This is my usual haunt because it is the closest between me and my mom living wise and probably the largest with the Super Walmart next door.....duh right of course it's the largest there's a Walmart right next door and it is Super lol. Nonetheless the place is usually clean no food or product out of place defrosting or running up my membership fees or child's parent less (you know what I'm saying). Club closes at 8pm on Saturday (04/11/2020). I showed up to the front door at 7:25pm. I was turned away buy an arrogant kid named "Matthew" (on his name tag). I asked him if I can come in to buy one item for my family before Easter Sunday (which they will be closed). He laughed and said no, the store was full. FULL?!!? I offered to wait outside until another customer left, so I could go in (COVID-19 rules). He laughed and told me "no". Not an "I'm sorry" or "sorry this is company policy". Just a dumb**s smirk, like he was better than the customers funding his paycheck. I am an essential worker and just worked 36 hours straight prior to me rushing to the store before they closed (at 8:00pm). I was 35 minutes early, and still got turned away. I guess dealing with sick patients and dead bodies for 36 hours straight isn't good enough for "Matthew" at Sam's Club in Secaucus to allow a paying member to come into the club to make a purchase 35 minutes prior to closing. Clearly his goal in life was to be a wholesale club "bouncer". Goal accomplished bro. If you're gonna shut the doors in members faces, just close at 7:30pm AND STATE IT ON THE WEBSITE. I like coming here for bulk items. Bulk food items like cereals, coffee, water, etc......is priced really reasonable. One thing that is really great is the app that allows you to scan your cart, check out/ pay and exit the store. read more

This location has ample parking and the store is usually well stocked during the week. From Friday through Monday, the shelves tend to get very bare and are not re-stocked. The store and bathrooms are usually pretty clean. Customer service and cashiers can be challenging. Expect long lines that do not move quickly on any day of the week!!! Cashiers seem to have no regard for the long lines and chat among each other not caring that the line is long. If you have a questions, the floor staff usually cannot answer it nor can anyone else for that matter. read more

Sucks!!!!! Long looooooooong long lines. Plus the pharmacy does not even know when the store closes. I HAD to speak to someone in the pharmacy as its impossible to get through to the store. How....HOW..... HOW.....is it possible to work at a store and NOT know the hours?????? I won't be coming here to fill any prescriptions ever. If you don't know when the store closes then how can I trust you to fill a prescription? Aside from this the store is clean, and has a decent variety but the snack bar has very limited seating due to the fact unattended children are allowed to sit there for hours on end. And people that are not actually Shoppers just hang out there to guzzle down countless gallons of " free" soda and take advantage of the air conditioning and or heat depending on the weather. I just moved into town and decided to see if I could try out Sam's Club. I love Costco so it's already got its work cut out. I've been in line for almost 20 minutes and there are about 13 sets of members or potential members in line behind me. I came here to see if I could get a trial membership, but now I'm not even sure if I want one. I feel bad for the 1 woman working the counter because there are 6 registers and she is the only one. They don't give trial memberships unless you go on the website and get a one day pass. I'm either going to try BJs trial or stick with Costco. I don't think Sam's Club is worth the headache. BJs is the only one with a free trial and promotions running right now with $50 gift card to restaurants.com so they might be the winner. Woop woop Sam's Club, I'm out! read more

I'm highly disappointed with this Sam's Club. My boyfriend and I stopped in to grab a few things and the cashier was very disrespectful. When he approached her to ask whether her line was open, she disregarded him and tried to take another customer behind us. So I joined the line with him and she started getting upset. When he went into his wallet for his card and realized that he lost his card, she got mad and started talking about taking the next customer and started rushing us while rolling her eyes and huffing and puffing about whether we had it or not. Management needs to retrain their employees as not to take their own personal emotions out on customers especially if they do not enjoy their job. I definitely won't be coming back! read more

