We stopped at Sam's Club to get my daughter stocked up and ready for her junior year of college! We picked up all the essentials--water, washing machine detergent and odor-busting beads, fruit, chicken, and plenty more. It's always great to be able to get so much in one trip! One note to management: the bathrooms really need more attention. They should be checked and cleaned much more frequently--honestly, I think they should be looked at at least every hour. Keeping the bathrooms clean makes such a difference in the overall shopping experience. Overall, a productive trip and we got everything we needed to get her ready for another year at college! We were very used to BJs Wholesale before we moved here. Sam's Club is basically the same, but since it is the only wholesale club in Gainesville, it's also usually crowded, so we almost always use their curbside service rather than going in. Saying that, not sure if it is representative of the current times, but they have strangely run out of some staples for days on end (fresh chicken breast/tenderloins, some milk, heavy cream, salads) which seems odd. To be fair, they are in stock about 85-90% of the time, but when they aren't they're usually not available for over a week. The curbside service is usually good, but have had times where not everything was included in my order and didn't notice until I got home. Also, a recent bad experience where rotisserie chicken didn't come out with my other items (including frozen/refrigerated) and was told they're going to have them in 10 minutes. 25 minutes later, no chicken, and the guy who was handling my curbside order went on break! I had to bring all my frozen/refrigerated items inside to customer service to return them as they were just sitting in my car as we waited for the chicken to come out. They should have never brought out my order if it was not complete. If you use their app and go inside, unfortunately the app does NOT tell you were things are located. I wish they had this capability, but admittedly they move stuff around A LOT while some stuff is consistently located, not everything is. Usually the folks inside can direct you to where things should be, but there's never a guarantee. Pro tips for curbside service: - Make sure you indicate you are "on your way" to the store before you get there. This will help get you order to your car faster once you do arrive. - Check your order before they leave to make sure you got everything! - Do not let them bring out a partial order and tell you they'll be back with the rest. Make sure they give you everything at once. Pro tips for shopping in the store: - Use Scan & Go in the app to scan and pay for all your items. It's MUCH faster than if you wait in line to pay. read more

I picked up a order this morning at Sams. I checked my eggs and they were broken. I told the person that brought the order out and he got mad that I asked to get another pack of eggs. He told me that I had to wait because others were waiting for their orders. My order was at 7am. I went to the door and asked another employee for my eggs and he called someone on his radio to get them. Finally I got my eggs. I checked again before walking away. read more

I appreciate the non perishable products and prices, find the customer service to be inconsistent, use produce quickly because it doesn't last, really like their meat, pass by ALL "fresh" seafood, wish their freezer section was more consistent in what they carry (there ARE the very consistent items but many are in and out or in and gone), and I like many of the clothes. read more

I was happy that the layout was similar to the other Sam's I frequent and stock levels were high to accommodate the busy weekend. Sam's Club is cool. My app would not show my club bat code, so I showed the lady at the door, and just told me to close the app and it would come back! It did! I could not find Caesar dressing, and asked a worker, he wasn't sure, so he found somebody that knew for sure. They don't carry it. Off to get the rest of my stuff, and easy checkout with the barcode gun! It was crowded after the hurricane, but everyone was civil and cordial! I am really disappointed in Sams club. I have had plus membership for years, and always had gotten free shipping with it. In the past year, they had " over $50, get free shipping ". With the plus membership? I thought shipping was free? What am I paying for? Anyways, I had a hardship happen this year, and asked them to close my account. They said they did. As the price of coffee went through the roof, I decided maybe I could handle paying for the membership to get coffee cheaper. I tried to renew, and couldn't get into the sams club online to do that- and, they never closed my account- which, two months ago, they told me they did. I honestly don't trust Sams club anymore. I am excited to head over to Sam's Club to grab their special rotisserie chicken and hotdog soda combo for the unbeatable price of $1.38. I noticed that the gas prices were at $3.03 for regular unleaded. The store's rotisserie chickens are known for being hot, juicy, and freshly cooked, which is why I always make it a point to stop by whenever I can. Today is a Saturday, but thankfully, it doesn't seem to be overly crowded, so I should be able to get in and out quickly. read more

You know, I really wish the competition would come to town so that Sam's Club would have reason to step up their game, because right now they are not playing a very good game. Walked in on a Friday afternoon, when things should be stocked up pretty well in preparation for the weekend, only to find that there are a number of items that are simply missing. Not "out", mind you... completely missing, as in not even having a space on the shelf to be and simply out due to inventory reasons. I know I have written about this Sam's Club before, but I really feel it has gone downhill since I wrote about it a couple of years ago. I feel it is a result of not having any competition in town for what they are combined with being closer to a high student population epicenter for Gainesville. The students don't know any better, and it's not like there are any other stores that offer what they offer, so they can afford to be somewhat mediocre since, well... where else are you gonna go? I will say that the employees there are good. This is not on them... I feel this is something that comes from higher up, perhaps even higher than the local management. They can do only so much, and I was watching from the food court as management handled things while camped out on one of the tables in the food court. This isn't saying that they were being lazy... this looks like it is their permanent office that all of the different managers share over different shifts. Don't they have a proper office? I was able to get most of the things that I needed, though there were a couple of things missing from my list that made life... interesting... for the next couple of weeks. Also, what is with them shutting down the chicken roasting operation so early? By the time you get in there at 4:00PM, the operation is completely shut down and all of the roasted chickens are gone. read more

