First and foremost, this is a beautiful venue. The garden was a wonderful setting for a wedding. Lots of greenery and large fountains for photo ops. The indoor space is elegant as well. Food was good for a buffet, especially the hors devours and dessert. My husband really liked the coffee. All that said, the bussers need to chill. Make sure someone guards your food or drink when you use the restroom or they will take it before you're done, and I'm talking well before the end of the event. Bathrooms were a bit iffy. Several stalls and sinks were out of order and soap was hard to come by. I'm not sure if it was related to Covid, so I'll give them the benefit of a doubt. read more

I wish the food trucks had smaller portions for a lower price, so that you could try more things without getting full so quickly. I also wish there was more food trucks there. I felt the options were very slim and the menus were very similar to each other and I wanted to try something new. Breezy Bowls: I tried the Breezy Bowl. 10/10. Asked for no blueberries. It was very good. Açaí is on the sweeter side, along with the honey in there. Center street BBQ: -Pulled pork burrito 7/10. I forgot what this was actually called. It's absolutely humongous. You could share this between 2-4 people. Could do without the rice inside. Good but it's a texture thing with the meat that's a little off. I ate about half of it. -Bbq sauces were good. We were there for a Christmas party. It was decorated beautifully in the lobby. We found our room easily and everything went like clockwork. The appetizers were good and plentiful. The bar was staffed well and you never had to wait long for a drink. There was a sit down salad service and the salads tasted very fresh. The rest of the meal was a buffet with lots of good choices and restocked promptly. There was a roast beef carving station with your choice of how you wanted it cooked. I attended an event for a local nonprofit at Samuel's. as far as the venue went, the building was satisfactory, the decorations were nice, and the landscaping was in really good shape. The food however was not the greatest. Our meal consisted of fried chicken, some kind of steak, A baked potato and some green beans. The chicken and baked potato were decent. The steak on the other hand was one of the saltiest pieces of meat I have ever had. The rub was extremely salty and peppery. This was always the place to go for brunch. We went this past Mother's Day and what a disappointment. Nothing like what it used to be, about half the selection of food. The food was terrible also, everything seemed to be like leftovers. For $50 a person I don't expect to leave hungry and have to stop somewhere else to eat. We went to a very large (300+) wedding here over the weekend. The steak is by far the best steak I've had at a wedding, with out doubt. Everything was done perfectly and the wedding went off without a hitch. The staff was extremely professional and provided excellent service. We were at Samuel's in the grande ballroom for a decent sized wedding (around 175-200 guests). The ceremony was right at the location, in the gazebo in the back. The grounds were beautiful, but the microphone was so low that you couldn't hear most of the ceremony. The reception was directly after. The staff was very nice and helpful. The room was EXTREMELY cool, and we found ourselves going outside frequently to warm up. The bathrooms were clean, and large. We were one of two weddings there, so I never had to wait to use the restroom. Our room was NOT Handicap accessible, so some family members struggled to get down the 6 steps to the reception and ceremony. The bathroom was also up those same six steps. The appetizers were petty good, and there was a large amount of food. We got the filet for dinner, and it was VERY good. It was not over cooked, and was tender and moist. The baked potato and vegetable were good too. They got the baked Alaska, so the staff brought it out with great fanfare, and music. Overall it was a nice experience. read more

This is not the place to go if you have multiple food allergies/intolerances. They couldn't guarantee that there wouldn't be cross contamination in their kitchen and they gave me a hard time when I asked them to accommodate me-- even though my meal was paid for ahead of time and we informed them of my allergies ahead of time. They also didn't offer me the option of cancelling and getting a refund so I sent someone else to go to dinner in my place. I had such a nice time here with my family for Easter brunch this year. The food was great, the venue was pretty, they offered valet parking, the venue was easy to get to and easy to find. It was a little bit loud, but that's expected for such a large banquet. It would be a lovely place to do a large wedding, or some kind of honor ceremony. A couple things were a little