This Sam's Club is right next to the Walmart in Secaucus. It is a large, general wholesale store that requires a membership fee (~$40)and sells in bulk. Most of the products cater to the small businesses, so you will find a range of very very cheap quality items (ranging from food, drinks, and cooking/serving supplies). There is a small selection of better quality food. Many families (with closet space) also shop here and buy items in bulk. You can generally save $1 or $2 on food items bought in bulk. Other supplies such as paper towels and bathroom tissues can save you upwards of $5 or more relative to what they cost individually. A few complaints about this Sam's Club is that they do not always stock their items, or they run out too quickly. Another serious complaint is that the employees leave out foods that require refrigeration. I've seen yogurt, milk, eggs, frozen foods, and fresh meats left out on a cart just getting warm. This makes me wonder if the refrigerated foods I buy had at some time been left out as well... The lines here are also very long, although every once in a while, they will have someone come by with a scanning gun while you're in line, and scan everything in your cart. That way, once you pull up to the register, you just pay without having to unload the items. Although I do go to the Sam's Club to take advantage of the cheap products (milk, eggs, and bread are super cheap here), I prefer shopping at BJ's generally for the quality, even if it is a bit more expensive. read more

I want to say a special gracias, to the wonderful anonymous (!) manager who helped hubby Ric when he shopped at the Secaucus Sam's on Monday. My husband walks with a cane, plus his eyesight is only so-so. This warm, helpful manager saw he was having some difficulty, and stepped right up, graciously assisting Ric in locating several items he was unable to find. These places are hugely crowded, often challenging - and I see by the reviews, some shopper experiences are not exactly 'stellar'. But we wanted to thank that cool manager all the same. read more

I visit about once a month to pick up toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning supplies, fruit, booze just about anything I need in bulk. Prices are excellent and I save loads - just need to find the space in my closet! Only complaint is that they don't always have the items I look for - they sell out quickly. They also have excellent prices on tv's - photo department pumps surprisingly good quality photos, and their xmas items can't be beat. Membership is only about $40 a year. read more

I like this SAM's because it's clean and seems pretty new. It not usually too crowded either. My favorite thing is they sell SmartWater for less than $1/bottle, so I can stock up and not pay $2/bottle in NYC. They have a little bit of everything... in bulk! There are so many Club's to choice from and buy your day to day groceries or your seasonal or outdoor living, but the one thing that I come back on a weekly basis to this Sam's Club in Secaucus is your Employees. I'm happy to say that I'm always greeted upon entering the club and exiting, I do apologize for not knowing them on a personal level to give you names but 2 ladies in particular and an older gentlemen stand out always with a smile and greetings. In your customer department you have a young man "Dionis" this gentlemen always has a smile and very helpful, he went out of his way to help me in the Tire Department where I was not helped after waiting to be taken care of and Dionis spoke to the gentlemen on duty so I can be schedule for the early morning to take care of my car's new 4 tires, the following day I was greeted with a smile and was taken care of right away. In another occasion it was pouring rain and he gave me a garbage bag so my kids wouldn't get wet, he is always helpful and very polite young man. Bakery Department, what can I say about all these wonderful and helpful ladies. I work in a Hotel in New York and we always have events and birthdays where I always send to make the 3 leches cake and chocolate and vanilla cup-cakes, I think I'm the only person that orders the same cake (3 leches with the Strawberries and chocolate on top) and the butter cream cup cakes (just plain white and chocolate frosted) Even when I call to place my order over the phone the recognize me immediately, that is great because that means is always going to be done the way I like it, and always is. My son turn 11 last week and I send to make a full sheet 3 leches cake with a baseball design as well as 2 boxes of cupcakes they were surprised when I order with a different design, my son loved it.They surely get an A from me. Meat Department, these guys are always busy inside but they always have a minute to help a girl out when I can't find what I want, the store has a great selection of meats, I don't have to go anywhere else to find what I need. I also like your well range of beers and liquor, I was looking to buy a special beer my neighbor likes, and I said well I will check Sam's club they carry so many different beers and to my surprise you do carry Sierra Nevada beer which took a load of my mind and got my neighbor 2 boxes, he was surprise I found them and was very thankful. I do not write reviews often, tending to only do so when the place I'm reviewing does something wonderful or something terrible. I'm sure you can tell by the star rating which category THIS review falls under. On three separate occasions, my poor mother has bought a package of steaks labeled "skirt steak" at this particular Sam's Club. The "skirt" steaks she purchased on each of these three occasions has ended up in the same place--my dog's food bowl. The steaks were tough, dry, rubberized, gummy--inedible. There are very few let-downs in our privileged Western lifestyles that compare to coming home thinking you're going to have a soft, juicy, sizzling "churrasco" and getting a piece of chewing tobacco instead. I can tell you I've seen this before from local, independent supermarkets. Selling a cut of mediocre meat at the price of an identical-looking superior cut. This is the first time I've ever seen this tactic--if it IS one at all--at a business of national prominence. The only other explanation for the toughness of the meat is that it's been so mistreated--frozen, thawed out, re-frozen, etc.--that by the time it reaches the consumers it's lost any semblance of what it once was. Here, I paid for churrasco and probably got either (1) falda, or (2) a churrasco that's been through Auschwitz and back. Never buying meat here again. read more

