    Pretty good!

"Red and white, blue suede shoes, I'm Uncle Sam, how do you do?" (Jerry Garcia/Robert Hunter) When we saw a Groupon for reduced membership to Sam's Club, well that was an offer we couldn't refuse. At one time or another we've belonged to B.J.'s Wholesale Club or Costco, so we thought it would be interesting to go for the Triple Crown of big Membership box stores. We knew exactly where Sam's was, and if you've ever been to Stew Leonard's in Newington, you know too -they pretty much share the same parking lot. But that got me to thinking, where else are Sam's Club around here? I figured there'd be another one in a big shopping area like North Haven or Manchester or Enfield or maybe near metro Springfield. I was wrong -I wasn't even close. The Sam's in Newington is the only one in Connecticut and the next closest one to me is 62 miles away in Kingston, NY. Our visit to Sam's started with a stop at the service desk where we exchanged our e-mails for proper membership cards. That transaction went smooth as glass -the woman we dealt with was super competent and friendly and moved us along promptly. Next we hit the aisles and walked through the place - Grocery, Home, Electronics, Household, Health and Beauty, Toys, Auto, Clothing.... on and on and on. Eventually our cart had eight items - two sushi trays ($5.98 and $8.98) for lunch, a case of blueberry-lemon drinks ($5.91), a big bag of frozen mixed seafood ($12.78), a big box of 36 individually packaged rice cake snacks ($14.13), a maple dressing salad mix ($2.98), a packet of waffle cookies ($5.78) and a three pound rotisserie chicken ($4.98). The chicken was great - it yielded two meals for us three times - the first was a topping for that salad mix, then as a dinner with potatoes and Brussels sprouts, and finally as a main ingredient in a Chicken and broccoli stir fry. We were pleased with our first visit to Sam's- variety was huge, pricing was reasonable, the store's layout and aesthetics were fine, and the employee service was very good. Combining visits to Sam's with Stew Leonard's seems like a solid strategy we'll be adopting going forward.

That location is more like Costco or BJ's for me when it comes to selection of food to choose from including prepared meals, bakery items and more. They ran out of ice cream because the soft serve machine isn't working plus they didn't have Pizza Pretzels that are featured in food court menu. Some areas such as clothing department were blocked by carts for maintenance. They also don't have enough straws for drinks. That's a bit of shame for us trying to shop comfortably. The food from the food court (including pizza) however tasted really good.

It was my first time here and I was impressed! Really clean and organized. The employees were super friendly and the bathrooms were clean. We are looking forward to returning and shopping for the holidays!

All of the positions that I applied to Sam's Club

I applied 11 times and never received an email from any manager. I have a lot of experience for the positions that I applied for and still never heard from anyone. I don't get how company are hiring for employment but don't want to hire anyone at all ?

    Price wasn't bad $10+

Sam Club was busy yesterday the parking lot but inside was pretty okay. Been here several tine I was disappointed that my Ivory Deodorant wasn't there but I was impressed by the broccoli salad; the cooked grilled chicken and the blueberries, cranberries, walnuts and bleu cheese salad they all worth the prices for each. There was a line and a lady said I will take the next on #2 I love that proactiveness let me help to get the lines down. The young man was very helpful in the vegetable area he was unloading tomatoes etc. later a coworker came to help him so he could take lunch. Kudos to you Betances she was very friendly as well. My friend order the gallon waters so we had to go to the back to pick them up and Reuben was very nice in help getting the waters on the truck. His Boss Vinny came out to assist him. Loved it because it shows TEAM work. Great experience always but I decided to write a review today.

Been going here for years to get my 24 oz pack of diet pepsi case. The store manager think it's customers and get this product back in stock. People are very unhappy with the smaller bottles 16.9 of the diet pepsi.

Clean, good location, plenty of parking, good deals on gas... What else can you ask for. The only thing I wish for is that they could carry a larger selection of children's necessities, more diaper brands and so on. I still have to go to BJ's for the more family oriented selection vs Business.

I brought the car in for an oil change and to troubleshoot a lack of heat on the driver side. They advised they confirmed the heat was working despite not letting it run long enough to possibly get up to temp. I told them I would go run some errands and come back to show them what the issue was. Before I was able to get back I was called and asked to come back becasue the bay the car was in "had some fluid" in it. I asked what kind and they said they would figure it out. it was oil. The filter gasket was cracked and it leaked nearly all the new oil out in my 15 minutes of running around. When it was back in the bay they also left the plastic skid plate hanging by one screw under the filter and I could see the oil dripping off of it. #1. Troublehsoot the customer complaints #2. How are you going to not notice a cracked filter gasket, or did you just not care? #3. If you can't identify that a mystery fluid in the bay is engine oil you should lose your ASE certification. #4. After coming back the following day (and sitting in their lobby for hours, my airbag light was on (new) and I was told they don't touch airbags and I need to go to the dealer. They did fix that when I asked them how they replaced the heater core without taking the dash apart which would have required removing at least the cable for the passenger airbag indicator. That only took them 20 minutes to fix after I told them I would be having the dealer invoice them if I needed to go there. I have the lifetime alignment service so that is the only thing the vehicle will be back in for and only because I'm sure they won't refund it several years after purchase.

My car never left the space I parked it in. Why bother making an appointment if they're not even going to TRY to honor it? I took my key back and left with no oil change (no apology, either). All in all these people wasted four hours of my day. Congratulations, Firestone, you have permanently lost a longtime customer.

Another guy said the quote did not include installation fee, did not include the cost of tire sensors ($49 each tire). This added about $400 to the initial quote. Then they said one tire had a broken lug nut and they couldn't get it off the car!!! How is it that a tire repair shop does not know how to get a broken lug nut off?? I had to take the car to another repair shop up the street to get the broken lug nut off (cost another $110). Now the "low tire" indicator is lit on the dashboard. Apparently the $200 sensors are not working correctly. The guy at Town Fair said "it will go off after you drive for awhile". That didn't happen! Had to take the car back the next day. Another guy comes out with a hand- held device and adjusted something under the dashboard to reset the sensors. Apparently, he's the only one who knew to do this! As I briefly perused the inventory, most of his tires have a lot of life left. Will you get a matching set of four? Probably not, but can you argue with $100 to replace ALL your tires? Perfect for someone with a beater that just uses their car to get around town and doesn't see any sense in spending much for new tires. More important to this review: my situation. Balancing tires is somewhat of an art form. And god did I have some horrendous tires and wheels on my truck. Honestly, they were beyond repair. But even so, Rolando and his helper ALMOST got rid of all the vibration related to poor balancing on my original wheels. It was a good job given what he had to work with. But finally, I had it with the stock tires and wheels. So two weeks later, I craigslisted me a nice set of gently used alloy wheels with Goodyear Kevlar All-Terrain tires on them, and I took them straight to Ronaldo. He ran into some challenges during the balancing process, but the result? PURRRRRRFECT. No vibration whatsoever. And amazingly, he charges $5 to mount and balance a tire. CRAZY! I tip him every time. Technically, the total cost of services rendered during my two visits was $55, but I've paid him $80. Worth it. Yeah, it's just a little tire shop crammed into a garage in New Britain. But I made it clear I wanted to keep my tire if at all possible, and they removed a 1 inch screw and just charged me for the patch, which I would have to say is honesty since I dropped it off and picked it up.
