Service is terrible. Let me start off by saying the food is good here at this place but the service is awful. My wife and I wanted to pick up some sushi to go and eat at home to enjoy our anniversary. After they told us it would be a 45 mins wait we said that's fine no problem. We showed up and there was no order placed we verified when calling in that we were calling in to the Hesperia location. Instead of being told sorry we will fix it and get on it we were told we lost your order if you like we can put in the order now and it will be another 45 min wait time. I said no thank you they didn't offer anything. We then left I called back to verify one more time that this was the right location and they verified it was and the girl just laughed on the phone and hung up. I would think if you are charging about $20 a roll and I order 4 rolls to go that's not a bad order for the business owner of this location to bill $80 in what maybe takes 10 mins to prep at most. It sucks that I have to write this review but just be courteous and try to offer a solution that doesn't require the business to loose a good paying customer. Although I don't think anything will come of this review. If you place a phone order just remind them 5 times on the phone to place your order the last thing you want is your family waiting 45 mins to be told we lost your order would you like us to put it in now. read more

This was my second time coming here and it was not great. We came on a Friday evening and they weren't super busy. We were seated right away. It took a long time for anyone to come and get our drink order and then the waitress left our drinks sitting for another waitress to bring to us. We ordered our food and the rolls were good, we've never had a problem with the food. It's all the service. We were never checked on even though we needed refills before we even got our food. We then finished our food and stacked up our plates to let them know we were done and it took over 10 minutes for either waitress to check on us. They were just standing in the back doing nothing. This place has gone down hill recently. I've ordered takeout before and during covid regularly and now when I get orders things that you would often get automatically are missing. For instance, wasabi not being included in the order, etc. My favorite appetizer usually comes with wasabi, sriracha, and some sauce in a container for takeout, I've missed at least one of those items each time I've ordered for the past three times, prior to this it wasn't inconsistent. My most recent order or sashimi included the skin of the fish on multiple pieces and it was hard to chew so I had to throw it away Also the customer service has gone downhill and it seems only so when the owner or previous manager is not there. This place is one of the better sushi restaurants I've been to. Not too expensive, sashimi portions were huge in comparison to any other sushi place I've ever been to. We shared the sashimi, I got the eel roll and energy roll (which was eel + yellowtail). The portions of eel in the rolls was low, I wish I tasted more eel in both rolls. Flavors were great all around. Their hot green tea was amazing, the ponzu sauce had a salty umami flavor to it whereas most store bought brands have a sweeter taste. I've never seen pumpkin tempura (and not a big fan of pumpkin as it is) but it wasn't bad. The batter was light and crispy. Tempura sauce was also very tasty and wasn't salty at all (like store bought brands). They had a complimentary salad that had a fantastic dressing to it. It was a salty and sour flavor that paired very well with the shishito peppers in there too. Ambiance was a little lackluster I would say though, it was purely piano then switched to jazz (Norah Jones). Great music but it was putting us to sleep. Just needs something more upbeat. Not sure, but restaurants are often in old buildings that don't smell but that's what I told myself in order to be seated. The waitress that seated me was very inattentive. I asked for the restroom but also advised her that I would love warm green tea to get started. Restroom was fairly clean. No complaints there. This spot was the closest to home and had pretty good reviews, so in we went. It was a great experience from the moment we walked through the door. It was clean, comfortable, and the service was spectacular. The menu was reasonably priced and we were prepared for medium portions. We were SHOCKED at the generous portions, beautiful presentation, but best of all, the incredible quality and flavor. The customer service was terrible, we had to wait a long time to get someone to take our order. They basically gave us a sheet of paper and told us to hand write what we want to order. My coworker went up to the server to hand him the order and she told him to sit down. We waited again and then I just handed her the order and basically encouraged her to take it. This process took 15 to 20 minutes. The food came out and I thought it was average. Nothing more I can say about it. The positive part of it was the free apple dessert they gave us. Today my son and I decided to try this place out for the first time. We were pleasantly surprised. We tried four various rolls, spicy edamame and squid skewers. All the rolls were tasty, fresh and large. The rest of our meal was as expected. A complimentary salad and dessert were a nice addition. We travel a lot and quite frequently eat sushi. I would say this is not the best sushi we've ever had but is probably the best we have had up here in the high desert. As far as service, our server was attentive and our food arrived quickly.