My experience has been generally very good at this Sam's club. The staff are friendly, the store is clean, and the gas lines are fairly efficient. Gas prices are consistently 3 - 10 cents cheaper per gallon. Additionally, you can't go wrong with grabbing one of their rotisserie chickens or eating from their mini food court area. The experience with their tire and battery service area is relatively mixed. They ultimately helped me replace a tire, but I felt like they wanted me to leave and were dissuading me from using their service. This would be my main reservation, and reason for rating this Sam's Club a 4 instead of a 5. The Sam's club membership is an overall great value for people who prefer to purchase in bulk for a savings. read more

We have a membership at both Costco and Sam's. I bought the Sam's membership when Costco was requiring masks after the mandate was lifted. I have respiratory issues and a pulmonologist and wearing a mask isn't a minor issue for me, especially if I'm walking. Sam's has good meat specials. I bought a mattress online. As soon as I clicked the order button I noticed it was being delivered to the wrong address. I immediately contacted Sam's Club. I was told to wait until it was shipped and to check delivery status. I called about 8 times!!!! I was given another number to call and they don't speak much English. The Tire Center offers the worst experience by far. I don't go in the best customer service but the only person I interacted with on three different occasions seemed annoyed or irritated every time. I arrived late to my appointment which was for early morning because I work nights and I left late from work and had a flat tire, so I had to put air in it. The moment I said the time of the appointment he says: "Oh you are 1 hour late to your appointment and will need to reschedule". Did not bother to ask why I was late. The worst part of it all is that there was not a single vehicle in any of the four working areas they have available. Nobody was waiting in line behind me. So I decided to leave and get my tires from Costco instead. read more

I was in need of tire change. I asked the sams club live chat if they do Walmart price match for tires. They do. I drove 30 mins to go to my nearest club just for them to deny they do such a thing. I showed them my reference number but they didn't even bother searching it up. All they said was "Believe me we don't price match anything even TVs". I recommend going to Walmart for tire changes. It's way cheaper and basically offer similar options as Sam's club. At least you won't waste your time read more

Went in to sams today to get a few things and my 4 year old saw some clearance boots that were broken. I didn't really want to buy them,but to avoid a temper tantrum I took the only pair of unicorn boots in a 9/10 up to the register with the rest of my groceries.I asked an employee if there was anything they could do for me because the boots were broken on the top and he called Susan over....Susan proceeded to tell me I was lying that there were more boots back there in that size...when clearly they are on clearance why would there be more....anyway completely stupid customer service....I paid 8 dollars for a pair of boots that were broken at the top while not bad still bad customer service...and I've been a retail manager for 30+ years read more

God damn, spending money at the club like Sam's. Pros - selection, staff, return lines generally short, gas prices are economical. Cons - lines can be long (use scanner on phone app), weekends are kind of busy to be expected, parking a nightmare at times. read more

The main reason I have a Sam's club card is specifically for the gas! The gas station usually does fall between 5 and 10 cents cheaper than the other gas stations in Gainesville. The gas station is really kept up very nice and they make sure the pumps are full of gas for patrons to pump! I do like the inside of Sam's club as well. I would say it would be nicer to have a Costco, but Sam's does have some nice stuff too. I like the rotisserie chicken at Sam's a lot, and for the price you can't beat it. Sam's is nice because you can stock up on all the essentials like toilet paper, paper plates, cups and other stuff. I have never encountered rude staff at Sam's. This has to be one of the worst managed Sams Clubs in the world! Employees morale is in the tank and employees are quitting or being fired. Tire department used to be my "go to" for all my tires and batteries over the past 20 years. Now they have multiple bays empty because they can't keep anyone working here. Morale is low and service is horrible. Ever since they moved down to this cluttered poorly designed and congested Butlerville, the service in the entire store has taken a pathetic nosedive. I purchased a pallet of water for a job site next door and I picked it up with our forklift. When going out onto the road I went too fast and hit and unseen pothole and spilled the entire pallet in the middle of the road! Totally my fault I should have been more careful, but one of the employees, 'Natalie', stopped on her way out and helped me grab all these cases and bottles off the street and load them back up. She didn't have to do that and I just wanted to say I appreciate it! All the other employees I interacted with there were kind, responsive, and helpful. read more

