I don't understand why this location has such a low overall rating. I've been shopping at this location frequently this month. There's a good amount of parking, the inside of the store is clean, it is always stocked up with snacks and drinks, their hot foods are always readily available no matter what time you show up, and their customer service is great. 711 manager please check all your food products if they are expired. I just bought this Protein Cookie thinking it was fresh but when I started eating it tasted very awful. I then looked at the Expiration date and yup four months expired. I get sick from this you guys will here from me and a lawyer. I came back to the 711 same night and showed the employee the expired cookie and right away trew away as I told him I was going to take a pic of it . So I went to the aisle of more of them and sure enough there was more expired cookies. read more

This particular store has the most unfriendly staff I've ever encountered. It doesn't matter who the cashier is, they never greet or thank you and throw your change at you as though you were cattle. Homeboy has been a staple at this 711 since I was in high school (15 years ago). He gives a smile to EVERYONE young or old. He still remembers me even when I haven't been there in a long while and still charges me "homeboy tax." His jokes are hilarious and he doesn't leave anyone out of them. The other clerks there are just as nice and welcoming. Bottom line: Homeboy is a staple in Chatsworth. If you're ever in a funky mood, just walk in there and he'll cheer you up! read more

I have always favored this 711, even before I moved to the area. It has pretty much the same inventory as the other 711 stores do (except for 711 gear, like the pink trucker hat I bought from a different 711 location), but this 711 is exceptional about restocking ALL of its products. If you often buy something in particular from 711, probably once in a while they won't have it at your local store when you go. This 711 isn't like that. I noticed that they are always fully stocked up with every prepaid and gift card in 711's repertoire and that they carry every single prepaid phone and prepaid phone card there is. Personally, I have gone with a friend in order to buy a prepaid phone card for a specific phone and for a specific amount of phone time at 4AM, when the only store nearby and open is 711, and we went and that 711 didn't have anymore of those cards so we had to visit 2 more 711 stores before we found the phone card she needed. This 711 on the corner of Devonshire and Topanga would have had it. They always have everything! But, what's even more of a reason to like this 711 more than the others is that the people who work here are so kind. Seriously. Kind is a very specific adjective used to describe a person who is cool or nice. The staff here are very kind people. They are good people. It makes my day when I come into contact with such a nice person that they exude goodness and kindness. It just makes my entire day. I'm pretty sure that we are all like that... dealing or connecting in whatever way even for 10 seconds with someone genuine and good to humanity lifts our spirits and gives us faith in who we are ourselves. It's always a good thing, anyway, right(?)... It never hurts to meet a good person. So, that's the reason I bring my business here. read more

This is my first review on Yelp. So I am going to make it quick. Only reason I am making one is because Homeboy. I knew him since I was probably about 3 or 4. I'm 18 now and he is the best. He's great with everyone, helpful, and most of all just funny. If you aren't a very social person, he might make you feel a little akward. 5 of 5 stars for homeboy. Otherwise it's a basic 7-11. I saw some shout outs to homeboy, how effin amazing is that dude. Theres another 711 in the area, but who cares when you can go get the grub you need while also seeing the local neighborhood celebrity homeboy. I walk into this day and the guy still remembers me from the old high school slurpee days. He attracts a lot of business, I was and wasn't surprised to find out he knows a lot of people. Night employee named Deep is always very rude to customers. This time I took it upon myself to file a formal complaint through corporate. My patronage is not appreciated. He is always very nasty and it's a team effort. You get on ones bad side, and they're all against you. Very unfortunate as I live only a block away but will now be taking my business to circle k on the opposite end of my block. I asked for his name to file a complaint and he told me "I don't care. Call any 711 you want. So what". Asked for the store number and he told me "I don't have time" I asked the other gentleman working and he simply shrugged his shoulders and said "you have a receipt". He was so bold and blatant that it leads me to believe that no repercussions are ever made. He doesn't fear for his job safety and feels he can do as he pleases. As I said, team effort. I will no longer do business here. My dollar is valuable everywhere. Unfortunate as I love using the 711 app. I will now have to go to the 711 on Roscoe Blvd. oh and after I left, he stood next to his car, not in it, in the parking lot w/ the doors open blasting what I think was rap music. Always be aware in here. They charge more then what the listed prices are. I got 2 bottles of water that were 2 for $4 and the counter guy tried to charge me $6. Horrible service. Always messy, slurpee machines never work, disrespectful workers. I be been going to this place for already 4 years almost every day and nothing has changed. Today I went with my friends to get some snacks after school, we were checking stuff out and been there for about 3 minutes. One of my friends picked up some kind of gum and started checking it out. One of the workers told us to leave because there was some kind of time limit in the store, that he has probably made up, saying it in the very rood manner later accusing my friend of trying to steal gum when he picked it from the shelf. It offends me because I would never steal anything so is my best friend. I went to pay for the stuff that I've got and told the cashier "as you can see we are not stealing anything". Then he said that he saw my friend trying to steal and when he picked up that gum, I explained that it is normal to pick up things in the store. He had nothing to say, he knew I was right so he said leave now, and do t come back , "they don't need customers like that". I am very disappointed and offended. read more
