I've been a member here for several years and this specific location has steadily gotten harder and harder to shop at until today when I just left. Between not having items in the store listed online as being in store and employees that either don't want to talk to you( and are actively hostile), are to busy on there phones or lack basic communication skills needed to hold a customer facing position its just not worth it. First time shopper! I signed up over the weekend and decided to check out shopping at the Sawmill location. This location will be my go to. I also went early and mid week so was not rushed and the store wasn't crowded. Plenty of parking and easy access in and out. The inside of the store is clean and organized. I did find the organization of snacks and candy to be a little scattered but It had no problem walking down every isle checking things out. I downloaded the phone app and it was helpful to find extra deals and to see if they had what I was looking for. read more

05/03/2023 Just an update I went yesterday and normally things go great they really do have a great team there I went to get some fresh sushi because they now have an amazing sushi bar at this location back near the meats. However the employees where no where to be found. So I waited, and while I was waiting, I was approached 4 times as the employee's relized I was not being helped, and they tried to help to the extent they could. I was never ignored. The sushi employees are not employees of sams it is a third party, so they didn't know when they would be back, so I left after 30 minutes, but they tried so hard and always do. 01/07/2023 I visit this club all the time. On my recent visit, I had to return a salad that went bad. It was a Sunday evening, and I waited for 1 employee to get through 4 people to make my return it took almost 40 minutes, which I was a little upset about. Generally, the employees are helpful, and it's easy to scan and go. Unlike Costco, you can use an app to scan everything you need and then just show your barcode without waiting in a checkout line and go. It's incredible how fast you can get in and out. If you haven't tried it, you should. Sometimes, they offer special discounts on items that are scan and go too. This location I am reviewing for two departments: 1) bakery and 2) tire department . I have had excellent service every time I ordered from the bakery at the Sawmill Rd location. I think the cupcakes are always a great buy for parties. I love that you can customize the order with half white and half chocolate and you can also choose whipped cream frosting instead of the buttercream. I have ordered their oreo flavor in whipped before as well, but sad to hear that they no longer carry that. I definitely hope they bring it back. The quality of their bakery items have always met the mark and the cupcakes are definitely a filling size. The bakery at this location deserves a 5/5. The tire department at Sawmill Rd, on the other hand, is another story. I have noticed that there are new workers in the tire department altogether, but after my last experiences, I would not trust this location with my car. However, I have had no problems with Sam's Club's tire department at their Morse Rd location. The tire department had made mistakes multiple times on our tire orders here, and they were not little. My husband had wanted to order Michelin tires that had an offer for $60 off for ordering 4 new tires. The ones we wanted were not available at the store, so had to order through Sam's Club online. We asked the tire staff member if they would still honor the $60 discount though since we were ordering within their promotion sale time. We were told that was not a problem. Finally, when the tires came in and we went to install them, it took over an hour for the tire staff to honor the promotional offer and that too by offering a Sam's gift card. It seems like they are not all in the same place. The second even worse time was when my dad ordered tires for his car. After they installed the new tires, we noticed that one tire kept having an air issue. When we went to look at the tire, we realized they did not even change that one tire and it's having problems because it's still his old tire!!!! We have never experienced this before. How was this even possible?! We went to the store and told them and we were told instead, "oh maybe someone stole your new tire." Are you kidding me?! Someone will steal a new tire and replace with the exact same brand old tire my dad had?! What a joke!! We then spoke to management and guess what? Even their store inventory showed that only 3/4 of those tires my dad had ordered had been properly marked out of the inventory. When they searched in their store, it was nowhere to be found. Then to make matters worse, Sam's no longer had any more of the tires my dad got. Now they ended up ordering 4 of the same brand, but different variety for my dad's car and installed them. My advice to everyone, please check that all your tires are the new ones before you leave after tire installation. Who knew this could ever be a problem? Due to these reasons that made me lose trust as a customer, I specifically give the tire department at Sawmill Rd a 0/5. read more

Went there to buy a few items! Sams Club should be called The one hundred dollar Club instead. Very seldom do I get out spending less there. Decided to grab a piece of pizza and drink on my way out. For less than $2.50 I got a huge slice of pizza. It had veggies and pepperoni and sausage. It came with a soft drink beverage! Such a great deal! It was tasty and very delicious. Went back today and they totally remodeled. Unfortunately I left my membership card at home and had to get a temporary card. The customer service person apparently transcribed the wrong number and personnel had to go back and get my number. That still didn't work so I ended up taking everything to the customer service desk and checked out there. Oy! What a ordeal!! read more

