Stopped in to Sam's Pizza & Subs for some food on my way down to Stafford, VA... I'd never been in before - so I discovered it's to go only - there is no place to eat on premises. I ordered the smaller of the Steak & Cheese subs with mayo, lettuce, tomato, and onions, plus an order of fries. As a long time customer with Sam's for my family, I can say that they've always done great with service and customer retention. The food is great almost always, and arrives warm and on time, if not before schedule. My issue with it has become that the prices are outragous. For 33$, you get 1 8 inch hot sub, 1 12 inch hot sub, and onion rings. This is in comparison to chili's or outback, where nearly the same price gets you a full entree, a pair of sides, and a desert. The lake arrowhead location (at minimum) makes use of their delivery monopoly to the countryside in order to make a killing, while the presentation, taste and flavor hasn't changed, but the price has gone from 25-28$ to almost an additional ten. read more

This Sam's never lets me down. They say delivery will be 45 minutes to an hour (I'm a ways out there), but its always sooner! The pizza is always cooked right, the delivery drivers are always nice. Couldnt ask for a better service! read more

Arrowhead-Stafford 610. Undercooked and high priced. Placed an order and it arrived in 9 minutes. While I do live 3 minutes away-think about it make the call 1- min cook the food--? Deliver the food 2 mins. I checked the temp of food-105degrees. Wasn't cooked and I tossed it. Called and the on duty supervisor just argued. No apology-no nothing. I tossed the food knowing I'd get major sick eating it. Chicken Alfredo. Boss can be rude at times. He tried to charge me $23 for 2 hamburgers-plain. Nothing else. Then after I questioned the amount-he then got pissed-called me back-and said he forget the $3 delivery charge. $26 for 2 hamburgers plain-no fries. I declined. I've ordered here twice only because of the convenience. We ordered the buy one get one free pizza. The pizza was nothing special; was not good. Another time, I ordered calamari and requested extra sauce. The calamari was disgusting in which I ended up throwing it in the trash. The restaurant forgot to put the extra sauce in the bag which I paid $0.75 and offered to give me a dollar back for me to come pick up. They were unable to credit me the dollar because they use a third party vendor. The customer service experience was a negative vibe for me. I WILL NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN. Sams is great. The deal of buy 1 large get 1 free is great. Have ordered many times. Drivers are friendly. If you live in this area- only place that will deliver. Have gotten salads- decent enough. We stop in for carry-out often and have called for delivery many times as well. The food is always good and tasty. Pizza is really good, we really like it. Subs are tasty, but their chicken cheese steak is dry, even when it's got mayo on it. Doesn't seem to make sense, but the flavor is good. Meatball sub is pretty good. Recently moved to this area and really like their pizza and salad, ordered a few times and they're estimated delivery time is 45 minutes even though we live like 5 minuets away, it actually arrives a lot sooner that 45 minutes. We will be ordering more food from them for sure. read more

Talk about a diamond-in-the-ruff, the food here and the service is absolutely amazing!!! They are a go to for us and guests in our home. They shed really consider opening a sit-down restaurant. Was so happy when this place opened and offered pizza delivery to our house! We've lived at our location since 1993 and haven't had any food delivery (let alone pizza) available to us until the Lake Arrowhead Sams came along. Since they've opened we've averaged a steady 3 orders a month from them--mostly always multiple pizzas and nearly always delivered. Except for one time early on where it appeared the driver took a corner way too fast, our pizza has always been delivered without incident in a timely fashion (usually 35-45 minutes) and has arrived sufficiently hot. The one time where it did arrive with all the cheese having slid into the corner of the box the manager promptly sent out another duplicate order to us at no charge. We've been happy with them since, but that all changed this last weekend. Had some family over and we decided on delivery from Sam's. This time however, the pizza didn't show up until an hour and 20 minutes after we ordered it! The driver claimed he had gotten "lost" on the way over. Really? Who gets lost in 2017? Despite the late arrival everyone was hungry and we had pizza so all was good now right? Wrong! Some of the toppings (which we were charged for) were missing and the pizza was stone cold! I figured a call to Sams to speak with the manager should get things taken care of for us right? Wrong again! The manager (never offered his name but had what sounded like a middle eastern accent) did apologize but did NOT offer to resolve the situation. He said he would speak to the driver but offered nothing when I asked for resolution; no re-delivery, no refund, no credit, no discount--nothing. Horrible customer service for anyone let alone a frequent and consistent customer as we were. As a result of this experience we've decided to no longer give Sam's our business and instead have gone back to picking up pizza from Papa Johns. Made correctly and HOT EVERY time! read more

Sam's is a no frills local favorite. Take a look at the menu and you will see they offer everything, so don't go there looking for something fancy. Blows my mind that this place is still open, it is disgusting...and ill eat a cheeseburger from 711 for dinner if I have to lol....anyways, its 5 min away and my order always takes about 45 min, the fries are like if you were to thaw them in a bowl of water and then microwave them...limp wet and nasty. They use the cheapest ingredients ive ever had from anywhere, not even sure where you can buy such cheap ingredients. Steak and cheese sub is wet with grease and has about a pound of onions on it and not much meat, anything with tomatos beware because they clearly just pop open a can of diced tomatos and dump it on your sub or food. I have given this place many chances even while drunk and so havr many of my friends and it is embarrassingly bad. Cheap beer is the only reason ill go in otherwise save your many its overpriced as well for the wet box of sub and fries you have to order seperate with no drink.
