I visited Jon's with my 5-month-old service dog in training. I am a certified professional dog trainer, and my puppy is currently undergoing professional service dog training. As soon as I entered the store, a manager approached me and incorrectly claimed that I was not allowed to have my dog inside. Instead of handling the situation professionally, another customer--a Black man--began threatening to shoot my puppy. The most shocking part was that the manager did absolutely nothing to address or stop these threats. After I explained the situation and provided the information I had with me, I was ultimately allowed to remain in the store with my dog. However, I should never have been confronted and told I had no right to be there in the first place. This was by far the worst experience I've had at any Jon's location. The staff were unprofessional, uninformed, and completely failed to ensure a safe environment for their customers. I will not be returning to this store. read more

I walked over here to get my steps and pick up a few items. Since I am not in a hurry I walked every aisle. I have noticed that their top shelf Alcohol are not locked like in other stores. How surprising!! The store is well lit, aisles are easy to navigate even though there are products displayed on the floor - 2 carts can still pass through, and I saw the manager checking out supplies and employees restocking which is nice. I was trying to buy a caviar. It says "net weight 500 gram" if anyone doesn't know how many lb 500 gram is it's 1.108 lb. 1lb is equal to 450 gram. The deli guy was trying to charge me for 1.25 lb. I could prove my point. I even called the manager woman. She said 1.25 lb it is. They say the store can not weight whatever inside of the package to give me an accurate weight. I got to the store 25 minutes before closing. Waited in line to get 1/2 lb of ham. The lady refused to open a sealed ham because it was sealed. So I had to get something else which was very upsetting. As I was standing at the register an elderly lady wanted to come in to purchase something and the managers wouldn't let her in I looked at the clock it was exactly 9:53 pm. The store close at 10 pm. That's not right. The woman was bagging the manager to let her in for one item by the manager refused. Super rude. Doesn't treat costumes respectfully. Instead of going to the register and help the line moving faster she was walking around in circles and every few minutes was constantly reminding people that the store is closing in 15 minutes, in 10 minutes, in 5 minutes. My experience with the butcher department, on December 12th 2023 at 6pm, my family and I went to purchase some poultry and few other things, the butcher a middle, aged Latin man with a mustache, refused to cut up the wings for us, (never experienced this at Jon's market in the last decade of shopping there) and the poultry we did purchase, he just threw in a clear bag, no butcher paper, his excuse was the counter tops are wet, I'm very tall and can see over the counter the butcher station was not wet, thank god we have many markets to choose from, manager your new hire is either lazy or raciest. This location of Jons is terrific! Especially good selection of Middle Eastern foods, at low prices, for high quality. The made-in-house Baba Ghannouj Mutabal dip is the best Baba in town! If you are not familiar with Baba, it is similar to hummus, with eggplant as the primary ingredient. Lots of fresh produce at great prices on what is in season. TLDR: don't DARE to use FaceID here by taking off mask for a second during the mask enforcement for COVID-19; store is great with nice cashiers and offers ethnic groceries! Wow, the security guard here is very rude. I went to the store and tried my best to practice social distancing (even brought my own shopping bag to avoid using the shopping baskets and carts). At the checkout, I needed to activate my ApplePay with my FaceID so I took off one string off my mask to allow for facial recognition. I usually use credit cards and/or cash, but I decided to use contactless ApplePay to avoid germ spread. As I was about to put my string back on to my ear, the security guard who was right behind me guarding the entrance stormed over and yelled at me "Ma'am, you better put on your mask or I'm going to ask you to leave the store!!!" I replied "Sorry, it was for my FaceID so I could pay." I believe he then said "I don't care whatever it is." I then realized I could have used the passcode (lesson learned). I was not upset at being told to put my mask back on, but how the message was delivered. Yes, I understand you are doing your job, but maybe ask me nicely like a "Please put your mask back on?" We are not just walking virus carriers, but still human too. It was not as if I had blatantly left my mask off for a long period of time or that I was asked to do so repeatedly. With the recent xenophobia toward Asians, I cannot help but think if he's just expressing his anger about the pandemic toward me b/c of my appearance. Who knows? This whole rude experience could have been avoided had I used my credit card instead (and yes, still pass some germs as the credit card chip insert slot is not being cleaned daily). Took off one star as this experience is not fair to the whole store. Otherwise, I like this Jons location for the convenience to my house and the nice cashiers. My favorite cashier (blondish Latina middle-aged female) helped me today and I love how she is always asking "Did you find everything you need?" with a smile in her face (this time with her eyes haha). The produce is usually fresh as well and they do offer various ethnic foods (more tailored to Middle Eastern). I shopped at Jon's yesterday and will not be back. They do not clean their carts for customers you just get one from the parking lot!! Their "warm" French bread was reheated and is now like a hockey puck on this second day. I did get rainbow trout which were decent but due to the negative experience with the carts and security I will not be back. It wouldn't take much to have a clerk collect the carts and spray them. The only reason why I'd go out of my way to go to Jon's is their fresh and fantastically priced produce. I can't stand paying through my nose for apples, grapes and onions at Ralph's when I can get the same things for a fraction of the price at Jon's. Literally, I go in there with 10 bucks and walk out with tons of fresh fruits and veggies. They carry a lot of ethnic foods; we've bought some Indian garlic paste for a price lower than at the Indian market. I wouldn't go there for your everyday groceries though ie: orange juice, yogurts, cereals, because they aren't competitively priced. They do have a fantastic bakery section and the fresh breads smell so good. They also make delicious cakes. I love the ones with fresh fruit on top. read more

I love Jon's deli. They have the best selections of meat and cheese there. Parking is plenty. Prices are really good for the deli. I like it better than whole foods, Ralph's. So basically of all the supermarkets, Jon's has the best selection of deli meats and cheese. The bonus point is that they slice it for you right there, and they give you samples before you buy it. Everything else is sub par. I come here for the deli only. I usually get my imported Sicilian green olives. It's to die for. The alex's black German Bologna is simply awesome. Gouda cheese is delicious, and throw in some salami, and it's done. I highly recommend everyone try the deli, while you wait for your meats/cheese to be sliced, you can look at the assortments of fruits and veggies. I'd stopped caring Ming here about 6 years ago. I'm not sure why but-l I stopped but can only imagine it was either the managers were still rough around edges or I had bad service. I came in to look at cakes-not ready to commit but wanted to look. I ended up leaving with 2 cakes-one for birthday party and one for birthday day plus groceries. I wish there were more Jons locations. I really love this grocery store. They have a lot of spices and ingredients that are hard to find. They have a lot of veggies, greens that are typically not found in your other stores (Ralphs, Vons etc) or if they do double or triple the price. They have a deli with salads, a good variety of cheeses and cold cuts from around the world. They bake fresh bread and put it out for a low cost. Speaking of price, they are low compared to the other larger chains. I can buy 20% to 30% more groceries at Jons than I could at Vons. Why I took one star off? Their butcher/meat area. More often times than not, meat I would buy had a weird smell or slimy. Therefore, I do not purchase the meat there. Service is friendly. Store recently had a remodel so it looks nice and clean. When it comes to flowers I usually purchase them here. But today I walked out very upset with the lady that was in charge of the flowers she has red hair with glasses. I was admiring the flowers selection deciding which ones to take and she was just standing their watching me when I mentioned to her how beautiful the flowers were.
