    Amazing food!

We are staying in the hotel across the street for my daughter's graduation, and after finding out that we had somewhere between a 20 and 45 minute wait at a major national chain, we decided to pop across the street and check out this amazing diner. It's almost like this place has 750 items on the menu, not quite, but there is something for everyone here. We shared around the table, all the various things that we ordered, including, Broasted Chicken, chicken, salad, croissant, patty melt, Coney, Mediterranean, green beans, Kafta, home fries, mashed potatoes, and gravy, and probably the best mac & cheese I've ever had. There was nothing at the table tonight that was not exceptional, and it is a lot of food so you are likely to have some wonderful leftovers. It has been decades since I have been into a classic American diner like this, and there are options for literally just about anyone. If you'd like to explore new food, this is a truly epicurean delight.!

I had the best Swiss mushroom burger I've ever ate, and it was much larger than I was expecting, but delicious. And their onion rings are amazing..

The interior is perfect for a diner. The staff is friendly and the food came out quickly. Unfortunately, there is no gluten free bread and limited GF options. I ordered the Famous Greek Salad with chicken and it was $13.99 but not worth the money in my opinion. Prices are expensive for the quality of food you receive.

We had never been to Sam's Diner before & we were pleasantly surprised. We will definitely be back. We had the Big Breakfast & the Western Omelet. Both were delicious!

Average food but fairly cheap prices. Place needs to be spruced up as it doesn't look very clean. Owner did not seem very cordial.

Corned beef hash is homemade with onions and green peppers, very good. My friend had the Greek omlet and said it was excellent.

We were greeted upon entry and sat promptly as well. It is in a strip mall with a large ceiling, but it still had that small mom and pop diner feel to it. The waitress team was present and took our orders and the food was out in a short window. The steak and eggs really hit the spot. The eggs were real eggs. The color and texture were there. The potatoes had a hefty crunch which I liked. I asked for the steak medium well, it came out more well for sure. I wasn't gonna complain, it had a good char and it went well with the scrambled eggs. The skillet was a massive portion! Holy cow, my mom ate half and still packed the to go box! I know in some previous reviews that the coffee was highly recommended. My mom enjoyed her coffee. A good homely and warm feeling brought upon the breakfast. Awesome place in my eyes. If I'm ever out in the Toledo area again, I know where an awesome breakfast is to be had!

There were two people who came before us, and then a group of 14, and then my husband and me, followed by another bunch of people into a restaurant that was already packed. The waitresses did not even bat an eyelid. They were very polite and were busy doing their work. They were helping seat people as well as checking out people who had just eaten. We only waited about 15 - 20 mins. In the meantime, we chatted with the locals, who told us how often they came here just to eat the pies. When we got seated, the first thing we ordered and got started on were the AMAZING pies (chocolate PB for me and custard for my husband). Oh my God, they were out of the world yummy! We got to watch the ladies on the grill as they made the food. My husband ordered he Swiss steak and I had the double hamburger with all the fixings. The food is great but so are the people who work here --they are just so friendly, have worked here for years and truly care. You don't see this anymore. If I lived here, I would come here once a week to chitchat with them and eat PIE!! Make sure you come here. This place is a gem and has been here since 1948.

Our waitress also forgot my water at first, which added to the slow start. That said, the food redeemed the visit. I ordered the buffalo chicken mac and cheese, and it was genuinely excellent. Even though it was busy, the lively atmosphere actually made the place feel welcoming and energetic rather than chaotic. The full dining room gave it that authentic diner experience. Overall, I would rate it 3 out of 5 stars. The long wait impacted the experience, but the food and atmosphere were strong enough that I would consider giving it another chance during a less busy time.

