Sam is such a great guy! I love his kind, patient, and caring personality. He went out of his way to help me when I needed him. Even though his store was supposed to be closed, he stayed open for me and took measurements for my carpet installation and bathroom tile installation, even though I arrived late to his shop. I told him how bad I felt for keeping him open and he responded by expressing how grateful he was to do business with me because I was helping him pay his bills. He did a great job of helping me find new carpet and bathroom tiles for my house. His rates were cheaper than those of Carpetland, and his employees/contractors were also friendlier than those of Carpetland. The other, younger guy who worked at the store was very helpful when I first visited the store. He walked me through the differences between hardwood, engineered wood, laminate, and vinyl and was patient the whole time, despite me asking so many questions. The two contractors who installed my carpet and bathroom tiles were cool, friendly, and polite. Omg they even stretched out my carpet in one of the bedrooms for free! Lmao one of them was so bothered by it. That was super nice of them to do. The carpet looks great and is a huge improvement from the carpet before it. Same thing with the bathroom tiles. I just wished I had paid for the transition to pull the whole look together a bit better. I highly advise you add the transition. I loved Sam's and his employees' customer service! The only reasons why I am giving them 4 stars rather than 5 are because they left a sticky residue at one of the edges of the bathroom tiles (that I plan to clean off later) and Sam took longer than expected to install my carpet and tiles. I had to reach out a handful of times to confirm the date and time of the installations. I highly recommend supporting this local business for your home improvements! read more

We reached out to Sam to have a carpet runner installed for our hardwood stairs and had a positive experience from start to finish! I reached out to Sam after receiving his contact information through a business referral and he responded back to me within a timely manner and was at our house within the next week with several different carpet samples for us to see and feel. He completed the measurements himself and kept us posted throughout the progress, from ordering, binding, and scheduling time for the installation. His team arrived on time during the scheduled window and Sam also stopped by to make sure everything was going well. Once the job was completed, he checked in to see if we liked it and to let him know if there were any issues. The job was completed in about 5 hours and the installers were very courteous and efficient. They also took their time with cleaning up and making sure the carpet was installed to our liking. Although I loved the look of our hardwood stairs, we feel much safer going up and down the stairs now (especially in the dark!). Not only does Sam's do flooring, he also does kitchen remodeling and bathroom remodeling! We're definitely going to continue to recommend Sam and his company to our friends and family. read more

Sam has done a lot of work for me. He painted out and fixed my deck. He took care of the railings inside the house that broke on the 4th floor. He replaced the downstairs 1st floor wood floor with tile. I also had him redo the 3rd floor bathrooms. Had a few hiccups with one of the screen door and garage door going into the house. He lost the key to the house, but he fixed all of those issues. I believe him to be a good man with a fair price. Just ensure you are complete my clear about everything upfront before the work starts as Sam tries to live by what is agreed to. All my fellow homeowners, you will be happy with Sams work. I accidently dropped into Sam's floor covering in search of good stair treads at a resanble price. After talking to Sam,I ordered 13 treats. Guess what for my suprise treards were great. good quality. I am very satisfied.They are the same that you pay in big stores which has double the price. I would recommend to any body. read more

I called Sam's based on a review in Yelp, and facing a similar situation. Our shower on the second floor had been leaking over the years and the plywood sub-floor needed to be replaced. The existing floor was ceramic, and the old shower needed to go as well. Sam came over, gave us a fair quote, and we scheduled the work. The water damage was more extensive than we thought, and some of the wall needed replacing. Sam honored the original quote and the work proceeded. Our bathroom is now finished and looks wonderful! The ceramic tile work is beautiful and the new frameless shower is gorgeous! We will call Sam's Floor Covering for all future work, and highly recommend this small business to everyone. read more

