Filled out a request for a quote to get our basement carpet redone. Received a call a week later from presumably Alex the owner who came off as a sleazy car salesman vibe and I should have known better to waste any further time. Decided to stop in the showroom on a day off and met Alex who basically ignored me till the warehouse worker helped. He then gave me a quote for their "best" nylon carpet installed. I asked for a quote for a color they didn't have in stock and the price doubled. Then asked for a ballpark price for another tier of nylon carpet and the price was just made up out of thin air. It gets better, he says he can drop 1k off the first quote price. Then proceeded to get upset because I won't agree to a purchase / install on the spot. Will gladly go spend money else where other than this shady spot.. I'm sure he would have substituted the padding or something for else to make his profit. Just fantastic from beginning to end-to-end of the entire process. I spoke with Mike at 1st and he really worked with me and took measurements early because I wanted to put my house on the market right away. I went in and Alex helped me with color selections and gave me samples to take to the house to be matched. The workers did an amazing job and they were on-time on-schedule. BUYER BEWARE! Avoid this place like the plague. Very shoddy workmanship and absolutely zero communication when there are problems. They will treat you like you do not even exist. Nice to work with initially and it all seems just fine, but once the install comes and and there are problems, you are no longer a customer as far as they are concerned. There's not much to select from in the area which is why people shop here. Do yourself a favor and make the drive to Fairfax for better quality and better service. We first used Carpet Royale back in 2001 when we had our home built. They did our carpeting and hardwood. Throughout the years we have replaced the carpet and always gone back to Alex!. This last summer in July our Cocker Spaniel, Mikey died. We had all the carpet in our home and detached apartment replaced. Alex is pleasant at first, But that was before I walked in and seen them putting down the cheapest pad available in our home that things went sour. We had paid for the best pad, and when confronted, Alex told me he wished he did never done business with me. We finally won, and the cheap pad was removed! Carpet Royale did an amazing job installing Solid Oak Hardwood on my first floor. I did my homework and visited/priced flooring at other bigger stores and got a quote from one solo contractor, so I know I got a good price from Alex. In the end, even if the big-name store had been cheaper, I would have decided on Carpet Royale for the service and quality of installation. Over the past 25 years I have used them 3 times to install new carpet and was always very pleased with the outcome. I watched the hardwood installers carefully place boards, staggering them to make my floor pleasing to the eye. This attention to detail 100% affirmed my decision to use Carpet Royale for harwood. The installers were polite, consulted me if they had a question and cleaned up. Note: My original install date had a high temperature of 5 degrees, so Alex kindly rescheduled. I like having confidence in the end result and will return to Carpet Royale when I have flooring needs in the future. I feel like going elsewhere is a gamble! read more

I've hired these guys twice. First time: They installed carpet in my living room and entire upstairs. And they installed beautiful ceramic tile in my dining room & foyer. Second time: I had them come continue the tile from dining room in to the kitchen, because I loved it so much. Fair price, fast & excellent quality. Talk to Alex! He'll take care of you! I had all my bedrooms and living room carpeted. No real problems with that. I also had new hardwood installed on my stairs and landing. The landing was good but the stairs looked shoddy. They didn't cut them to fit perfectly and tried to cover up their mistakes with lots of cocking. I also had them sand and stain my old existing hardwood floors to match the darker new hardwoods. They subcontracted this job out and it was a disaster. It took two different crews staining and re-sanding 4-5 times to finally get it done. This severely cut into the life of my original hardwoods. Also they managed splash stain all over my door frames and some of my doors. I'm gonna have to eventually replace the stairs and hardwoods when I can afford it!!! read more

This review is long overdue as it should have been written more than a year ago after my Mother had purchased carpet for her house we bought in Bristow. Alex, the owner, is very charming and helpful - as a result we trusted him to make a recommendation - BIG MISTAKE. What she got was low grade carpet for a very high price. The carpet, after 2 years, is worn, stretched and constantly creates buckets of fuzz after vaccuuming. The fuzz is so bad that the air filters in her house need to be changed monthly. This is in a house where a senior citizen lives so would not be considered a high "wear and tear" situation. Alex did help coordinate a visit by the manufacturer to see if the carpet was defective. They determined it was not. Obviously the problems are because the carpet he sold us is just low quality. My only regret is that we did not question this sooner and take more serious action against him. And, for sure we regret buying carpet from him. As a result I would NOT recommend this business and would encourage anyone looking for carpet to do your due diligence. read more