annoying, the parking lot is awkward and especially when there are so many people trying to find spots to park, it was a bit difficult. There were long (and I mean long) rows of spots but no way to get over to the other side if a spot was available or if someone were leaving. Also, making a left into the venue on Main Street in Clarence is no walk in the park, especially with the gridlock that tends to build up because people want to turn in to the parking lot but there is nowhere to go. That was definitely annoying. The food was delicious, the service was prompt and friendly, and overall it was a great experience besides the parking lot, really. We had our medschool semi-formal here and I had high expectations going in after looking at the website. Upon arrival, the manor was as stunning as advertised. This is what I envision plantation homes looking like - gorgeous white columns, bright chandeliers, and decorations upon decorations. I bet this place is even more impressive during the day w/ the fountains and the gardens. Our banquet hall was massive - clearly fitting for weddings and conferences albeit the "dance floor" didn't look like it could fit anymore than 30-40 people (we had a good 100+). The evening began with a full open bar (+++) but even that could not prevent everything from subsequently spiraling downwards. Our hors d'oeuvres were nothing more than a cold platter of vegetables that look like they sat a week too long in the fridge and confusing mix of cheeses (one option was sliced deli provolone - I got some of that in my fridge from Wegman's for a few bucks). When our salad came, it was clear to me that the staff felt they should be applauded merely for being able to serve us all and that that should excuse them from having to put any care/thought into the plating. Case in point - I looked around and ppls salad's were hanging off the edge of the plate as they were being served. Having to scoop dangling lettuce back onto my plate is not exactly the way I would like to start any meal. Oh, thanks for the soggy croutons and the two tiny mandarin oranges from a can too. Next, my entire table was served their entree and it looked like they had run out when it came to me. I made eye contact with the server ,and she nodded to me and mouthed that she was out. I assumed that meant that she would go back to the kitchen and get more. But nope, she served other tables and stood around twiddling her thumbs and avoided me when I tried to get her attention again. You picked the wrong guy to not serve. It wasn't until another server came by 5-10 minutes later was I able to get an entree that was meant for another table. Oh yea, he handed the plate to me, watched me burn my hands, then decided to warn me that the plate was extremely hot. Thanks buddy! By that time, my table is halfway through w/ their plates and I see just empty looks as their go through their food. Well, the prime rib cut, though sloppy, was tasty and juicy. The baked potato was, well a baked potato (they weren't so bad to be able to screw that one up). The chicken cutlet was covered in a soggy batter only leaving me to wonder if it was meant to be like this or if it was due to the fact that all the plates came out w/ steam covers on them. Oh yea, there were carrots on the plate too. Oh boy! Well in all, not terrible, but again the plating was a mess - about as well as I would do if this was a buffet = NOT GOOD. Last was our ice cream w/ a drizzle of chocolate syrup which again was dripping off the sides and hinted that they had lined up all the cups of ice cream ran the syrup across them all. Yes, that saves time, but if I wanted my food from a factory line, those golden arches do a cleaner job than you Mr. Samuel. In the end, as nice as the manor looked, their attention to their food fell harder than Humpty Dumpty. Serving that many people doesn't mean you can water down the quality THAT MUCH. I'm definitely more forgiving realizing how many people there were but the fact is, the way my food was served was as messy as if I was serving a pet if I had one. read more

I had gotten married here over a year ago and to this day I still am getting compliments about how wonderful my wedding was here. The food was wonderful, the staff was super helpful and friendly, and our captain (can't remember her name) was spectacular. Anytime myself or my wedding party needed anything, there was always someone there to help. The DJ was just the best (we had to use her per Samuels). She played amazing music which was nostalgic and fun! The venue outside in the gazebo was beautiful and there were plenty of gorgeous sights for photos. The food was so bad on Mother's Day our family vowed never to go back. The seating arrangements were like economy class on an airplane and the environment was ramshackle. But it was the awful food at premium prices which was a