All of the service staff has changed, and their waitresses are no longer friendly or inviting. Our recent visit (in a long time) resulted us having a waitress who was just completely clueless. She asked for our drink orders upon sitting, she came back with one persons drink, and the others were sitting there for at least 15 minutes without their drink. When she finally came back, she forgot the order (that she wrote down) and had to retrieve the remaining drinks. She then took our order, but was just really rude. When asking about a menu item she laughed in our faces and talked down to us about it (we wanted to make sure that the eggs were actually poached for the eggs Benedict). About 10-20 minutes later, she walked back to the table, clearly flustered, and asked "okay, what do you guys want to order?" To which we replied that she had already taken our order. She looked blankly at our table, and said "who, me? Or someone else?" It was genuinely concerning. At this point, we've been at the diner for about 30 minutes, finally have drinks, but no food. When she finally returns with a tray full of food, the order is correct, but, lo and behold, the eggs on BOTH Benedict's are essentially hard boiled, and to top it off, there were bits of egg shells throughout the dishes. Overall, our experience was so much less than desirable, and I can honestly say that we will not be returning. Bring back the old City Limits diner, get rid of the really bad waitstaff, and improve the kitchen practices.

I accessed my trusty Yelp! app and did a search for restaurants near by. We decided on going to Speed Trap Diner in Woodville (my first time). If you are like me, and have never been to this establishment before and you are into eclectic scenery, you need to stop in at this place! It has plenty to keep your eyes busy all the while you are there. The eclectic decor is similar to another one of my faves, Tackle Box II located in Fremont. I was like a kid in a candy shop with a pocket full of money snapping pics (as you can see in this review). We ordered the Trailmarker Omelette (breakfast served all day) with hash browns & rye toast, and the Chicken Parmesan Sandwich. Trailmarker Omelette was stuffed full of corned beef hash with onions and peppers with a light coating of melted cheese (yum). The hashbrowns were done to perfection and the lightly buttered rye toast was almost like Texas Toast - nice and thick and tasted so, so good (especially with strawberry preserves or honey)! The Chicken Parmesan sandwich presentation wasn't nearly as much of a statement as the Trailmarker Omelette, but still just as tasty. Needless to say - true Diner food done right. The server was very pleasant, attentive, and quite knowledgeable of the menu offerings as well as the eclectic decor. We will definitely be back for another visit to Speed Trap Diner in the future!!!

This truly a wonderful experience for all ages and varying tastes. A tremendous and welcome change we've come to endure from other dining experiences. Here the customer is THE primary focus from the moment you walk in til you walk out the door - BRAVO!! The food, had the Mayberry Mega where you pick your 6 omelette ingredients. Normally a crap shoot in most diners but here it was a home run. The ham and sausage were nice size chunks, juicy, and full of flavor. Spinach, onions, and tomatoes were fresh and perfect sizes and good quantities for the dish. That leaves the cheese my one "ding" would have preferred shredded cheese vs sliced cheese because of flavor and texture - but it didn't take away from a wonderfully prepared omelette made and severed with genuine care. Potatoes were frozen BUT they were prepared exceptionally well for dinner dare they were soft and cooked with a nice crisp. It was a superb surprise and a very welcome one. The coffee was fresh and hot and the standard "acidic" coffees you'd find in most diners anywhere, but overall inviting enough to have a few cups for a discerning coffee "snob" like me. Place was PACKED so all tables and booth were full, but they have a nice counter service with plenty of seating and space to move and eat and be very comfortable for your meal. What's fascinating is the incredible teamwork and collective desire to ensure your time, experience, and meal are spent enjoying your company and food not staring at your watch wondering about time. The entire restaurant was seated, served, and cleared with clean tables within the time I had to get and consume my own breakfast. So if you see a packed house on your arrival and don't desire that counter seat fear not - in this home environment your wait will be short and your day will lose no valuable time - well worth some minimal patience - you'll be glad you did. Your greeted as soon as you walk in by one or more of the extremely hardworking waitresses with a smile - your also sent off with a "Thank you. have a Good Day" by one more waitresses as you leave - both excellent touch of service class enhancing customer experience. I've never seen a more well-run diner or any restaurant from the waitresses to the cooks to the dishwashers the teamwork, attention to details, customer satisfaction, and to the incredible cleanliness of the restaurant despite the constant flow of customers - I've never seen a restaurant so clean and kept so clean the out the day. So what are you waiting for come to Mayberry where a warm greeting, clean home, exceptional food are calling YOUR name today...I'm returning perhaps I'll see you there....Bon Appetite!!

The egg white veggie wrap was nicely portioned without being over the top; a little mustard and hot sauce was required to complete the profile, but that's fine. The staff were very friendly and attentive, even beyond what we would have expected. All told, this was an excellent experience if you're looking for a fast paced diner breakfast.