We've been in our house for 24 years and have used Carpet Royale to replace nearly ever floor in the house. The first flooring we had them do was new carpet in the basement. That was about 15 years ago. While the carpet shows normal wear and tear, it's still in reasonably good shape. However, we are now having the basement carpet replaced by them again because of a water leak that severely damaged the carpet. In addition to carpet, they installed gorgeous Brazilian cherry hardwood floors in our upstairs and, in the same wood, rebuilt our stairs (which were carpet over raw builder grade boards). Carpet Royale also installed ceramic tile in our kitchen and hickory hardwood in the family room. They did stellar job on both -- they were prompt and efficient, and the results were of the highest quality. We keep going back to Carpet Royale because we get good quality products installed correctly and efficiently. They have specialized teams for each kind of flooring (tile vs. carpet vs. hardwood). I've dealt with both Alex and Mike, and both have done good by us. And they are highly flexible on installation scheduling. I can recommend these guys with no hesitation whatsoever. Don't ever use Carpet Royale & Rugs in Manassas or Vienna. The company ripped us off. Paid for hardwoods and they started splitting. They never acclimated them to our house. They never asked if we had a crawl space to check for humidity. We've never had an issue with our previous hardwoods that were installed in 1989! Alex, the owner would only guarantee laminate vinyl as a replacement. Never reimbursed us any money even though we paid for hardwoods and in the end got vinyl. Realtors do not use!! read more

We had been working with home depot for 10 days...measurements, scheduling for measurements, carpet choices, padding choices etc. We were quoted 440 dollars for a hallway...good carpet and upgraded padding....the measurements come in a voila 863 dollars ...well it's a hallway and there is a lot of waste of carpet since carpet only comes in 12 foot rolls....that would be a NO and two weeks to install, this was Saturday. We are not paying 863 dollars for carpet in a hallway. Off to Carpet Royal and Rug.straight from Home Depot on Saturday..spoke to Alex who upgraded carpet, better than upgraded padding and I will install it on Monday...MONDAY and upgraded everything for 100 more than the original estimate from Home Depot, yes the original estimate. The carpet installers were here on time, professional and the quality of work is amazing...not much impresses the hubby and he is impressed. It took them one hour in and out and our hallway has been transformed! I will ALWAYS work with Carpet Royal & Rug...should have known this! I had carpet installed by them 12 years ago for a bedroom and walk in closet and the carpet still looks brand new....I highly recommend this A++++ company for their service, quality of product, promises kept, low prices and quality of work. My review is a long time coming. I purchased very expensive exotic hardwood from Carpet Royale to be installed on two floors of my home and paid extra money to have baseboard installed. The baseboard was cut and installed incorrectly by two subcontractors, one of whom was no more than 17 years old, didn't know what he was doing, and couldn't communicate with the other installer. Needless to say, there are huge gaps between the boards and my walls. Something I cannot myself fix. Additionally, the hardwood was supposed to be hard (something I insisted on) but as I soon learned, it easily scratches even with sliders and rugs, and I can't make it look clean no matter what products I have tried over the years. The hardwood in my half bath has come apart at the seams. There are huge gaping crevices were the flooring no longer meets and my toilet wobbles on top of the flooring. Furthermore, some of the flooring they installed was damaged with huge nicks and I honestly have no idea how to resolve this issue without spending a boatload more money. When I asked twice for the warranty paperwork, I was told I would receive it and never did (sigh). I will say Alex was very pleasant to work with initially but, in hindsight, I should've used another company. read more

My husband decided to choose this place for carpet despite the reviews. we were pleasantly surprised too. they did a really nice job! Tony came and measured on a Tuesday and by Friday afternoon we had new carpet installed. we have a spiral staircase that needed carpeting too and to our surprise again, they did a REALLY nice job. The installers were courteous, efficient & professional. the only reason i deducted a star was because the installers needed a bit of micro-managing. for instance, they would walkout to the van and then walk on the new carpet without booties. we provided them a shop-vac to aid with clean up (i was surprised they didnt have one.) and we also provided them gloves, which they didnt have. all in all they did a beautiful job and we will certainly use them again! read more
