Went for dinner to Samudhra and the experience was good. We kept it simple and ordered Kodi 65- we ordered this twice, it was so good, Salmon 65, Mutton Biryani, Haleem and Ragi Muddha with Natugodi. Mutton birysni definitely didnt cut the mark for me, it was bland and lacked flavor. Haleem was so good! Drinks that we got- Mirchi Margherita, Aam Panna and Samudhra Mule.

What a wonderful find in Franklin township. We came here for lunch on a Monday and the place was packed. I guess that speaks a lot about its popularity. We ordered the non veg thali and it came out very promptly. The mocktail that I ordered was a little too sweet for my taste. Now when it comes to the non veg thali, omg, every dish was an explosion of flavors. It had everything ranging from fish, shrimp, chicken, mutton to dessert. Service was top notch and the ambiance was great. They kept refilling our food promptly whenever we needed. Definitely recommend and I will definitely come back!!

Kindly check their timing on the website properly. We came around 3:30 and only limited items from the menu were available which i don't complain, every establishment have their own standard and timing. Overall good experience in the high end restaurant. The seating arrangement and ambience is just amazing.

the first time i came here, i tried the vegetarian meal thali, which was an assortment of south indian vegetable curry, roti of choice, rice, and a sweet. my first time trying the place, it felt very authentic, like a home-cooked meal. however, i will say there are other comparable restaurants that i would try next time. on my most recent visit, i tried the chicken tikka grilled dish, which really blew me away. next time, i would try more of these tandoor dishes. it really stood out. what was especially great was the strong, intense spiced chicken that had a perfect, unique flavor profile, paired with an incredible tikka masala sauce. it was the correct portion for one person and a comparable price to the vegetarian meal. the wait can be a little long, usually i'm able to be seated right away, but the food can take up to 30 to 40 minutes depending on how busy they are. i would definitely recommend checking out this spot; it's a nice upscale indian restaurant in the area.

Samudhra Premium Restaurant NJ located in Franklin Park, New Jersey It is an upscale restaurant which serves contemporary regional cuisine of India in a muted color scheme in the sleek dining vibes which provides an ideal backdrop for the kitchen's rout of boldly seasoned dishes. In Samudhra everything is made from scratch to be as delectable as what precedes them. They prepare their food in Desi Ghee( clarified butter) Chef Dheeraj ( Executive Chef) and it's team features incredibly unique dishes that combine creative innovation with honored traditions of the region. We tried Paan Martini Negroni Mumbai Velvet martini Dahi ke Kebab Kodi 65 Macchi Tikka Lamp chops Hyderabadi Dum goat biryani Dum ka Murgh Phool Makhana Masala Cheese and chilli Naan Laccha paratha Samudhra Delight Falooda If you're looking for a upscale Indian restaurant in New Jersety complete with crowd-pleasing dishes and excellent service..Samudhra it is ... Food is delicious! Both thali options have a great variety and large portions. Reservations definitely recommended. The dining area and lounge are decorated very nicely. Staff is friendly, our server Vikas went above and beyond to make our dining experience wonderful. Planning to dine here again for sure.

ALWAYS READ REVIEWS - please. Based on a recommendations, we decided to have a surprise dinner with a family of 10 people. I saw the rating but did not read the reviews. My mistake. They have a dress code. My teenage sun wore black track pants. The manager would not let us in. I had to leave and drive my son to Target to get pants so we could enter. As home is about 1 hr away. This has occurred to multiple people - check other reviews. And honestly... it's not that great of place. In the middle of southern Jersey there are many other quality Indian restaurants within a mile. Ambiance is similar to other local restaurants. The food tastes fine but the wait staff is not attentive. Automatic 18% tip and the audacity to ask for +2-5% above this was kind of silly. Sadly I can't recommend this place. Save your money and go someplace else.