Sam and I have a complicated relationship. On the one hand, I'm pretty sure you can get most of what you need for comparable pricing at the Walmart next door. In addition, the checkout lines at this place are ridiculous, esp if you're shopping here anytime between 11am and 2pm during the week or on the weekends. Let's face it, unless you're the Duggar family, you're not going to finish the 5lbs block of cheese. Having said that, Sams is the place to go when you need to entertain. And despite the $50 basic membership cost (they often run an in-store special where that most of the cost of the membership can be offset if you sign up and get accepted for their instore credit card), the few times a year we do entertain really make the membership worthwhile. The rest of the year, we spend less than $100 per month here. If you're looking for a TV, this is the place to look. If you're looking for Angus skirt steak, the quality and pricing can't be beat. Seedless watermelon can be had for just about $5, same as a rotisserie chicken. You will probably end up buying stuff you weren't expecting to but Sam's also carries products that you would not expect, esp if you check online at their furniture. Sam's optical gets 4 stars and here's why: 1) my contact lenses came to $13.87 per box when the best online price is $14.95 and 1800contacts is charge closer to $25, 2) my doctor visit was short and to the point. The optometrist unfortunately is only available on Mondays and Fridays from about 10am-2pm and I highly recommend you make an appointment. read more

If you want a mattress AND TV delivered, good luck! Though the associates will tell you over the phone that it is no big deal, only be $100, and can be delivered that same day...that is not the case. After spending over an hour after paying for my mattress and television they inform me it will cost $257 to deliver it and won't be there for 5 days. I would recommend going anywhere else or coming with your own moving company/uhaul. read more

I went to this store to buy a TV last night at 6:25pm. I saw the TV was I stock. I live 45 minutes away, but wanted to buy it that day. When I arrived there were not any TVs present in the spot of the one I want to buy. I told an employee that I saw ot was available online, but was present on the floor. The employee went to a supervisor, Alicia (I think that is her name because she refused to come to help even though the store was slow and she was not doing anything). The employee stated that the store did have more TVs available but the manager said they could not drop anymore tonight. This seems weird to me because the online listed did not state limited availability per day, so I inquire more asking if the TV is in the back why would you not allow me to buy one. He said that the manager said she was not going to use a forklift to get it down. I was shocked that this was the level of customer service come g from a manager. If they were busy I would understand but a group of employees were talking at the customer service area. I drove 10 minutes to Best Buy and brought a TV there. I will change my membership to Costco soon for better customer service. The employee name was Tionne by the way. I hope this is addressed. read more

I've been shopping at this specific store for more than 10 years and I've never NEVER been disrespected and experienced racism in this store until yesterday. Yesterday my dad and I went to Sam's club to do some shopping and my dad wanted popcorn. He sees an employee and asks her which aisle is it, and the employee first says "what? Go learn how to pronounce it first and then come back." Excuse me? I'm sorry but what? And then she proceeds to say "I know English, I came to this country and learned it and you should to." My dad knows English, he speaks fluently English, he is a businessman and has to speak English during his meetings and business conferences, but there is some words he can't pronounce correctly; however, you could still understand him. My dad didn't say anything and left, he doesn't want to take action, but I will. How could you ever say that to a person? What if the customer had speech deficiencies and she said that? I believe this isn't the first time she has said this to someone, and I will take action. This store and their employees has always treated me and my family good, but today was unacceptable. I've worked in customer service and I know first hand that some complaints are nonsense, but this isn't. Not only I thought how my dad was treated, but I'm thinking about how other people could have been treated with the same disrespect with this specific individual. read more

