Super cute restaurant! I was driving by lost in Ohio :-) and it caught my eye. Everyone there was super friendly and hotdogs were amazing :-) The Entire menu is served all day so for me who hates breakfast at 10 AM to have hotdogs and french fries was an added bonus :-)

The other day I was making the long drive to southeast Michigan to drop some presents off under the family Christmas tree. Not having slept in the last thirty hours my mind was a bit foggy when I first heard a rumbling in belly. Bleary eyed, I quickly took note of my surroundings. Fast Food? Nah! Grocery Store? Negative. Liquor Store? Maybe... No, there was driving to be done. It was then that the clouds in the sky parted for, but a moment, releasing a solitary beam of sunlight onto Bedford Coney Island. Now, I am not a religious person, but they say it is best that one does not ignore these things. I pulled into the parking lot. As I walked, bleary eyed, into the establishment I took note of a few things. Firstly, this place was pretty clean. Secondly, it was larger inside than I had originally suspected. Lastly, this place was damn busy. I steeled myself for what might be a moderate wait by the "Please wait to be seated" sign. I was wrong about the wait, in less than half a moment a waitress zipped up to me and welcomed to me to the diner and directed me to my seat. My coffee was on my table almost before I ordered it. I confess I did not peruse the entire menu, but it was fairly large and seemed to consist of your typical Coney Island fare. I asked my waitress what she would recommend and placed that order. While enjoying my coffee during the short wait for my food, I took notice of the restaurant patrons. Old, young, families, people recovering from hangovers, the waitstaff daftly zipped from table to table fulfilling orders and engaging in friendly small talk. It looked so..... exhausting. When my spinach and feta omelet arrived it was delicious as it was generous in proportion. I was unable to finish enjoying it due to the limitations of my stomach's size. Coffee refills came almost as soon as I took the last sip, and after several cups, I began to believe that my friendly waitress must possess clairvoyant abilities that the CIA could use more than Bedford Coney Island. As it turns out, she just had a system, and the system was good. There is nothing remarkable or quirky about the Bedford Coney Island. There are not walls covered with Mark Twain quotes like like the Double Eagle Coney Island in Ypsilanti. Nor will you find the quint 1950's style decor or Abe's Coney Island in the same city either. What you will find is quality food, reasonable prices, and a fast and friendly waitstaff. As Lavar Burton would say, "But you don't have to take my word for it!" If you ever find yourself in the Lambertville area, or even just cruising past it on US 23, take a detour to this little gem, you won't regret it.

House special partly eaten and in the back was the Greek skillet was also excellent.

I have been here twice. The first we ate breakfast food and it was very good. Today we tried the Detroit dogs and spinach pie I am in love with the pie! Great service very friendly knowledgable about menu items and quick to fill coffee and pop for us! Food it very good. We tried an appetizer (hummus) I could eat that by itself. Top notch in my book!

Just a taste of corned beef hash for $6.09 and does not come with potatoes. Rip off!

Decided to check it out after working from a local library. Upon walking in, the ambiance is welcoming and casual. The wood floors looked very clean and it just felt clean. Since I was here mid-afternoon, the back part of the restaurant was closed, so I took a seat at one of the bar high tops. My server was very friendly and efficient. I ordered the Baja Chicken Rollup without bacon and with ranch dressing on the side. It came out pretty quickly. And did I mention that I also had the fries?! The fries were perfectly seasoned and cooked so that they weren't too crispy or too soft. They were addictive! The sandwich was also amazing, though secondary to the fries. The side of ranch dressing was perfect. The condiments were served in small plastic containers, which were a reminder that this was great food in a bar and grill. Everything was very tasty though and I don't mean to discount the food or service, as it was top notch. Definitely recommend! Check out the pictures below!

After visit #2, I'm not sure there will be a visit #3 anytime soon. The consensus among friends -- confirmed now by our own table -- is that everything is too heavy. The first few bites bring the oohs and the ahhs. By halfway through the plate, the ughs and the oofs begin. The menu reads as thoughtful and dialed in. Our table of four ordered very different entrees -- seafood, steak, pasta, salad -- and somehow every plate arrived at the same destination: rich, savory, dense. No acid. No brightness. And strangely, blue cheese and garlic had crept into every single bite, as if the kitchen could not bear to let a dish leave without them. A meal that should have pleased everyone left most of us with a mild remorse. I felt surprisingly ill for hours afterward -- not because anything was unsafe, not because it wasn't delicious, but because it was simply too much. Too rich. Too savory. The body, it turns out, asks for contrast, and we had not been given any. The service, on the other hand, is STILL outrageously good. Without question some of the best in the region -- better than nearly every higher-end room in town. But the atmosphere is stuffy, the food is one-note, and high quality is not the same thing as good execution. My wife's "medium plus" steak arrived extremely rare. My salmon was undercooked. At this price, that is inexcusable. Still -- the service. The service is something to behold.

I personally like to see it on paper so I can view ingredients but Im going with the flow. The service is a stand out here. Started with garlic bread bites. Server indicated there is a light blue cheese drizzle that they actually drizzle at the table. Neither of us are big fans of blue cheese and made sure to tell her when she started. She said its very mild n not overpowering. It was not mild n it was overpowering. I love love bread n I only ate one square. French onion soup was good per the man. I wanted the chicken special but when I said Ididn't care for peppers the server said she didn't recommend it then. Not sure why peppers couldn't be removed? but I took her advice and chose shrimp instead. Shrimp n mashed potatoes for me. Lamb chops n some type of potatoes for him. It was fine. At the price point($200 for 2) I was expecting more than fine. They did bring him a bday dessert but as she stated they don't sing happy birthday. Ok then. Stashed the leftovers in the car and went next door for beers n bday shots. More my speed. I would come back if its someone else's choice

I made reservations for a party of three on Marcel's website and yet the reservation didn't make it to the restaurant's reservation list... Yikes! Yet they were able to accommodate us, fortunately. We didn't realize it at first, but Chef Marcel's wife was our server. How lucky is she to eat so well on the regular?! She was very gracious and patient in tending to our table and answering our questions. Very lovely and down-to-earth! While Chef Marcel is known for visiting with customers, he was too busy iIn the kitchen when we were there. We started with the stuffed large portobello mushroom as an appetizer. It included beets and was delicious. No picture because we were hungry, but check out photos of the rest of our dinners! I should note that my two friends enjoyed the complimentary bread and raved about it. I held out for the appetizer, but the bread looked delicious. Two of us went with the weekly special of mahi mahi, which included a salad of mixed greens. The mahi mahi was served on tortilla shells with rice, black beans and cilantro. It was a unique combination that was delicious. Our other friend opted for the chicken marsala with button mushrooms over rigatoni.. She also ordered the brussel sprouts as a side and loved them. I think I tasted more of the flavors blending together especially with the apples and onions. I tried the wedge salad, so delicious especially with the candied pecans. My husband had the salmon bisque soup and the grouper for dinner. I had a bite of the broccoli and the polenta with a taste of the grouper and it was really good with a slight kick! The grouper was meaty and mild. Of course we had to have dessert even after a bottle of prosecco! We tried the pineapple carrot cake and the chocolate Panna cotta for the second time.