Nice upscale restaurant in Franklin Park, NJ. Enjoyed dinner Sunday night here. We tried Mirchi Bhaji, Dal Makhani and Tawa Paneer with roti and chill-garlic naan. All the dishes were tasty, right proportion and appropriate price point. Service is attentive and quick. I have come here for a GNO few months back and have also enjoyed their lunch-thali in the lounge. Both the experiences were pretty decent. The restaurant is definitely worth a try if you are in this area

Soon To Be Famous was good too but it was sweeter than I usually like. The Spanish Octopus starter was tender, perfectly cooked, and delicious. It has a rustic farmhouse feel (wood floors with wide boards, multiple fireplaces) but still comes across as more upscale than your typical tavern. The dining room has a warm atmosphere without being too loud, so you can actually have a conversation without shouting. We started with the seasonal pickle plate (beets, carrots, cauliflower, cucumber, fennel, olives) and the bread plate (three different breads with two different butters and olive oil). Both were a good way to kick things off. The pickled vegetables had a nice variety and the bread was fresh and paired well with the accompaniments. For our entrees, my wife went with the homemade pasta while I chose the Wagyu NY strip steak cooked medium rare with bourbon maple glazed root vegetables. The steak was cooked exactly as requested and had great flavor. The root vegetables added a nice sweetness that complemented the dish well. My wife really enjoyed her pasta and had enough to take some home. To finish the night, we had the mozzarella gelato (yes, you read that right - mozzarella), along with tea for my wife and coffee and Sambuca for me. The gelato was a unique dessert and a nice way to wrap up the meal. Our waitress Jemma was very friendly and attentive throughout the night without being overbearing. Overall, everything was very good. This is definitely a place we would return to, especially for a nice dinner out.

The service was very friendly, and the food came out promptly. They also provided complimentary champagne for our celebration. For appetizers, the duck bacon and vegetable fritters ($16) and hand-made potato and cheese pierogies ($19) were ordered. The fritters consisted of house cured and smoked duck breast with a whipped lemon ricotta. There were two present and each were fried perfectly. The lemon ricotta was definitely needed to pair with the salty fritter. It was a great compliment. The pierogies were of the squash variety and they came with caramelized onions and sauteed greens. There were about five or six substantial size pierogies and each sized appropriately. The squash layer really made them airy and the filling was tasty. The onions were a little too soft as there was some type of broth present. The greens were ideal though. For an entrée, I had the signature tavern burger ($38). It was a cold smoked grass-fed ground beef patty with caramelized onion, bone marrow, bacon jam, and potato wedges. I also had the gruyere and bacon added to the burger for no extra fee. When I initially ordered, I thought the bone marrow was just going to be on the burger, but I was wrong. Right next to the burger was one of bigger bone marrows I have seen. It was very good with the onions and bacon pieces. The marrow itself paired nicely with the bacon and onions. For the burger itself, I opted for it to be medium rare, and it came out perfect. There was an ideal ratio of bread to filling. The bacon jam was not too overpowerful, and the meat was seasoned well. The potato wedges which I believe were cooked in tallow were also large. They were crispy and seasoned nicely too. It was a well put together meal. I also tried the lamb being offered that night which I believe came with a lamb sausage and a shallot tzatziki. This was solid as well, but there were a number of fatty pieces I was surprised to see. For dessert, the mozzarella gelato ($12) was ordered. Yes, this had to be ordered to give it a try, and it was well received. There was not an overpowerful flavor of cheese, which I was afraid of. It did taste like mozzarella, but not overwhelming. The actual gelato was very creamy too, which I am sure helped. Will I go back? I would.

There was a young lady sitting in the corner in the phone telling us that there were no seats if we didn't have a reservation. Not the most polite but whatever. We went back to the bar and got a table. Why are bar tables always so sticky?! Anyhoo, we just missed the Happy Jour menu but it was only a $1-2 discount (except for the burger: $4). Service was pleasant and attentive. The food was overpriced for sitting in a bar. $30 for a bowl of ramen! (I don't know how it tastes but it's $17 across the street.) $22 for a burger and fries! $10 for two little bao with a single shrimp in each! Ok, that's not too bad since Bao is generally overpriced for some reason but I could have gotten more than one shrimp. Unfortunately, the price did not reflect the quality. My friend who got the ramen said it was in the bottom 25% he's ever had. My burger was pretty good but the bun was toasted and brittle and made an unnecessary mess. The fries--personal preference--I don't like skinny fries. As for the bao, the shrimp was too salty. I liked the finishing salt but the flavoring salt was too heavy. Also, it was drizzled with aioli and I couldn't pick it up and eat it like the sandwich it was. Overall, a disappointment. Mediocre food and an elevated price for no reason.