Summary: Store management clearly does not take pride in their business. Details: It is evident from the gecko that this store is simply mismanaged. I've never seen a parking lot at Costco in such disarray, but maybe all Sam's Clubs are like this? Just driving through the parking lot of the Secaucus Sam's Club at night requires extra and the combination of littered shopping carts and malfunctioning parking lights is dangerous and gives a very bad first impression. On the plus side, I do think the parking spaces are a bit wider than the slots 50 yards down at the WalMart. Typically when I enter the store, I have to exit right away to grab one of the carts in the parking lot which is just another annoyance. Just like WalMart and Costco they have a store greeter, but unlike the two I still can't figure out what this greeter does. They just seem to stand there and chill. Would be great if they were fetching shopping carts or handing out some coupons. The inside of the store is surprisingly modern feeling for a warehouse (lots of white paint over the steel). On weekends the store can become a bit crowded around the food vendors. I've found that Costco offers better samples, but people must still love the idea of free samples as there are crowds at the Sam's club demo stations. Would be great if they had areas to park the cart or even smaller parking carts as it can be very difficult to navigate around the demo stations (reminds me of the parking lot). The produce is of subpar quality and Costco does a much better job Once in awhile I've seen flies swirling above some of the fruits. Once there was a huge of about 50 shipping crates of tangerine's that were nearly empty besides a few of the unsold tangerines. I thought I was going to get the last few until I realized the tangerines were rotting! I have no idea why they leave spoiled food for sales. Who would buy this crap? The Over The Boarder tortilla chips are pretty tasty. Once, when I could not find them I asked an employee who was on his lunch break where they were and he took a few minutes to help me attempt to find the morsels. We never did find the chips, but it was nice to see someone trying to assist. Other employee's have not hit been as helpful. As an example, I once asked a fishmonger if they carried any Atlantic or even some tasty Alaskan Salmon. The fishmonger indicated that he did not speak English. While its outstanding that Sam's Club can offer multiple languages to their customers, I'm not sure if this employee could read proper food handing instructions in English. Another time, I asked a fishmonger if they carried Atlantic or Alaskan salmon and he said he never heard of either type! Product quality and selection could also use some improvement. Costco seems to have better and more interesting products. The Sam's club products sells the big brands such as Craft, Sara Lee, and Nabisco. Costco appears to offer more health conscience brands that tend to be of higher quality. The customer service line is very length and it discourages folks from returning goods. The checkout lines are also very slow (expect 15 minute delay) and there are always a few closed lanes. Upon exiting the store there is a line as employee's review your order. This process can be slow and it shows that the store management does not trust the members of Sam's club. Overall, I think other wholesale retailers yield a much more pleasant shopping experience. read more

I have to preface this by saying I'm a Costco loyalist. I'm not a member of Sam's Club but I have been tempted. It's closer to my house and generally less crowded then Costco and this is a really nice, fairly new location. I go there to buy beer, wine, and liquor because you don't need a membership for that. I usually look around when I'm there and they do have great prices but I prefer the brands and selection at Costco. If I needed more then one club store membership I would join. read more

The Warehouse shopping spectrum will forever be Costo greater than Sam's Club way greater than BJ's. I think Wal-Mart is an evil conglomerate but a promo rate via LivingSocial sucked me in. As a single person, I don't have any need for a swimming-pool sized vat of mustard so I stick to the perimeter. The bakery is great and I've gotten several sheet cakes from there for work parties. If you forget to order ahead they will personalize a cake from the case for you for free. The rotisserie chickens are really good and significantly larger than the ones from Wal-Mart next door for the same price. I don't want to think of what kind of poultry hormones I might be ingesting. I've generally been pleased with the quality of the fish and snag one of those huge salmon fillets every couple of weeks. I'm weirdly addicted to the giant pizza slices at the cafe but if you get a whole pie have them send it through twice or the crust will be soggy. Wine and liquor prices are decent and if you throw a few good parties, it's worth the cost of membership. (Pro Tip: You don't have to have a membership to buy alcohol or get glasses). Don't expect a lot of samples here like Costco does. I've only seen them out on weekends and their trays are always empty (disclaimer: I was a sample girl at Costco and my trays stayed ready to go). Summary: It'll do for now, since the parking at the Clifton Costco is a nightmare. read more

