It's been maybe a decade since I've stopped at a Samurai Sam's. Haven't been working in Nevada as frequently, but landed early and decided to grab a rice bowl with chicken and vegetables, spicy. Their sauce is an A+ and the meal tasted great, an A. The chicken breast was charbroiled perfectly, not dry but a nice charbroil flavor. The restaurant was empty and they do have seating for maybe 30 people Max. For a quick healthy meal this is a great place to stop by. My work had this place catered and DAMN it was delicious!! The teryiaki sauce is seriously top notch and I dont say that lightly. I have been to waba and teriyaki madness and Ono Hawaiian. I would give Ono an 8.5, waba a 7.5 and teryiaki madness a 6. This place gets a SOLID 10!!! Beef is great, and chicken is amazing ! My husband and I now have this place about twice a month. The service (Sophia) is sooo wonderful and kind and helpful! The only downer is that now there is only one place in Las Vegas (near the airport ) which is a bummer since we just discovered this place about 4 months ago. Probably one of the worst meals I have had in Las Vegas. I ordered a chicken bowl spicy half vegetables half rice there was no spice and the chicken was extremely dry, the portion amount was comical. I can't believe they still offer the $5 special here! It been a while for me but when I decided to eat here today I was surprised by that special! The place is clean. The food is good and the service is decent. I like the veggies in the bowl with the teriyaki dark meat chicken so I have no problem eating the special. Mmmm, they do a great job here with their spicy steak teriyaki.... it's the only thing I order but it's the best. I wish they'd give a little extra sauce without having to charge for it though. The cashier was friendly...the place was clean....that's about it. Ordered the sumo bowl and was pleasantly surprised they offered cauliflower rice as an alternative, so I decided to give it a go... the cauliflower rice was pretty much steamed and then dumped in to my bowl, water and all. The steak was so dry, same with the chicken breast white meat...the only thing that helped any was the dark meat...but that can only do so much when there was zero flavor to the entire bowl. I've spent years eating at teriyaki places. Being a military veteran there is usually several to choose from near most military bases. This is easily the worst teriyaki place I've ever eaten. The food is not good at all. I didn't even want to finish it. I should have known it was going to be this bad, when the food was literally put on the counter in the bowl before I was even done paying at the counter. Means they probably just have it sitting in a container and scoop it into a bowl as soon as someone orders. We had our food in our hands before we even finished paying. My veggies were cold. Not even slightly warm at all. The chicken was reheated and therefore very dry. It was not even cooked fresh. The chicken had this "I just got reheated from day old chicken" taste where it was kind of mushy in my mouth. I went back up to the counter and told them and they took the chicken out of the bowl, laid it on the grill for about 1 more minute and put it back in the bowl. Yeah, no thank you. I just left it on the counter and walked away. I will never go back. read more

This place didn't quite, cut it. Get it, Samurai swords and they cut stuff...and...um, oh boy. Anyway, this place was option three on my quest to get some type of Teriyaki food in my belly. Sadly, the first two places were jam packed and this third option was on the way to some of my errands. First red flag, the place is empty on a Saturday afternoon during snacking time and they're right next door to a major shopping area. Second red flag, three stars on Yelp. "Hmmm, let's eat", my stomach took over my brain at this point and the next thing I know I was at the counter ordering. "I'll have the Spicy Steak and Broccoli Bowl w/ an egg roll." What seemed like three seconds later, "order up!" and boom my plate had arrived. This dish visually was not super appealing and did not even come close to the picture on the menu; it also looked very dark and almost burnt. That old saying looks can be deceiving, well in this case they weren't, the steak was over-cooked and the rice tasted like it had been sitting for awhile. This dish got better once I smothered it in Sriracha and some extra teriyaki sauce. The broccoli was actually cooked well and tasted fresh, which besides the extra sauces, is what probably saved this dish. The egg rolls here are very interesting. Normally egg rolls are filled with veggies or meat or both and fried. Theses were stuffed, fried and then toasted? I'm not sure if they did this to heat them up or keep them crispy, but they just came out burnt and tasting bitter. The Samurai food gods would be displeased with such disrespect for the egg roll. This was almost a two star rating, but this place is very clean and the customer service here is quick and helpful. I might give another location a second chance. read more

So I always drive by here and never tried for like a while lol. It's kinda a place you see and you're like "ehhh is it worth it? Let me work it, put my thang down flip it and reverse it" lmao. ANYWAYS I was at work and the coworkers and I decided we would go try it out since it seemed semi healthy. As we walked in we were greeted, the staff seemed nice! It was Ken who took our order. I am a fan of good customer service! I mean who isn't? And Ken definitely made us in a good mood! At three dollars less, consider it the bootleg version of Teriyaki Madness' bowl. The employees are kind and efficient, which is why three and a half turns into four stars. Yay! In my opinion, Samurai Sam's has gone way downhill over the years. The location that was great (Lake Meade and Buffalo) has gone way downhill; the best location (Eastern near St. Rose) is long gone. This store reflects its location at the LV Factory Outlet. Service was polite enough. But when the other young men started taking orders, I watched. He greeted guests with "What can I get you?" rather than "Hello" or "Welcome" or "Hi" followed by "What can I get you?" I never saw him smile at anyone. One chair had rice on it, so we didn't sit at that table. When someone finally could get out to clean tables, he shoved the chairs under the tables without looking at them. I pulled the chair back out and said "You should probably wipe the rice off of the seat of this chair, or a guest will leave with food smeared on their clothes." I'm shaking my head. Actually CHECKING the chairs (and floor) should be as routine as cleaning the tables. But there are two young men running the place; not exactly who you turn to for domestic goodness, right? My husband does think he got a lot more chicken than vegetables in his bowl. He said he got a lot more vegetables from the store on Eastern. I'm not sure he's right. I think we used to get large bowls and today we got the regular. Wall paintings and decorations are a bit funky. Corporate really isn't paying attention. I suffered from Yelper's remorse on this visit, rule #1 look it up on Yelp and read the damn reviews first. I was out and about looking for a lite bite for lunch and came across this joint. I paid my $5 (small bowl) and took it to go to later unwrap a bowl of soggy and wilted broccoli all (2) tiny pieces and cucumber slices galore. The brown rice was ok what there was of it. The teriyaki sauce was ok that was lightly glazed covering the veggies. I was disappointed to say the least, they should rename it the "2 pieces of broccoli and cucumber slices wilted to perfection bowl". I went back in to ask for more sauce. She said the meals we ordered don't come with sauce. So I then proceeded to ask her for sauce because that's how I like to eat my meal.
