Very close to 5 stars. Food was fresh and hot and for the serving size the price was about right. The oysters were tough to chew but everything else was pretty good. Everything was clean except for the paper towel dispenser on the table, the top of it that you have to hold in order to pull and tear the paper towel off was filthy from peoples greasy fingers, who's why in part with the tough oysters is the reason for a 4 star review

This is a franchise from a southern chain that we had not tried before and is relatively new to Mobile. The menu has general fare like burgers, chicken, fried shrimp, and fish plates. The portion sizes were pretty big! But they also have poboys with oysters, shrimp, fish, etc. The red beans and rice were good, very similar to Popeyes. There are a nice variety of sides including Okra, Coleslaw, Red Beans & Rice, Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans, Fries or Mac & Cheese. The family meal looked like a good deal and there were a couple of varieties. Service was super friendly and it was extremely clean inside.

High point of the visit was the freshness beginning with the hush puppies that accompanied the GBD (golden brown delicious) food. Service was friendly but very slow took over 22 minutes to get two dishes. Had the chicken Philly that came with fries and it checked all the boxes. No frills place that delivers a consistent product. Want some fresh seafood this will fill that void daily.

Fast food fried seafood joint. Got some for togo and it is basically no frills poboys, fried seafood, with fries. Good if you're craving for something of the sort, nothing really stands out in a good or bad way.

4 piece fried fish, red beans and rice and cole slaw

stopped in here for supper on a recent trip. Glad we did, big portions, good side dishes, fair prices. My wife ordered the 2 fish dinner with 2 shrimp. It's been a long time since we've had shrimp this big and this tasty. The fish was hot and flaky and had a great taste. My wife's sides were cole slaw and green beans, both very good. I ordered the 4 fried fish dinner with red beans and rice and cole slaw. Both meals came with hushpuppies. My wife is still bragging on the meal. It was just down right good. Would definitely go there again if our travels warrant it.

My daughter loves to stop at this restaurant anytime we visit NE Louisiana. We had no idea that there are so many locations! We stopped at this particular location and ordered shrimp and catfish poboy combos. We decided to dine in but noticed that many people chose to carry out. We placed our order, took a seat and waited for our order number to be called once our food was prepared. Usually, there's an abundance of meat but I didn't have much on my sandwich on this visit but did have a ton of fries. I recommend any Sams Southern Eatery especially if you enjoy seafood.

Grilled 3 shrimp and 3 fish with red beans and rice and fries

Not the best ambiance (you could still see signs from when the location used to be a mexican restaurant?) and the lighting was weird and tables were sticky. We ordered the grilled 3 shrimp and 3 fish with red beans and rice and fries and ended up with an enormous styrofoam thing of food. It was more than enough for my BF and I to share for dinner. We got at least 6 shrimp which made my BF very happy. The fish and shrimp were very, very salty and they didn't really give much rice so we had a hard time finishing the food. Good place to go for some good cheap seafood though.

The fish isn't catfish as one would expect. It's Basa from Vietnam. The shrimp is prawn. Nothing from the States. Don't let them fool you. .

Let me say you better come with your appetite. Or you're going home with leftovers. I wanted a po-boy, shrimp n crawfish. It wasn't in the menu but waitress made it happen. That's a good waitress. When the platter showed up, it had a po-boy loaded, LOADED, with shrimp and tails. So many that they fell on ver into the FFs. Everything was excellent. Big shrimp. Lots of tails. An excellent tartar sauce. The FFs were some of the best I've ever had. I asked for crispy - they were perfect. I had so much left over the wife and I had it for dinner. When I got home, I told my daughter in law, who's from Shreveport, and she said Sam's is the best. She's right. Can't wait to try other offerings.

No ambiance to speak of but the vibe outside is themed with a colorful cat. Over all it was ok a little disappointing honestly to my taste buds but maybe I ordered wrong ... I was told the pork chops are the big hitter here- but as a fan of Nola and souther cooking I had high expectations. They have their own way of ordering here, they have an every day menu and different specials everyday, so make sure you check the menu before cause they don't offer some things everyday. we got fried chicken , Mac n cheese , corn bread, cabbage, and greens - our plates came over rice and gravy. And the peanut butter cake for dessert. To me the flavor was lacking, the chicken was fried well but I can understand why they don't serve it daily, cabbage and greens were basic no peppers or onion I could see, the Mac and cheese was just terrible. It was watery and sweet idk what was going on there but I'm not for it. Corn bread was southern. The best part was hands down the peanut butter cake. The cake itself was simple and a little dry but the frosting saved it with a rich and sweet peanut butter flavor and nice creamy consistency. I'd probably come back for dessert but not for food...

The porkchop gravy wasn't as thick as i like it but definitely good. I had the yams that were excellent and the cabbage that was cooked nicely. Gem Gem Gem!! I found it!…read more This place is not only cute but it's damn good food too. It's worth the 20 minute drive from Shreveport for all you LA film folks working in the area. They cater too. Amber Jolie, the owner of this lunch spot, comes from a long line of great cooks in her family. She opened this little place when she returned home from her big city escapades and realized that Shreveport desperately needed a good lunch spot that served quality food with great service. Each day Amber runs specials like gumbo, red beans, or chicken and dumplings but she has a consistent menu of sandwiches you can choose from too. Me personally, I go in there and just ask... "What am I having today?" and I let her choose for me. Her custom cakes and desserts are to die for. She made a banana fosters cheesecake for me that was so good I'm trying to convince her to ship one to me. The restaurant has limited indoor seating. But the there's a patio deck with tables and chairs which is great if you want to bring a group. She also sells produce that "ain't got none of that shit sprayed on it," AKA organic. It's all from local farmers so you feel good about picking up a bag of blueberries and a giant watermelon when you drop in for lunch. Afterall, you're supporting local business and farmers. Be sure to have her home-brewed mint sweet tea. It's not overly sweet and it's incredibly refreshing in the dead of summer. The cuban sandwich is screamin' too. I'm not a fan of Shreveport, but this would be the one reason I'd find my way back to city.
