Visited this Sam's Pizza & Subs location for the first time. I ordered a Steak & Cheese Sub (with extra steak and cheese) and an order of fries - to go. Food came up in about 15 minutes. Fries were hot and crispy - they cold have used just a tad more salt. They smelled so good that I goon't resist them and devoured them in the car before I got home. The advertising of buy one, get one free of equal or lesser value. The reviews were mixed so we took a gamble. First I need to point out the online menu creates some confusion. White pizza is based in a olive oil and the white Alfredo uses a Alfredo sauce base. We ordered the large Alfredo spinach and it was spot on. The spinach was roasted not steamed and soft. The cheese for me was a little salty but didn't stop me from eating. I had a Hawaiian pizza which was pretty good too. I think the only thing missing was the basil flavor in the red sauce. I understand Covid issues. This is the first time we've ordered from the Sam's on Garrisonville. It will be the last. I'm not sure what happened between two locations not that far apart but this is the worst gyro I've ever had. And it's a regular order for me from the location near Stafford Courthouse. When I first moved to the area, in 1995, this was one of the only restaurants in town and it's still here! Hadn't eaten here in about 8 years and decided to go on a Sunday evening with the family. Service was great, very friendly. The dining room is newly remodeled and really nice looking and their menus are even new and have some really good eats listed. All the food we ordered was awesome, including the wings and all the food we saw others eating looked amazing. Definitely a really good, local Italian eatery... it's stood the test of time and there's a reason for that! I'll be back!! read more

1.5 Stars for service and that's because our order was accurate. Food was fine but he service was awful, just awful. We weren't greeted when we entered. A delivery driver yelled into the kitchen to a dining room server that there were customers. She thought he was joking (she said so) so she didn't come right away. We were seated and served by Krystle. There were only five of us in our party to dine but she acted like it was 15. She seemed perturbed to have to clean off and put together two tables to seat us. (The booths only seat four). We asked if the football game could be put on in the dining room (it was NFL Playoffs). She obliged after asking the couple dining next to us if they minded. We didn't have enough placemats or silverware and had to ask for another setting. We ordered mozzarella sticks and she promptly informed us that there were only six in the serving. We told her that was fine because we were ordering dinner. We ordered two medium pizzas for he teens and a 12" sub and fries for my husband to split (no mayo). The sub was good, with plentiful meat, cheese and sautéed onions. The fries are the battered kind and they were crisp. The teens enjoyed the pizza. But we repeatedly had to search for our server and eventually asked the server taking care of the couple next to us. Ours had a party of about twenty. Why the other server didn't have us is beyond our understanding. Krystle seemed annoyed having to attend to us, barely asking if things were good as she cleared a neighboring table. As we were boxing up leftover pizza and signing the check, staff began vacuuming and lousy stacking dishes form the large birthday dinner. Then Krystle was yelling "ranch!" Apparently, that's how she asks another server to refill ranch dressing! Why couldn't they wait three minutes for us to leave before running he vacuum and making a racket?! We will likely be sticking to takeout because we enjoy the food and the interaction of the takeout staff. We even often get to chat with Bob or Sam about business and family. I am reconsidering having a fundraiser here unless I can be assured that Krystle will not be involved whatsoever. read more

Not bad. I thought the pizzas would be in the cici / Little Caesar's quality category, but it's not. We did not dine in but the place looks clean. Pizzas are always buy one get one so I got the extra large Sam's House Special and an extra large broccoli with chicken. The crust was nice and soft, sauce was tasty, toppings tasted fresh, the broccoli was not over cooked. $13.99 for XL cheese plus $1.95 per topping. Sam's Speciality pizza is $19.99. I was visiting Virginia and we visited Sam's --that is a favorite of my sister and her family. It is a nice restaurant with great food. The interior is pretty basic. Service is fast and friendly. We had the Sam's House special which came with a good mix of meat and veggies. It is a really good pizza. The crust is perfect and the sauce was nice. The key difference with any pizza is the toppings and they were very good--with a generous mix. We also had the garlic bread with cheese which was a great appetizer (if very filling). read more

Sandwiches are good as well (steak and cheese) also chicken Alfredo. I tried the shrimp and I wouldn't order it again. The Misses and I don't have a lot of extra cash to throw around on non-essentials and are always looking for getting the best value for our dollar. My wife asked if we could try out "Sam's Pizza & Subs"? I'm always apprehensive on trying something new. She talked me in to it and am I ever so thankful she did! We've only been there a couple of times so far but, this place is definitely going to be our regular place! (Well, one of them.) The food is delicious, the portions are GENEROUS and the prices are GREAT. The two of us can go there and get great food for the two of us and cost and where from $25.00 to $30.00 total! I ordered from here and it was delivery and it took almost 1hour and 30 minutes for 2 large cheese pizzas and a sub and i lived like 10 minutes away and by the time it got there it was cold and the dough was raw like it wasn't even cooked and the driver was very rude and disrespectful by getting mad bc i gave a 5$ tip and i guess it wasn't enough then forcing he pizza in my hands and walked off i will never eat here ever again and i think girl should be fired right away and the cooks should be better trained I would rather a pizza from Walmart then this trash. read more