The survey that you emailed to me had expired (August/September delivery dates). The products that were delivered by a Sams Club driver or whatever serevice you use were O.K. but the items that had to be shipped I was very very disappointed! I plan not to use nor recommend your shipping services again! The reason for the disappointment and poor score: 1 - The raggedy box that was used to ship my items was bigger than my front door. I had to bring it in via the garage door. 2 - The box must have been used many, many times and was falling apart AND It was poorly taped together. And thank goodness none of the packaging around my individual items was broken or I would have had to send them back for sanitary reasons. For the amount of money I spent on that order ($400), I did expect BETTER out of you. read more

I came here today to get party stuff for my husband's shindig we are doing this weekend for him. Everything was okay throughout the entire shopping experience until I came to the check out area. Let's start with the good stuff. I come to Sam's Club often to buy water in bulk because it's a great deal here. I also buy meat here when we do BBQ's. It's so worth it for the price and quantity your getting for the meat. The fruits and vegetables are also pretty good when it comes to pricing. I've been noticing each summer the strawberries always go on sale. I always get the bananas because it's a great deal as well. Okay, I've finished venting on the good stuff even though it's not much I must move on. What really was bad about my experience today at Sam's Club was that as I was finishing to check out the lady handling the check out lane comes up to my register and goes to my renewal and tries to make me pay for an upgrade of $55 for a Sam's Plus card. I said I would not like to add it and she would not stop carrying on about why I should purchase it when I kindly said I don't want it. She also managed to get right in my personal space just to get to that screen. When did this become acceptable? No, I'm sorry I've changed the screen or do you care to add this. Just explicitly trying to get more money out of me. I hope Sam's Club does not do this sales tactic again because it was not right and I did not appreciate being switched screens as I was trying to pay for my transaction to leave the store. Maybe they'll learn better customer service in the future but today was definitely not a good example of selling to a customer, it was completely unexpected behavior from them. read more

This is the closest Sam's Club to my house, so this is the wholesale club that I tend to shop at the most often. They recently renovated their meat/seafood department, so that's kinda nice now. Friendly staff and usually not too crowded. On the other hand, their product selection seems to be shrinking as of late. First the Velveeta cheese went away. Then the Kraft shredded cheddar cheese which used to be available in both sharp and mild, now is only available in the mild variety. It seems to be an issue with this store in particular because the Hilliard-Rome Road Sam's Club still carries those items. And last time I went, they had stopped carrying the Daily Chef frozen chicken breasts and only had the more expensive Tyson frozen chicken breasts. So yeah, please re-expand your product selection! read more

Gas- one star Attendants are always trying to help someone bc their card doesn't work in their gas pump. It's frustrating. They send you on the store and the store gives you a number to call. In order to talk with someone to resolve the issue they charge you. What!?! OR they say you need to contact your bank. Funny! I've left and used my bank card right after and it works fine. Same with others I know that have had to deal with this problem. Wish they would fix this. This is like the 30th time I've bought a soda cup and non of their pop is working. and they don't offer your money back or a replacement. I also had to wait in a extremely long line to leave after paying when I only had 1 item. If your looking for a good sams I suggest the Ontario location. It's a barebones costco experience. If you're there to buy stuff and get out, it will work for you. If you want the full Costco like experience, it's going to be a rough time. It's as if you took a Costco and cut off 50% of their funding. Food court area is uninspired and always backed up because it's understaffed. Employees seem flustered and just disappear at times there. Instead of samples in the aisles, they have people trying to sell you stuff that don't work for Costco. I've seen sales pitches where they scam you in saying they will give you samples but give you a 2 cent microfiber cloth so they aren't technically lying to those energy providers that go door to door. The closest thing they have to samples is actually a machine, which has either been out of samples or simply not working all but once when I've checked it out. Some staff are nice, some hate their life and want to make you hate yours. No matter how polite you are to them, they still seem to not want to be there. But again, some staff are the polar opposite. Unfortunately though, the super rude/angry employees are the ones who stand out. The person who signed us up when we first went was probably the rudest one of the bunch. We had already purchased our membership online, just needed the cards. She hated us from the moment we walked up to the counter. Never said hi or any words during the process other than one word commands.... Took our pictures by putting an ipad in our faces with no warning, didn't explain what she was doing when we asked and just silently kept going. Their floor-level staff don't care. Greeters, cashiers, the butcher, all of them don't do a good job. Cashiers - eyes half shut, dim personality, one or two word sentences, mumbles Butcher - They leave lots of fat on the Members Mark chicken. Greeters - I thought one was a homeless person. the bakery was so unprofessional it was ridiculous. they tried many times to talk us out of cake design (a design already in their books). they even had us call other stores to see if they'd make it better because they said there was a chance our cake would be "ugly" because the cake designer was "inexperienced ". they also warned that we would possibly get a call from the cake decorator telling us that she didn't want us to do it. we finally got them to take our cake order after 45 minutes of haggling. when we went to pick up the cake that was ordered for our WEDDING, they didn't have it ready and instead of a circle cake they gave us a sheet cake. terrible experience. read more