Ok, the tire People here are the BEST!! I can not explain just how much we needed someone to bail us out, and of all the places we called, only SAMS club cared. Who would have ever thunk it? We got a flat on our way back to Maryland from Rhode Island, just before crossing the GW bridge. It was 4:45 in the evening. We called everyplace within 20 miles, and noone was willing to help. We couldn't go very far on the spare, it was a donut and already super old and worn. SAMS tire place said that even though they were closing and already not taking more customers they would wait for us. It took us more than 30 minutes to get there, but sure enough they were there waiting. What a gift! We chose some nice tires, and they started working right away. There was one customer ahead of me in the line to pay, and before I got to the counter, they were back with my keys. 4 new tires on and balanced in less than 15 minutes. It was like a pit stop. I know they wanted to get home, but they really did us a solid! I can't say enough about a business that will take care of customers. SAMS may not be a mom and pop operation, but they sure acted like one this evening, and our whole family is grateful for it. Please patronize this place. read more

Okay after reading some of the reviews I think I should add my two cents. I am going to start with the cafe. The pizzas suck they taste like garbage truck leakage. Especially when is made by a rude lady who is wider than the holland tunnel which I won't name is making them. The hot dogs is okay but they taste like cheap generic store brand. Now if you are a fan of pickles then the chicken bites are for you. That's what they really taste like. They only advantage that Sam's club has over Costco is there soda machines. They have both coke and Pepsi products. Don't eat here if you don't want to have a love affair with your toilet. Save your self the trouble and eat elsewhere. read more

The Eco-Drink guy is here giving out samples, damn that stuff tastes good

I was in the Secacus store on Mon., Mar. 11, 2019 and asked a sales associate, who was standing near the podium above the check out terminals, if she knew where to find an item - a Seagate Backup Plus 4TB Portable External Hard Drive. I was unable to find it myself either in the electronic section or in the locked cage for small, expensive items. She deferred to another employee (manager?) who was stationed at the podium. He contacted someone named "Chris" in Electronics and Chris came to the podium area and together, they all discussed and checked their cell phones for the item. It took a long time and they never gave me a definitive answer or so much as looked at me. They actually didn't communicate anything with me at all - they just discussed among themselves. I kept following them around hoping they would actually produce the item or make other arrangements. At one point, Chris left for the back area of the store with yet another employee. I assumed he had gone to check on the item from a stock room, but several minutes when by and he never returned. None of the other employees on the mission ever gave me any information whatsoever. I wasted a long time with unhelpful people who either were clueless or disinterested in a sale. On the plus side, I found the same drive at two other retailers for a similar discounted price. My membership with Sam's Club is expiring soon. Maybe I should pass on renewal this time. read more

We don't get here as often as we would like as space is a premium in our home. You need alot of storage as they sell in bulk like most big box stores. But, we have gotten great deals on a flat screen TV and laptop and will go here when having a large group of people over for a BBQ or party. We did comparsion for our TV and laptop and these prices were better then most other stores. They can get very crowded on the weekends so try to get there early if possible. This place is huge. Came here to see everything they have and was greeted at the door they said welcome which is nice and decided for me and my Wife to go check out the food here and get a bite to eat. We ate at their cafe which had pizza and a drink for a cheap price which is nice next we went to look around and pick out things to buy we chose a lot of stuff then waited a huge line. But this is the part that made me give low stars to this place. The cashier tells us we need a membership card to buy stuff and that we can't buy anything without it. So first you don't advertise that you need that nor say at the door that you have to have one ? This is my first time at a SAMs club and your going to not say nothing after I wait this huge line ?
