I reserved their party room for a ladies fellowship, I can't say enough about how everything was great! The food was absolutely delicious! The server "Logan" was awesome!!!! We try and fail and try again to support local businesses- our family fundamentally believes in the power of the Penny as a way to do what we can to support our community. That said, we have visited Sam's Too several times over the past 10 years + and only had a handful of positive experiences to show from it. It seems like the issues relate back to the preference for serving close friends and family deferentially and lumping everyone else into an other category. If the happens once or twice it would be forgivable, but consistently recurring across a decade creates a pattern. We don't frequent their business much anymore. read more

This place is my new favorite pizza/pasta place in the Springfield area. We moved here over 6 years ago and have struggled to find a pizza/pasta place that is good....until now. Food is flavorful, large quantities and very reasonable prices. I've had a few different pizzas and all have been good but their supreme is my favorite. Had the chicken parmesan pasta dish for lunch this week and it was soooo good; tons of chicken, pasta & cheese...sauce is a meat sauce too so very hearty meal. Pasta also came with choice of bread sticks or garlic bread. It fed me for lunch and myself and kiddo leftovers for dinner all for less than $10. Hidden little gem! read more

Would have given a negative. We waited over 30 minutes for a table the back was empty. There had been a party there that evening we were told had to sweep the area so we couldn't sit there. Truly believe was being ran by kids no manager on duty. One waiter, we had to ask for plates, silverware and napkins also refill for water. Waited 15 minutes to check out. The fact I've had to update my review 3 times in the last 5 years speaks to the inconsistency in their product and service. Unfortunately for them, it's just gotten worse. I support local, and will give mediocre places several tries. Because let's face it take out pizza isn't exactly cheap, if it's not good, it's an extra blow. We were on the fence tonight but decided to try Sams again. Ordered a Special pizza with no onion and added Pepperoni. Ordered a Italian Salad. The pizza was not even luke-warm. We live minutes away so it didn't get cold on the drive home. Crust had the texture of it being stale. The veggies (green peppers and ONION) were so crunchy it was bizarre, I started wondering if it was even cooked? No pepperoni as requested. My salad had a leaf and two hairs in it. Needless to say, the only thing this place has going for it is it's frozen chicken tenders because they're consistent. Feel like we should be refunded honestly. read more

Had the meatball sandwhich and it was excellent. Mozarella sticks for the appetizer were great too. They heat up the marinara sauce for the sticks which was nice. It was fairly crowded and they only had 1 waitress for some reason yet the service was great and the food came out quickly. The table next to us had pizza which looked really good. I can't speak to the pizza, maybe it's ok, but for dining otherwise this place is just terrible. I've eaten there twice. The first time, I ordered a breaded chicken italian sandwhich, like a chicken parm sandwich but with no cheese as I recall. I got a previouly frozen breaded chicken patty, fresh from the microwave, on an ordinary grocery store hamburger bun, with a foil pack of Ken's Salad Dressing on my plate (that made it Italian, I guess). The second time I ordered an Italian ham & cheese sandwich. I got an grocery store sub roll, split, with packaged ham underneath mozzarella cheese, put under a broiler for a few minutes. There were foil packs of mayo and mustard on the side. What you should know is that as far as I can tell, this place does no actual cooking. They appear to buy prepared food from someplace like Walmart, and then microwave or broil it. If you want that kind of meal, go to the Walmart yourself and save a few bucks. read more

Usually just order pizza for pick-up but ate in last night to have something different. Did not disappoint as usual. Lasagna was excellent and cheesy and very good sized portion for the price. The waiter was excellent in checking to make sure we had everything and even came to refill drinks before we were out but he was not overbearing - came by to check the right amount of times. I am very picky on Italian food and a big fan of Mario's but I think Sams Too has them beat. read more
