Very nice establishment in the small town of Southbury. Friendly waitress who today was the only employee waiting on many tables. We, the 4 of us, ordered from the lunch specials which include soup, an appetizer and a main. Our family left full and happy. Highly recommend. Mmmmmm

Great stop for a quick lunch! I love "a little bit of everything" type lunch. Samui had the perfect lunch special for that- choice of cup of soup, choice of small app (2 piece dumpling, spring roll, or salad), and an entree! Being it was my first time there I really liked the variety. I had the Pad See U with vegetables, coconut soup and spring rolls. The pad see u was delicious, and though it doesn't look like it don't let the container fool you, it was a big portion, a full plate of noodles and fresh crisp veggies. The spring rolls were tasty, I liked that they had glass noodles in them. The coconut soup was good also, it had mushrooms and chicken in it. (It does have a slight hint of fish sauce taste, similar to the after taste of curry). I also ordered wings - they were a bigger size wing than most thai restaurants i've been to and not as salty. That being said they definitely needed the dipping sauce they came with. Overall I would say everything was a lot less salty than other places which I appreciated. Somehow I drove right past it in the plaza - it's unit #305 and faces main street south. (Same plaza as nardelli's, its next to ion bank). Everything was perfectly packed, organized, utensils, and pick up service was friendly.

I had a great lunch take out here today! I just came back from vacation so I was craving some Asian cuisine and this was the best spot for it. $14 got me drunken noodles, 2 dumplings and a Tom yum soup. Everything was so delicious!! I was able to choose other entrees and other types of side mixes as well. It was a large quantity too for it being a lunch order. Food was ready to be picked up pretty fast also.

After some shopping in the area, my mom and I were craving Thai and decided to try a new place. When we opened the menu, we were super excited to discover Samui is the sister restaurant to our usual go-to, Bangkok Room in Ansonia! We were met with the same quality in food and service that we know and love. The beef pan fried and the pad Thai were delicious. I will definitely return when I find myself in the area wanting Thai!

After a recent trip to Thailand, I was itching for some incredible Thai food. This place hit the mark. We tried the a couple different curries and they were delicious and so flavorful. Service was prompt and the ambiance was quaint... a smaller dining area with lots of themed decor.

The top dish is noodles with pork, the bottom dish is Thai fried rice with shrimp.

I stopped in for lunch on Saturday with my wife. Both food and service were excellent. We ordered the lunch specials that came with soup, appetizer and entree with your choice of protein. We also ordered the fresh (summer) rolls with peanut sauce, delicious! The ambience is laid-back. We will be back.

Best drunken noodles with chicken I've had, backed with veggies. I haven't tried anything else yet because I can't get enough of it.

One got the sense that the other diners that evening felt much the same way. It was a weeknight, and with a lower customer load than might be the case on a Friday or weekend, she had ample time to spend with each party, regaling us all with fun conversation. It goes without saying that the company in one's own party makes a whale of a difference, and in that regards I could not have asked for better. This is to take nothing away from the food, which was absolutely delicious, flavorful and mercifully not too spicy - our aging gastrointestinal systems are sadly just not up for the violent torment from a chilli assault like when we were younger, and felt invincible. The mango rice dessert - enough for two to split - was sublime. And the town of Naugy itself - for both of us an unknown quantity til that evening despite having whizzed past it a ton on Route 8, hammering down the famous Naugahyde River Valley - is intriguing. Naugatuck offers gorgeous and fascinating architecture from the last two centuries at least, evidence of thriving mill-driven industry in years past, very easy access from the highway, and lots of close on-street parking, at least on a Thursday evening. BYOB if you are that way inclined, as they don't have a liquor license. Will we be back to Chiangmai Thai? Abso-frikkin-lutely. I've you've already been, then go back again, and soon. If you haven't had the pleasure, get moving now and thank me later.

High-End Fusion & The Best Sushi in Southbury! If you're…read morelooking for a step up from your standard takeout, Oriental Gourmet in the Southbury Plaza is the place to be. It is a fantastic Japanese/Thai/Chinese fusion spot that hits the mark on both quality and ambiance. The Highlights: * The Southbury Roll: This is a must-order! It is incredibly flavorful, fresh, and easily one of the best specialty rolls in the area. * Amazing Soups & Fusion: Their Thai and Japanese-style soups are standout starters. Whether you're getting sushi or Thai curry, the ingredients always taste premium. * Astounding Chinese Classics: While they do "fancy" food well, their traditional Chinese dishes are excellent. The flavors are clean and the quality of the meats is top-notch. * Pro Tip on Portions: Keep in mind that while the quality is high, the combination platter portions can be a little smaller than your average "hole-in-the-wall" spot. Also, some favorites like the Boneless Spare Ribs (which are delicious!) need to be ordered as separate items rather than in a combo. The Experience: It's a bit more expensive than other spots in the Valley, but you're paying for the freshness and the atmosphere. The ambiance inside is great for a nice sit-down dinner, and because it's located in the main plaza, parking is never an issue. It's my favorite "go-to" when I want high-quality sushi and a great dining environment right in the heart of downtown Southbury!

I would highly recommend this restaurant if you love Thai food…read more I started with the crab Rangoon and battered shrimp, simply amazing! Finished with a huge bowl of soup was just a delight. I'm from New Jersey so I'll definitely come back next time I visit my sister in Woodbridge CT. The girls that work there were very pleasant and attentive to all our needs.

It's not often I ever really go into Watertown, especially nowadays. It may be just a quick bus…read moreride from where I live, but at the same time I just don't really find a reason to go there, or really anywhere in Litchfield County for that matter. Today however, that changed. Before I left to go to the Orthodontist in Watertown I got referred to by my dentist, I did a quick browse on Yelp to go ahead and see what would be a good take-out spot in the area. As soon as I did, the most obvious place I could that was open was this little spot. There was a diner in the same plaza as the orthodontist I visited, but they were gonna be closed before I could get out. So ThaiBowL it was (and yes, they capitalize that final L for some reason). Because I did take-out, I didn't go inside. Instead, I had to order through a side window. I was able to take a menu home with me which was nice. Maybe if I decide to go through with the treatment of realigning my jaw I could try some of their pho IF what I got today is any good. Side note, you DO need to ask for utensils, but the lady who served asked for me, so I gladly accepted them so I could eat while I waited for my bus to go back home. So what did I get today that probably would be illegal with braces on you might ask? How about some Crab Rangoon and Volcano Shrimp? And honestly, this is the best Crab Rangoon I've had yet. It's creamy and actually bursts with filling with each one they prepare. It is on the sweet side, so if that ain't your thing then you might decide to skip on these. It comes with plum sauce, something I had thought to be a first whenever I've had crab rangoon. Of course, the last place I went to called them "Crabmeat Cheese Fried Wonton's" and basically added a salt lick into some red sauce, so I'd say this time around was a major improvement. As for the Volcano Shrimp, they're crispy when you get them, but you have to eat them immediately. If not, you're allowing the breading to get soggy quite quickly. But I otherwise liked everything about the dish. The sweet sauce was more sweet than spicy, vegetables were well-cooked, and the shrimp was flavorful. The white rice that came with it was good too, but it doesn't stand out compared to other white rices because, at the end of the day, it's white rice. I'll place this at a 4 for now, but if I go through with my treatment and start coming here more often, my review and maybe my rating will change.