Sam's Club is a very downscale imitation of Costco. I don't belong to Sam's club for these reasons. Wine is low-quality Kroger-type junk, and not a bargain. Meat is more expensive than at Meijer. Groceries are priced about the same as at other grocery stores. The low-priced gasoline is missing detergents. It will gunk up your engine. The only value that I can see is the bargain rotisserie chicken. The membership fee is too expensive just to buy chicken. read more

I've been to my fair share of Sam's Club in the last 20+ years. This location is not my favorite. I frequent Sam's 1-2 times per week. This stores layout is similar to most stores. It is easy to navigate. The store is never too busy in my experience. Many other Sam's are quite busy during peak hours. The store has a larger selection than some of the other Sam's in the Columbus area. My biggest criticism is the employees. The customer service workers are generally rude. The people working around the self-checkout pretty much lean over your shoulder. The man who typically works the exit is extremely creepy. He says things that border on sexual harassment to many female customers. He hasn't been there recently so that is good news. My best advice is to get in and get out as quickly as possible. read more

When it comes to bargains, I'm always a fan!! This Sam's seems to be a little nicer than the one on Morse Road by Easton. As I've said in a previous Sam's Club review... it's the place to go if you want a deal in bulk. Also, they do have some great furnature deals sometimes too. Got an AWSOME TV console... about half the price as some stores I looked at! Anyway, Sam's is one of those places you need to frequent because their stock always changes. If you see something you want you better get it that day, because when the item is gone, they may not have it again. It is approximately 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 27th and I am writing this to share my frustration and request help in resolving the dilemma I find myself in with the Sam's Club Tire Center at 5870 Sawmill Road in Dublin, Ohio. As a retired businessman I had often heard in my career that there are two basic rules of business: Rule 1 - The Customer is always right & Rule 2 - They should be punished for their arrogance. On Friday I experienced Rule 2. On 02/26/21 I arrived at the Sam's Club Tire Center for an 11:00 AM appointment to have two new tires I purchased from the Sam's Club mounted on the front wheels of the car. The Sam's Club document (48570064545) shows that they mounted two new tires on the front. In reality they mounted the two new tires on the rear. When I pointed out their error and asked it to be corrected they brought my car back into the garage bay (12:15 PM). Shortly after 1:00 PM they pulled the car out of the garage and said it was ready to go. However the tire technician had not corrected the situation claiming that the Sam's Club policy is that he can only mount new tires on the rear wheels and that was all that he could do. No one was available and the tire technician was the only one in the garage. With a serious heart condition I was getting very tired and fatigued from having been walking almost nonstop around the store for over 2 hours. Since Covid-19 all seating, benches and tables had been removed from the club. Rather than raising my BP I chose to go home as a disappointed Club Member and get some rest. On Saturday I filed a formal complaint with the Sam's Club Help Center (210227-011042 02/27/21 1:41 PM). At the end of the day I spent over $260.00 at Sam's Club for two new tires replacing two good tires that had a remaining life of over 40,000 miles per the Sam's technician and still have a tire on the front which is a slow leaker. There are other issues but as a 72 year old club member I left feeling totally disrespected and taken advantage of. read more

Well, I'm not a Sam's Club member and I don't know any one who is. So how, pray tell, can I review a Sam's Club? Well, I can't- at least not the whole thing. But did you know that by law they have to sell liquor to non-members? Me neither, and it sounded awfully fishy to me when I first heard it, too- but it works! The thing is, it's almost a hassle, because Sam Club employees either haven't heard of this, either, or don't admit to it if they have. The man who checks cards was very suspicious of our claim that we had the legal right to buy booze here without a membership, but said we could enter and go directly to the liquor area. This isn't anything fancy, by the way- a small selection of cheap liquors and beer, really- but the prices are just a tad better than you'd be paying elsewhere. Of course Sam's Club only accepts Discovery and doesn't take checks from non-members, so bring cash- checking out was another hassle, especially because the cashier, like door security, appeared to never heard of non-member rabble coming in to make a savage run on the sin aisle. We did eventually walk out with a good selection of cheap crap to serve in large amounts at an upcoming party, and we were a few dollars richer than we could have been. There was some hassle and noise, but it felt good to take advantage of member prices without having to be a member. Take THAT, ghost of Sam Walton! EDIT: A helpful Yelper has messaged me to inform me that Sam's Club does take Master Card. I guess I assumed that any place that wouldn't take Visa also wouldn't take MC. My mistake! read more