Lots of lack of adherence with masks. Many guests were wearing them around their necks and letting their mouth and nose hangout in front of employees, and no one said anything. I probably won't be back until it's a bit more safe. I recommend all those who are well educated on Covid to stay away as well. The customer service at this location has been lacking. The employees never seem to know what they're talking about, I've had two employees give me conflicting answers to the same question in the same visit. My family has been going to Sam's Club for over 30 years. The last three times we have been to this location we have had an employee attack us multiple reasons. 1) My sister ran ahead of my mom and I to go to the bathroom. She had the membership card. She was maybe 10 feet in front of us. She wouldnt allow us to enter the store until my sister came and got us. She mutterer and cursed my mom out. The manager said she will be spoken to.... 2) We had dropped while carrying it out after our receipt being checked. (It was eye drops on top of toilet paper.) We realized it maybe 10 feet after the exit. She attacked us for 5 minutes because we went in the exit just to pick the item up of the ground. The store wasnt even busy. 3) Today we were yelled at by the entrance man and that the girl from the previous two twices. The guy got mad that I stepped to the side for an older person with a cane while my mom got a cart (due to me forgetting to grab one). Supposedly, I came from a place that "no one is allowed to go to." The girl yelled at me because I forget my reciept at the tired counter and I turned around to get it. She told me i had to leave and re-enter even though I hadnt exited the store yet. The girl also said she was going to talk to management about not allowing me in the store anymore because I dont seem to follow the rules. I will be calling corp about this girl's behavior. No one deserves to have profanity thrown at them and an attitude. read more

I've been going to Sam's Club since I've been in diapers. My parents and I frequent clubs in Pinellas Park and Clearwater in the Tampa Bay Area biweekly and when I was a student at UF, I was at the old location on 13th at least once a month. All of our previous experiences were predictably pleasant--organized aisles, some nice free samples and not too hellish of a wait to check out and move on with our lives. As nice as this location looks, customer service is absolutely dismal. I understand that this location is busy, but the amount of sales that this location does should more than justify having more people working! We came in to replace a car battery. We waited over 40 minutes. That is inexcusable. For a store where you pay for access, you'd expect that they'd at least be willing enough to be properly staffed. As we waited in line in the auto department, tons of other staff members just looked at us idly. Walmart wonders why they have a PR problem. Maybe if their store experience was a rung above water torture people would look at them more favorably. read more

I experienced customer service at member services this morning. We waited in line forever just to exchange a shirt for a different size because the member services representatives were taking so long and chit chatting way too much with two different customers that were signing up for memberships. They unfortunately do not have a separate return/exchanges line from a membership line at member services which is why we waited forever to be helped. While we were waiting we complained and asked for more manpower to be sent to member services as the line behind us grew exponentially and we were completely disregarded. SAMS gas decided to add cones where there is only way into the pumps. Doing this has added more congestion and makes it take longer to get gas. Today There was a long line outside of the gas area and when I pulled pass to leave I noticed the left side gas pumps were almost empty so I circle around, I see the cones but go pass them because there are open pumps! Wasting peoples time because others don't know how to drive is bad business. I've been there in the morning g where the attendant helps direct traffic and get people to open pumps! However today the attendant Tyler when I complain to him tells me it's not his job to direct traffic and said I need to get my gas and leave! read more

Sam's Club is a good value, especially if you have monthly prescriptions. Even if you don't, everything is cheaper in bulk. I like this Sam's Club. It's clean and the staff is friendly. The pharmacist bullied me into getting my flu shot when I picked up my prescriptions this. Which is good because I am one of those people who needs to be bullied into that sort of thing. They always have a good selection. And those sample people all around the store. Which is good because one doesn't usually want to buy in bulk what one is trying for the first time. There's a chance of wasting lots of food that way. Last time I was there, I came home with three big tubs of flavored butter. I wouldn't have bought it, if I hadn't first been given samples. Sam's Club is great, but IT'Sthe tire center not so much. DO NOT GET TIRES HERE, ITS NOT WORTH YOUR TIME. I order tires at Sam's Club for my car online, because when I went into the store they couldn't order them for me. When the tires came in, Sam's Club called me to schedule an appointment to put the tires on, but since I was at work I couldn't pick up. I tried calling them back about 30 times over the next few days (NO JOKE) and no one would pick up the phone. So I went into the store to schedule having my tires put on for a specific day. I go in that day, and they tell me my appointment was not actually that day magically anymore. The proceeding conversation in a matter of minutes went from we can still put them on for you today, to we can put them on tomorrow, to we can't put them on till next week. Then the employees start complaining about how they are understaffed, and I shouldn't be giving them grief about it. I asked to talk to the manager to get this situation figured out and the workers got very defensive. At the end of the day, they didn't put my tires on, and when I walked out to my car next to the tire center, I could hear workers through the open garage door complaining about me. It was very disappointing, that you pay for a membership and can't even get a scheduled appointment done. There are cheaper and best places you can get tires, with much better service. read more

Stopped in for my visit to join yesterday. Waited 2 minutes to get signed up by Maria (wonderful). She explained everything quickly and thoroughly with directions. Although I didn't purchase what I originally intended, I was blown away by the low prices. Ended up stocking up on tons of stuff at GREAT prices. Ms. Sarah at checkout was so pleasant and cheerful. Very frustrating! Ordered new tires and waited a week for them to come in only to find out they ordered the wrong tires. Reordered the tires, waited a week, and now no one will will answer the phone. I've been placed on hold hold, someone took my number and said they would call back "in a few minutes" with no call back, and now no one answers the phone.