For us, Sam's is the "sine qua non" (Google it) of personal service companies. I use that broad term because while we had a moderately large job, Sam "had some guys" who did just wonderful work in every phase of the project (pause here to give a shout out to Mo who was not only professional but also a delight to work with throughout the project!) In a conversation with Sam after he had finished our job, I realized that we had only dipped our toe into the "world of Sam" it would appear that there is precious little he and his team cannot do and I will most assuredly use him again. Now, to the point, we own a town house. We completely re-did the middle level (including a powder room) in hardwood flooring except for the kitchen (along with the foyer and lower level hallway) in a premium vinyl product. After that was done, we finished up by replacing the carpeting in our Master Bedroom (after 30 years), our upper landing and all the stairs in our three-level dwelling. We came across Sam's when my wife and I were reeling from the quote given us by a well-known competitor. Either by total dumb luck or divine intervention we were looking for another vendor's store as we drove by Sam's. We walked in, talked with Sam himself, chose many of the same products we had chosen at the well-known competitor and within 45 minutes walked away with a provisional quote that was 50% lower than what we already had and a hand shake from Sam. Unless you have had a contractor in your home to do a project, you will not appreciate the fact that Sam owns the company and acts like it. He was there each day of the project to give "his guys" direction, acting like a laborer when necessary, and then to ensure that it met his pretty darn high standards. This alone sets the establishment apart but take this and add expert craftsmen and either extremely fair or ridiculously low prices and you have discovered a treasure. Speedy service as a sub-contractor of Costco. Had to return to restretch the carpet. All 1100sqft bubbled within days. Installers blamed the high-end carpet. They used a power stretcher and now it looks great. Quite a few floor tacks and staples left behind to be found by my and my children's bare feet. read more

Sam's did a great job on two of my bathrooms. They had the lowest estimate (a lot lower than some) and included a ton of work. They took out the old ceramic tile in both bathrooms, repaired the subfloors, updated the plumbing, installed a custom tiled shower pan in my masterbath, installed new cement board, installed new travertine/glass/porcelain tile in both bathroom floors and shower walls as well as installed new vanities. They were very professional and courteous. The installer Fred fixed every problem encountered and both bathrooms turned out great. He even came back to fix a few small glass tiles I thought weren't as straight as the rest. Both jobs took a little longer than expected, but both also encountered extra problems so that is to be expected. I would highly recommend to anyone. read more

I visited several flooring stores and happened to stop by Sam's. I wanted wood floors for my entire house, minus basement. This was a large job and my priorities were the quality of the wood, quality of work, and lastly pricing. I stayed home for the entire installation, and learned allot about how flooring is suppose to be laid. I demanded highly experienced installers and he came through. I was impressed with the attention to detail and quality of work. The price was very reasonable and will not hesitate to visit Sam's for my next flooring improvement. read more

Sam's did a carpet installation in our recreation room. The installers were so courteous and the installation was perfect. One closet revealed mold damage when the old carpet was removed so I asked them not to install the new carpet there. They rolled the extra carpet and padding for storage until I could get the damage fixed. 4 months later the damage was repaired and I called them to come back and install the closet carpet. It was promptly scheduled, and again the installers were so courteous and did a fantastic job installing and cleaning up. I can recommend them highly for carpet installation! read more

I do not recommend this place at all. We tried to hire them for a large hardwood and carpeting project in our home. After our initial visit to his store, we had one of his associates come out to measure our entire house. He asked us to come back to his store 5 days later to get our quote. When we showed up, they were having issues with their phone lines and he made is wait for well over an hour while he was on the phone with Verizon. After waiting, he comes by to tell us that the quote was not ready and that if we could wait 2 more days. We did, and when we called back he said the quote wasn't ready and that he would send it over that afternoon. After nothing showed up, we called back to find out from his asst. that Sam had left for the day. We called back the next day and he wasn't in the store but that he'd call us right away.... We never heard for him. Unfortunately his unprofessionalism caused a major delay in our remodeling project and as we had to start our flooring process all over again! read more