I do like going to Sams on occasion. Weekdays are far less crowded than if you go on the weekend. You can find just about anything you might want. They have a good meat department and large portions of frozen foods. Since I have a back problem, it is difficult to lift large items. II like to buy the bottled water in bulk but can't put it in the cart or in the car. I usually bring someone strong or young with me since it is hard to find someone to assist you. They don't have a lot of employees to help people and the checkout lines are long. read more

This review is in conjunction with the Squaretrade and Apple Beats Solo 3 Wireless Headphones Review. I purchased a gold pair of the aforementioned headphones from Sam's Club in December of 2017. The cloth is coming undone around one of the earpieces and the wiring does not work. I tried to return them to Sam's Club and was told that because it was past their 90 day electronics policy that I could not exchange them. What's more the store manage at the Dublin, Ohio location told me that because I purchased them online, I would have to return them that way as well. I went home and logged onto Sam's Club online and was told the same thing. They tried to refer me back to Squaretrade or Apple but I already told them neither company can help me unless I pay one of them more money. I will not renew my membership. If you cannot contact the manufacturer of the products you sell on behalf the buyer or help with the claims process when the extended warranty company gives your customer the run around, why am I bothering to do business with you???! Thank you for letting me know you only exist to sell me something an once you have my money, its out of your hands. Think bulk. The store is clean, huge and always seems to be busy. Plenty of parking spaces, but watch out for the potholes. I cannot say that I honestly get out of my membership what I pay for, but I keep renewing. Conveniently located on Sawmill, but still a little bit of a drive ... and then there is dealing with Sawmill. As with anything else, price compare. Make sure that the price really is competitive. When it is competitive, it's a good buy. Otherwise, it is not always cheaper. I also tend to buy things I really was not originally shopping for. So, its a fun place to shop. And on the weekends, they always have freebie snack stations for things to try. Brands and variety are limited. So, if you are looking for something special, like detergents for sensitive skin and so forth, you likely will not find it here. They stock the more commonly used products. read more

This review is mostly based on the automotive department .. I actually like Sam's club .. would give the store a solid 3 stars for their items and customer service .. I would like to share a recent experience I had with the Sam's Tire Center .. Made an appointment their for a tire @ 7 am.. we parked outside the side entrance to the tire center .. so walked to the door to go in and they told us to go around to the front .. kind of inconvenient and unnecessary but ok, so I walk in and speak to an associate, no greeting, no customer service ., tell him I need tire .. before checking tire tells me I need to buy 2 tires .. told him I only need one and that I've bought one tire in a previous visit ..so he walks over to the service guy and talks to him and says well let's see if we have your tires in stock ?? Duh, yeah check and see if my tires match what you carry??!!! So tech goes out and they don't have an exact match of what I have on my vehicle but a similar match , tech tells me that I can purchase the one tire... I do.. another oddity, I pay immediately for the service b4 any work is done on the vehicle ..the service associate is pretty rude , already has told me something wrong and is demanding payment .. mentioned to him I've never paid for automotive repairs or something before the actual work is done .. the guy doesn't say anything , ignores me .. ok, so walk around the store about 20 minutes .. come back & car is done with tire .. drive away ... get home, come to look at the tire &!the hub caps which is made of plastic is chipped and their is a hole in it ? Unreal... the actual visit to Sam's Tire Center was a 1 Star .. service man terrible , tech guy damaged my hubcap and I got wrong info ... added one star cuz I still like the Sam's Club Market and Grocery store .. but I won't ever go back to their tire center and will tell others about my bad experience... read more

I really like shopping at Sams club, but I hate checking out and trying to find things when you don't know where they are or were moved to. The value is great if you shop smart and use all you buy. I am probably able to save over a 1000 a year. My issues are there are more people giving away free samples than there are workers to assist customers on the floor and the lines to check out are ridiculously long. It should not take longer to check out then it does to shop 9 out of 10 times you go there. Management should know about staffing and peak hours and schedule accordingly. Maybe they could use some of their billions to print maps of the stores and have the greeters make them available if they don't have employees on the floor to assist because they talk to everyone that walks in the door.
