The team worked relatively quick. That's all I can say that is positive. The work looks sloppy. They made a huge mess, only cleaning up partially. There are still shavings of material all in the carpet. They didn't lay anything down clearly. They spilled something on the counter top that dripped onto an appliance. They ran the quarter round behind the fridge but not behind the oven, leaving the sub floor exposed. Worst of all is the puddle of urine they left around the toilet. I don't understand how one could miss so much. The bathroom smells like urine now. It's very hard to believe this company has such a high rating. I guess you have to be home and watch the team work for them to be respectful of your home. I'm disgusted. read more

My wife and I have dealt with a lot of contractors in the process of fixing up our house, and we can say that the team at FloorCraft is among the finest and most professional we've dealt with. After another contractor we used did an abysmal job installing LVP flooring during a renovation, we did extensive research on flooring companies (not wanting to be burned again by a large company with too many employees and not enough supervision). Marty had extensively excellent reviews across every review site his company is listed on. Now that the process is complete, we understand why those reviews were so excellent. The work crew who installed the flooring was phenomenal -- quick, professional, tidy and adaptive to our requests. Somehow, I think they left our home cleaner than when they arrived, which is not an experience I've had with any other renovation contractor before. The flooring installation itself has far exceeded our expectations, with FloorCraft proactively identifying problems and fixing them along the way. The finished product -- both the flooring and the trim work -- looks great and we've received nothing but compliments from those who have seen it. Marty was also honest throughout the buying process about what he thought would work for us and what might prove challenging, costly, or require trade-offs (like needing to move out temporarily if we chose to re-sand, which we did not). We felt that we received an accurate, complete picture of the variables involved in the process and were able to come to an informed decision that worked for us, our property, and our budget. With respect to the cost of the process, we felt that the bid we received was extremely fair. Marty's bid to us was detailed and provided a breakdown of where our money was going. Marty was also extremely patient answering our questions and helping to track down answers, making himself available by email and personal cell phone before, during and after the installation. We always felt like he was responsive within a reasonable time frame. We can't recommend FloorCraft (and Marty) enough after this process, and we're looking forward to using him and his team again for future flooring projects. read more

This review does not reflect the workmanship of Floorcraft rather our encounter with Marty when he visited our property to give us an estimate for hardwood flooring and refinishing. Marty got very loud and disrespectful when I corrected him on what he and I had talked about over the phone. Apparently he expects the homeowners to move out of their house completely, hire movers to move all the furniture outside the house before he does any flooring job which he never communicated to me over the phone. Never heard this from any other contractors that we have received estimates from. Whatever his requirements are for taking a job, it's completely unacceptable to treat clients with disrespect. My wife and I felt very uncomfortable and agreed with him that he does not have to take the job and better for him to leave our property. read more

Called to get an estimate, no answer. Left a message, no call back. As a business owner I pride myself in returning calls/messages in a timely manner as we know 1st impressions are everything. Customers will lose trust in a company if their communication is lacking or non existent. Reply to owners comment. In order to take pride you actually have to call customers back. Instead you admit you pick and choose who you want to call back. How do you know I'm not local? How do you know you can't help? You can't answer any of those questions without first speaking to the customer. Asking me if I contacted a big box store when I contacted you should tell you I'm trying to support small business. Your arrogant mindset is what makes clients go to a big box store. read more

We contacted Floorcraft based on the reviews on Yelp. From the beginning to the end, Marty and his team were great to work with. The stairs use to squeak really bad, Marty recommended to add plywood, adhesive and screws to reinforce the stairs. Squeaks are pretty much gone and we are impressed on how quiet the stairs and upstairs now are! The loft is now quiet and cozy and the carpet looks amazing! I want to write a fair review and explain why I am giving 4 stars and not 5. Bottom line up front: the carpet and "wood" (vinyl flooring) looks great, is great quality, and we got it done, but not without some frustration, communication gaps, loooong days into late night for install, scheduling changes, ... due to lack of crews. It was not easy. Make sure you clarify exactly what you need to box up and move out of the room before an install. Protect anything you want to make sure is not touched no matter if you think it should not be a problem. For example, somehow, someway, my son's glasses that were in the bathroom ended up missing a lens after the install, and they should never have been in the way. We had a communication issue on what needed to be cleared, to what extent, such as books off bookshelves, files out of the desk to lighten it up, etc, and it caused some extra angst. You basically need to pack up like you are moving out of the house. Marty made it sound like it was no big deal to prep a room, just collect things off the floor, but no, everything needs to be cleared. Pack everything up, they will just move the furniture. Also note, they start late in the day, and work late into the night, especially when full crews don't show, so we had install days that lasted until 10:40 pm and 9:00 pm due to crews or individuals not showing up and leaving the job planned to few people to complete. Knowing things ahead of time will help with mentally adjusting or ensuring your needs are communicated up front for planning. read more

FloorCraft did an amazing job for us! They installed new carpeting for us in one property (to replace old carpet), and put in new hardwood floors in another property (to replace some old tiling). We needed very quick turnarounds on both projects, and FloorCraft accommodated ours needs and their work quality was excellent! Service, quality, price: Floorcraft has it all. I can not recommend Floorcraft highly enough. We first used them to replace the mix of laminate and carpet with hardwood on the first floor of our house almost 6 years ago. The product that Marty recommended still looks great. When we had a flood In our basement 18 months ago and needed to replace the floor, Marty was our first call, and he installed a beautiful waterproof vinyl plank. When we added a sunroom to the back of the house and it needed a finishing touch, again I called Marty at Floorcraft and he had just the product we needed, specially designed to resist fading and the temperature changes that products found at Home Depot and Lowe's can't stand up to. Each time, Marty has been fantastic about walking us through options, helping us understand the differences and finding just what we need. His installers, led by Max are fast and efficient and not fly by night subcontractors; we have had the same team each time. Floorcraft sells quality materials at a great price. Reached out for a carpet stretching. Got an estimate. Communicated on dates and times of when the job could be done. Communicated some more and sent some pictures of what needed to be done. As anyone who has worked in manual labor knows sometimes things come up while you're in the process of jobs, which was also communicated to me if any issues were to come up. Thankfully in my case there were no issues and the carpet looked like it never needed any kind of fix. We were also recommended to get a lockbox so that there would be more flexibility on when the workers could come in and out. We got one and made everyone's lives easier. So easy that I forgot the carpet job was even done when I got home. Received an email with the discussed amount and was able to pay online with no extra fees. We got carpet installed in our upstairs 4 bedrooms and hallway. They moved a lot of bulky furniture, carefully removed the old carpet, screwed down the subfloor removing all the squeaks, cleaned the floor, and installed the new pad and carpet perfectly. They did such a great job in our closets working around all the built-ins. They cleaned up after themselves even vacuuming my driveway removing all the carpet fibers. This is a really terrific company that has been in business for decades. When we first moved into our house in 2001 and wanted to replace the original carpeting, we contacted Marty Engel who did a terrific job recommending and installing high quality carpeting throughout the house. Just a couple months ago we decided to go with hardwood floors on our first floor (the carpet was still in fine shape!). We removed much of the carpet as a DIY project and the wood floors underneath were in bad shape - dark stains in one room and paint on the dining room floor - and the foyer floor was a mess. Marty came up with a terrific plan and what a transformation! Gleaming, beautiful hardwood floors flowing through our first level, with a stone look floor in the kitchen. About a year ago he sold us some carpeting and said it was so well made and the dyes were so good that stains could be cleaned by using a bleach solution. Unfortunately we recently had some flooding and the legs of our furniture stained the carpet. Marty himself came back over and got all the stains out!
