The food was horrible. The service was bad. The manager was this African-American boy. He was very rude and disgusting when we picked up our food. Also, when my son bit into the hush puppy, there was something hard in the hush puppy. It broke his tooth. We called back to talk to management and was met with an argumentative African-American manager with a nasty attitude. The car was record. The food was cold. don't eat here if you want. This was my first trip to Sam's. I ordered six fried shrimp, mac and cheese, and corn. Well, the shrimp were huge and fantastic! So unexpected for Little Rock! The hush puppies were just okay. The corn was bland and the mac and cheese was way too salty. But the shrimp, lightly breaded and plump, more than made up for the rest! The service was friendly. My food was less than good. Only the wings were edible; there was no seasoning on the sides, the green beans tasted like they came straight from the can and sprinkled with garlic salt. The fish was gross. I wish I would have dug into the menu more. We called ourselves going the safe route and are totally unsatisfied. There weren't any condiments: no tarter sauce nor hot sauce for the fish neither ranch for the wings. The name is Sam's Southern Eatery..... I was looking for good catfish and this place hit the spot! Service was good, all the food we had was good. My only concerns are the place is not super clean and the bathroom is pretty bad. Also the "fish" is not catfish unless it says catfish. I asked and they said all the "fish" is Swai......which I refuse to eat but that's just me. However the whole catfish was excellent! read more

Service was excellent. It was like an old Captain D restaurant. Fried pickles was my favorite. My husband ordered fried oysters but they wasn't like Texas fried oysters. They was like a corn meal ball with an oyster in the middle but the corn meal was still dough, not done. If the menu says whole cat fish, it's the whole damn fish! Bones and tail included. That was my fault. Should have read the menu better. Overall it was a great place. read more

I was just there and my friend had ordered for me but he had ordered fried shrimp and I wanted grilled . I told the server that I wanted the grilled shrimp not fried and she informed me that it would be a $1.10 more ....and I said that would be fine . We waited for 25 minutes and so my friend went to the counter and made sure the girl pu t the order in .. .we waited another 30 minutes ...and I just said forget it and as I walked out she said (our server ) have a good nite ....now how in the hell could she not figure this out ....pitiful absolutely pitiful ...I'm surprised the health department hasn't closed it down it's so nasty in there . read more

Ordered thru Uber Eats, no problem with delivery but lots of problems with the food. Basically we had disappearing acts, no salad dressing on the salad, no extra ketchup or ranch for dipping as requested, no cheesecake as ordered, and any semblance of taste in the Mac and cheese and green beans also was missing. The fried foods (chicken and shrimp) were good, but would have been greatly enhanced by the missing dipping sauces. Very disappointed!! read more

Made the stop after seeing it had a good rating and it didn't disappoint. Ordered the fried fish family meal with cole slaw and red beans and rice. Great seasoning and crunch on the fish. Enjoyed the tartar sauce as well as it had a nice, unique flavor. My niece had some fried shrimp as well and those were delicious too! Sam's Southern Eatery rated 4 1/2 stars. They have a large choice of fish, shrimps, chicken dishes grilled or fried. We split a combination of this grilled and had leftovers. This came with 2 sides. We got the fried okra which I liked and the red beans & rice which I could have done without. There isn't much dining ambiance, but the service & food were pretty good. when we walked in the waiter was on her phone & the entire time she took our order she had her air pods in. she was also very dismissive & rude. also the ceiling was leaking as if they had some type of water damage & the waiter had a crop top, sweat pants &&& crocs with NO SOCKS..the food came out & after a few bites i noticed that there was a hair in my food... there was hair in the burger, cheese stick & green beans. i will NEVER go back & am very disappointed in myself for going there. read more

Rule of thumb: I there are no or few cars in the parking lot, especially on weekend nights, chances are people are staying away for some reason. We visited the restaurant on Oak street Conway, sat down and looked at the small menu, and immediately got up and walked out and went to another restaurant. I really hope Sams Eatery succeeds and stays in Conway, but from the way it looks, it's going to be tough. To the owner, (franchisee) please don't be angry at me for giving you a one star review. I read reviews posted here on Yelp and they all gave high ratings for this place. I decided to go with my siblings to buy some fried seafood there two weeks ago, and it was overwhelmingly good! I ordered an entree that included 3 fish, 3 jumbo shrimp, 3 chicken strips, and two sides. The amount they gave me was enough to feed all three of us. It was definitely filling and really good! We had to stop somewhere else to pick up more food, and the employee working the pick-up window asked me where I bought my fried fish (I was openly eating at this point). We loved this place! We are traveling from California for a wedding in Arkansas and wanted to try some local fare. My 21 year old daughter said it's the best chicken she's ever had. Obviously lots of fried foods here but everything was well prepared and crispy, nothing soggy or greasy.
