I'm not a buyer of large quantities of anything. So,my Sam's Membership has limited usefulness. But,the things I do purchase at Sam's are important to me. Like the frozen premium salmon portions. Perfect. The fresh squeezed orange juice,priceless. Then there's my new discovery. The Chicken Pot Pie. Wow! I've seen it lurking in the refrigerated case for years. However,it's huge and I just never seriously considered it. That is until yesterday when I needed something exactly like it. So,not knowing really what quality or taste to expect, I threw caution to the wind and bought one. Am I glad I did. It's really significantly better than I anticipated. Rich, creamy,nice size chunks of juicy white chicken and plenty of vegetables. The crust browned up nicely and the bottom crust had been pre browned before the filling was added. I dropped off my truck at 7:00 AM for them to check out a flat tire--simple enough, right? Apparently not. Hours later, I'm informed that I need to physically come back just to sign something on a tablet. They can't email it, fax it, text it, or do anything remotely convenient. In 2025, they're still operating like it's 1993. To make matters worse, they have four service bays--all of them completely empty--and still claim they never have appointment availability. How does that even make sense? It's like they're going out of their way to be inefficient. If you're looking for convenience, logic, or basic respect for your time, this place isn't it. 5 Stars because I keep coming back week after week. I have both Costco and Sam's, but Costco is always crowded. I just feel like Sam's has better prices on food and Costco has better prices on QUALITY items (e.g. furniture, etc). Location/Ambiance - This location is off 380 and 75. If you haven't been to a Sam's, it is a place that sells bulk items for cheap prices. Staff - 5/5 - Always friendly and courteous. The best thing about Sam's is that they LABEL their aisles. You do not really need to engage with anyone, and that's great (unlike Costco where they want you to get lost (look it up)). I have purchased many, many items here, so I am not going to mention what I have purchased. Please note that they have many sales each month, so I suggest downloading the app. I will mention 2 things that is AWESOME: 1. Their 'cafeteria', where you can buy a hot dog with a drink for $1.38 for example. I can see why people come here to get food to eat (e.g. lunch/dinner). It is cheap and great quality. 2. Scan & Go App. - You don't even need to go into a line to pay for items. Just scan on your phone and you can leave anytime you want. Can you imagine Costco implementing this? This was my first time at this location and I was having trouble finding the gas station but once I found it Johnny running the gas station was an amazing highlight of my day he made sure to have small talk and make me feel welcome. I usually come to this location for gas because it's the cheapest gas around town. It can get a little busy but what do you expect? Everyone wants in on cheap gas prices! The day I went there was staff out at the pumps sanitizing after each use. This is the first I've seen at a Sams. The really cool thing about this location is you can use the app to pay for gas! Let me start off by saying, I've had nothing but the best experience at this location however, today I was blown away with the AWFUL customer service my husband and I received from Deshawn in the tire department (Sunday around noon). We went to buy tires and was "greeted" but the rudest, most arrogant man I've ever encountered at Sam's. He clearly had no interest in being there, yet helping customers. I plan on calling and speaking to his Supervisor tomorrow, and that is very uncommon for me. That's how awful it was. My husband was asking him a simple question (if we could drop my car off then come back). Clearly, either he didn't understand the question or was just being rude as he seemed bothered we even asked it. We will definitely be taking our tire business elsewhere and would recommend no one interact or give Deshawn your business. Very disappointed. read more

Sam's is great. I've been using their curbside pickup way more than I should, but I honestly love that option. It sometimes takes a while for someone to bring my stuff to my car, but at least they offer it. In the rare occasion that I venture inside, it's not a bad time. Everything's laid out fairly clearly; there's a decent amount of variety and I feel like I can get nearly everything I need; it's not overly crowded, even on a weekend; and if you don't feel like talking to a soul, you can use the scan and go thingy on the app and skip the lines, which is super cool. read more

