a variety of things that will fit many of your needs, particularly if you're looking to buy things in bulk. It's a warehouse in a sense, but the make do with the space which covers wvweyrbinf from a butcher area, a bakery, an electronics department, entertainment department, clothes department, pharmacy, vision area, and much more. I personally utilize the pharmacy and of course buy groceries deal permitting. I used to like their bakery, and rely on it for baked goods for holidays, birthdays, and just because, but the bakery has gone downhill and stayed there for quite some time now. The customer service is almost always a mixed bag. There are many departments that have great, personable, friendly staff members eager to help, and then there are others who clearly shouldn't be in customer service. The good thing about Sam's being a club is that you eventually learn how to avoid depending on whether or not they have worked there for a while.