I have been ordering from this location every since I came to Stafford in 2012. The food used to be so good. When I was pregnant with my children, it was my go to. I believe they are under new management because the food is disgusting now. The last time I ordered from them, my calamari was burnt and I know the cook saw it before he handed it to be delivered. It was so burnt that the calamari lost its texture. Fast forward to today. I was craving a steak and cheese sub and I've ordered my children, a pizza and a cheeseburger and my friend chicken, wings, and fries. My daughters pizza was Bert and I did not have any cheese, I don't order pizza without cheese, so I called and spoke to the manager. She advised that I put no cheese on the pizza, disregarding my comment about the pizza being burnt as well. I told her that I would check the receipt and I will call back. Well, she was correct. I must've accidentally hit no mozzarella but because I called and expressed concern about the pizza, not having cheese on it and also it being burnt, the manager should have offered for me to get another pizza. Now let's talk about this so-called cheesesteak that I got from them, the meat has no flavor and I requested to have salt and pepper on it, they use the cheapest cuts of meat which is steakums and they have the nerve to give me more mushrooms and onions than meat. I spent over $50 on food to get trash! I have been a loyal customer to this place forever, and I have decided that I will not order from them anymore. I will drive all the way to the Sam's Pizza on rt. 17 or the one that's on rt. 1 before I order from this location again. We have been coming to Sam's for 30 years and the pizza and subs have been wonderful all along. I love their pepper steak supreme and meatball sub. The marinara sauce is old world. The owners are very friendly, we usually go to 610 or the one across from the courthouse. We also get delivery which is fast. Our High School Marching Band would order for their students and they loved it. Thank you Sams. read more

We came by for lunch on a day around town. We waited a little bit to get a table for 5. We had chicken salad and gyro. The gyro was good but not great. The chicken salad is a family members favorite. Ok, so I was wary of this place after the reviews. Good thing I like making my own decisions because I was really happy with everything I ordered! I called in an ordered early Saturday evening. The lady on the phone was nice and ordering went pretty smoothly. We got the b1g1 pizza; two mediums. One pepperoni and one Sam's House Special. We also ordered chicken strips w/ fries and a chicken quesadilla. Delivery was within the 45 minutes they quoted and I had no problem with the delivery guy. The chicken strips and fries were really tasty. They did forget to deliver the honey mustard, but I wasn't that pressed about it since I usually have better dips on hand. The fries were the kind with that seasoned crispy coating on it and so you didn't need any additional salt. The chicken strips were very big and it was very filling. The chicken quesadilla was a real surprise. It was really good! There were onions and tomatoes inside with chopped seasoned chicken. It came with sour cream and a somewhat sweet salsa. The salsa is nothing remarkable but again, I always have Cholulo so I wasn't mad about it. The pepperoni pizza was awesome. It had that salty cheap pizza joint flavor that I live for! I could eat this pizza every week. Sorry Sam, but I won't be doing that. But it is definitely my new go to over the mega chains. I wasn't as much of a fan of the Sam's House Special. My husband liked it more. I'm more of a less is more on my pizza. So I thought the many toppings kinda weighed down and sogged the crust. Unlike the pepperoni, it wasn't very good the next day. I would definitely order from them again. In all likelihood, I will keep it simple with the items I order. Sticking with basics and not delving too much into subs and such. I honestly think most of these places have way too much on their menu and most of the time something will suffer in flavor. When I called and spoke to the manager, he assured me it must have been an off night and offered to have me come back and pick up another one (I refused and just didn't have dinner that night.) cut to today, I'm pregnant and was craving a steak and cheese so I decided to give it another go. Again, absolutely zero flavor. Not even salt. Also, was given fried mushrooms instead of mozzarella sticks, to which they so graciously offered again for me to pick up a new order. A friend and I met at Sam's in Garrisonville for lunch. The restaurant was clean and inviting. The staff was more than happy to greet us. My friend and I both love gyro's, so that's what we ordered. The meal came with french fries, which we said we wouldn't need. The gyro meat was hot and flavorful, the lettuce, tomato and onions were fresh and cold. The pita was warm and pillowy. The whole sandwich was delightful. The french fries were cooked to perfection and we ate every single one. Great food, great prices and wonderful people and atmosphere. My friend and I will be back. Recently moved to Stafford and was a bit worried about finding a good pizza place. Sam's was recommended and I was a skeptical since most buy one get one free places don't have very good food.. Much to my surprise, the pizza was very good, could have a bit more crisp to it, but that is my personal preference. The pizza is very good, prices are extremely reasonable. Looking forward to trying something new off the menu next time I order! The inside of the restaurant is very nice and clean, the dining area wasn't what I was expecting looking from outside.