I visited optical department Friday July 1. I stopped by here to compare contact lens pricing while testing some lenses from my optometrist. They probably deserve 4 stars because their optometrist was out without backup but I didn't need an optometrist and Tammy was so helpful for what I actually needed. They are in network for my insurance but I already have a prescription. McKinney has grown into a large town and she still retains that small town charm when she talks to you. She was very knowledgeable and she filled in some of the gaps I had with multi focal lenses after leaving my optometrist office. For reference I haven't worn contacts in 20 years and the products have had minor changes. Purchasing the lenses here will save me over $100 a year. She also gave me suggestions of how to best deal with the stock supply situation. How far in advance to order etc. Things I haven't considered. I had intended on waiting a few weeks before ordering but I had such a great experience at this location it made want to do all my eye glass shopping here. Even before I purchased I made a comment that I was provided an extra lens to test and my optometrist only provided a case for 2. She immediately retrieved a case. She wears contacts and she gave me recommendations with pros of the one she recommended. She didn't just recommend one, she took me to the display to discuss so I saw prices while we talked and I didn't have to hunt the products down. I completely agreed with what she based the recommendation on - again something I might have overlooked. I never felt rushed, pressured to buy, or stupid to ask a question. I can genuinely say I had fun. They have a good selection of glasses and even carry the brand I want but they do not have the ability to order what I want. To trace a frame I purchase costs extra so I'm a bit limited to contacts but the service was outstanding. I have a Sam's in my town and I stopped at this one since this was along my route when I was running errands. I didn't plan on the purchase yet but I did and I'll be returning because of the service experience. It was Friday and there was never anyone waiting to be served. You won't feel invisible here. All the staff acknowledged I was there and had a friendly smile. I didn't ask about other products but Tammy took me to the display for lens solution and checked me out so I didn't have to use the regular checkouts. read more

Typically, I just check in at the store, but this was the only one that showed up for check-in once... One of the primary reasons I ever got a Sam's membership was gas prices. They go through phases when the prices are no better than the regular stations around the area, but recently this location has been pretty regularly better by a pretty sizable amount. My one knock is that I tend to get gas on Sunday mornings, and the gas station is not open until 0900. read more

Tire department is the worst in the area. With one car in front of me I was told a rotation and balance would take one hour. I watch as they finish the car in front of me while two guys work on One car. Then they pull my vehicle in and immediately pull two more vehicles in and begin to work on three cars at once with only two service techs. Needless to say A 30 minute service has now taken over two hours to complete. If you need tire service from Sam's try the one in Plano off of 75 and Springcreek. They are much more efficient and do a far better job Update: so to top off my experience not only did it take two hours and 15 minutes to rotate my tires with no line. The tire technicians manage to break all four center caps and scratch every wheel. read more

After 30 minutes of wasting my time to get registered, I got a postcard in the mail with the WRONG NAME for both my first name and my last name wasn't correct either. I called the 1-800 number on the post card to talk to them abut my experience and to also get them to change my name and take me off of the auto-renewal plan. No one answered after it ringing for 15 minutes. ---------- This was literally my SECOND poor experience at Sams club with this membership. We love Sam's, and this one is no exception. If you shop here enough, you know the products that get you the best bang for your buck. Yes, the food court is cheap and good. I love the hot dog combo for $1.50. Hubby loves the pizza. Sams also has awesome beef (hard to believe they are even associated with Walmart?) And they also have fabulous high thread count sheets! Yes, sheets! The muffins in the bread section are super yummy as well, and inexpensive. We stock up on bulk paper towels, dog food, shampoo, tooth brushes, body wash, wine, etc. We have always had good customer service at this location, and can get in and out pretty quickly. read more

We have been shopping at this Sams club for years. My complaint is not directed at the store or their employees. My complaint is their " convenient app" . I cannot even tell everyone how many times I have used scan and go, walk to the front of the store and about to walk through, app glitches, deletes all and I am left hand scanning at register after I already did this through the entire store. I also cannot tell you how one week I can order an item for pick up and it's available, yet the next week it's not available. I walk in and there are pallets of what I am trying to purchase. How can it be an in-store exclusive one week yet the next it's not available for pick up, shipping or in store but yet I walk in and there sits pallets available???? I am beyond frustrated. I've had zero success with the app. This morning I spent 2 hours loading my cart for a pick up. The first hour I had everything in my cart and suddenly I hit check out and bam just like that my entire cart is at 0. I re enter everything go to check back out and it redirects me to a page to sign in. The page is blank. I go to enter my account number on the account page and it again says "sign in" with a blank page. I'm about to ditch the whole membership and head back to Costco. How can a multi million dollar company have such a crappy app service. Aren't Sams and Walmart owned by the same. Why can WalMart app be so simply used yet Sams glitches non stop.