permanent deal breaker. Then we were invited to a wedding and reception, so we had to go. At the wedding a woman next to us almost fell to the ground sitting on a broken plastic chair. The chairs were dirty. The seating arrangements at the reception were like fitting a square peg into a round hole. The entree was a combination chicken/steak platter for everyone. The chicken glistened, not a good sign. I didn't eat it. I tried one bite of the steak and that was enough. It had a musty flavor I had never tasted in steak before. The huge pretty looking dollops of "butter" for bread and butter were no help. They were (I think) margarine or some chemical concoction and immediately offensive to the taste. Went there last night for a wedding. The place is beautiful on the outside and also outside in the back where there are fountains, a large fire pit and decor. As far as the venue for the wedding, the space was good but I did not enjoy hearing the blaring music from the wedding next door while the best man was giving his speech. I understand there are more weddings going on at once but it was extremely distracting. The food was really good. I didn't know what to expect especially for wedding food but the steak was excellent. It was cooked more on the rare side so very juicy and flavored well. I was not crazy about the chicken that was also served. The salad and veggies were typical, not bad but nothing to rave about. I went to the Mother's Day brunch last week and the food was cold, somewhat burnt and flavorless. We were seated in the corner by the kitchen and servers were bumping into us with trays and buckets. Our server rushed us as if he wanted us out of there. Yesterday was my prom and it was held here. About an hour after we had gotten there dinner was served. When we got up to get drinks the server at the bar began to yell at us and told us the bar was closing and that she wasn't going to give drinks out. Many people had already drank the water that was previously set out and were thirsty the whole night. At about 9 o'clock a server came back out and offered us drinks. Really, for a wedding dinner that probable cost $70.00 a plate or more. What a rotten experience. Attended wedding at Samuel's today. Service was excellent. The wait staff was attentive and friendly, responding to requests quickly. The dinner was outstanding. Appetizers during the cocktail hour were delicious and visually appealing. The dinner started with shrimp cocktail with jumbo shrimp that were tender and sweet. The salad had a good amount of blue cheese on the greens. The entree of filet mignon and chicken breast was served with asparagus and carrots. The beef was cooked rare with a hot red center, exactly to my liking. Portions were generous, many people taking part of their dinner home with them. Baked Alaska completed the meal. I read some very negative reviews of this facility and wanted people to know that Samuel's has lots of positives, at least in the experience of almost everyone at the wedding today. read more

This is what I said and the unprofessional response I received from the restaurant. * * The food quality was barely worth the 50% off price. We would never consider paying full price for what we got. In fact, I doubt we will ever go back even at 50% off. Some examples of poor quality food are the follows. Eggs Benedict is supposed to have poached, runny yoke eggs, not HARD BOILED with hard fully cooked yokes; The Seafood Newberg had no real seafood in it, it was just loaded with imitation (fake) crab (you know that red died stuff that you can buy for $1.99/lb) and fake bay scallops. The orange juice tasted metallic like it was from a can. It is hard to describe the so called Bloody Mary. It was so watered down, and I don't mean just the alcohol. There wasn't even a hint of tomato flavor. I can't believe they watered down tomato juice, making it into pink water. The bacon was completely inedible. It tasted like they deep fried it in rancid grease. The out of the can corned beef hash not only looked like dog food, it was so liquidy & oily it could have been served as flavorless soup. And one last thing about the venue, if you by chance ever go there, DO NOT sit in the middle of the room (Center Room). The air vent in the center of the room on the ceiling has at lease an inch of what looks like greasy dust and dirt caked up on it. There were obvious spots where dirt had fallen off, probably into some unfortunate person's food. When I brought it to the server's attention, he said someone else pointed it out to him last month. It looks like it has been that way for years.The health department should probably shut them down for it. It is definitely not healthy. Come on people, get a ladder and clean it. When I saw it, the first thing that came to mind is Legionaries Disease. This is the kind of stuff that breeds bacteria.
