Just relocated from the West Coast. I've been a Costco member for decades (Sams Club we're pretty nonexistent in my city). I was sad to learn that there aren't any Costco's here (yet) but excited to finally get to shop at a Sams Club. We picked up a membership in Hilton Head/Bluffton and we're pretty disappointed with the small store and limited items. We gave this location in Pooler a shot, and while it's a bit larger and has a little more stuff, it's still no comparison to Costco. I'd really hoped for more, but the GF items are almost non existent at both locations (celiac family) and the selections for electronics, watches, household items etc are pretty limited, the lines are primarily self checkout, items are pricey, comparatively, we don't really find many things we want to take home, which was never the issue with the competitor. I don't think once the Costco opens in Pooler that we'll continue to keep our Sam's membership. Gave it a shot, but were terribly disappointed in the selection and variety.... read more

I made the mistake of buying tires here. When they came in, I made three trips to get them put on, to be told they were too busy. I got a refund and did what I should have done to start with, buy from a family owned business who cared. read more

I placed an order online to pick up in the store. They sold the product that I had ordered and also delayed my pickup time by a day. I live an hour away from Sams and was going to do my bi- weekly grocery shopping while I picked up my order. So by them changing my pick up date by a day was already an inconvenience for me. When I got the call from the service member telling me that they had sold the product I had already paid for I was told there was nothing else they could do for me. I even called back to see if they could transfer my order to the Savannah location, I was told again that I would have to reorder the product through the Savannah location. Now I'm paying twice for a product they sold after I had already bought it, until I get my refund in about 3 days. The woman on the phone did not have very good customer service skills either. I usually prefer this location over the Savannah one, but lately they haven't been that great. read more

Purely ok. Produce & other products are not rotated as they should, signing sometimes confusing, quality not to Costco standard. Some good pricing, though Walmart across the street, may be the better option. Good gas price. read more

Tire center is horrible ! Never buy tires here rude customer service , horrible management , and slow service , they caused $1000 worth of damage to my car telling me that it was caused by some one putting tires on my car before today but this was the first set of tires I have ever put on my car way to go sams club you lost a customer read more

Had a horrible experience in Sam's in Pooler on 1/16/17. I decided to try the order online and pick up service. This was my second time. The first time I did it, the kiosk you go to to check in was broke so I went to the customer service desk to find out how to pick up my order. It took forever and they forgot an item that I ordered but I didn't find out until I got home so I let it go and shrugged it off as a they are just starting this up experience. I thought I would try it again since I placed one with Wal Mart and figured that I would just do all of my shopping from both places at one time. I received an email at 10:32 AM telling me that my order was ready at Sam's but I had put in between 3-4 PM as my pickup time for both places so I decided to wait as my Wal Mart order was not ready. I received a phone call at 2;50 PM from Wal Mart that my order from them was ready so I drove up and met the lady at the designated spot she told me to go to. Not only was she (Jill) awesome as far as customer service goes she even gave me a first time gift bag with goodies in it. Wal Mart pick up service was awesome!! I get to Sam's and like the first time, the Kiosk for pick up is broke so I find a cashier and ask her what I need to do to pick up my order. She attempts to help me but I couldn't shake the feeling that messing with my online order was the last thing she wanted to do! I got there at approximately 3 PM. The girl walked around looking for my paperwork and as far as I know has never found it. I had my receipt that I printed and showed her all that I had ordered as well as the credit card receipt that I paid for it. By this time about 15 minutes has gone by and still they have not found my order that I ordered online and received an email that it was ready at 10:32 AM for pick up. ( It's 3:15-3:20 PM by now) !!!! I asked to speak to the manager because not only was it taking a long time to find but there were three items that they canceled because the claim was that it wasn't in stock. I am a frequent customer in that store and I knew that was not the case. I knew the items were in stock and called it to the cashiers attention. Ironic as it may seem about 10 more minutes later, the items that weren't in stock were found by the cashier and put in my buggy. This tells me that the person pulling did not even bother to look for them!!! It took the manager forever and when a manager arrived, it was the meat manager, not the one that oversees the pick up service!!! She spoke to me and apologized and agreed that this should not be happening. By now it's approximately 3:40 PM!! I could have physically gone through the store myself and shopped and been in the check out aisle. The manager also said that she would get with the manager in charge of this and let them know what happened. I thanked her and went toward the door to leave with my receipt I had printed online as this is all I had for proof that I had paid for my items. As I approach the door, the lady checking receipts tells me that what I have is not good enough for me to have. She goes to the customer service desk of which no one there knew anything about the situation and asks someone if I can leave the store with my paid for items and receipt in hand!!!!! The customer service lady then walks around trying to find a manager!! I am fuming by now as it is already been an hour since I came in to pick up my online order that was ready at 10:32 AM. I walk up to where the cashiers and door lady are congregating and let them know quick just how upset I am. Luckily the manager that I had talked to was walking by and I hollered her name and explained that now I was not being allowed to leave the store because they lost my paperwork and apparently my receipt wasn't good enough. She walked over and apologized and explained to the door lady that if she had have looked she would have seen that my items were paid for and it was not my fault that they lost my paperwork!!!!! By the way, my purchased items were in the cooler because I had refrigerated items. Makes sense huh??? I My suggestion, do not use Sam's order online and pick up service as they have no clue what they are doing!!!! Wal Mart in Pooler did a wonderful job on their part but Sam's needs to go back to the drawing board on what they are doing!!!!!!!! read more

First time to Sam's gas pumps. No receipt printed and was told to go inside to customer service for receipt ( go park and go inside main store). One cashier at desk and about 10 people in line ahead of us. Friday lunch hour after Christmas and 1 person working desk??? Want be getting gas here again!!! read more

I have always loved Costco, but Sam's Club is our only choice. It's half the size, not a very good bakery or prepared food section. I will only go there for basic bulk items, nothing special about Sam's. read more
