Donut place is the same as every other place. Pricing is the same based on my comparison of similar places nearby. Best donut was the mochi as the sweetness was "not too sweet," by Asian standards and nice chew. Didn't see the mochi available when I stopped by and got a random assortment. Yum! I've been hunting for blueberry old fashioned and any version of cronuts I could find. Surprisingly, blueberry old fashioned is far harder to find and I've finally found it here! Everything is made fresh in house daily and there are a ton of flavors to choose from. Nice, fluffy plain glazed, to Psycho Donuts type flavors with cereal on top. Their cronut far exceeded my expectations. I haven't had anything close to the original in New York and that's ok. I just want it to be good damn it! And most Cronuts are not. Around noon time I dropped by here to get Bahn Mhi sandwiches. One Tofu and Two BBQ Pork plus one Vietnamese Ice coffee. Today the sandwiches did not have flavor. It is as if nothing was seasoned. Get a french roll, put mayo on it, add slices of shredded carrots and daikon strips. Slice some cooked pork and put it in. A slice of cucumber. Perhaps a wee bit of jalapeno and there you have it. The pork had no taste, it was cold and dry like refrigerated pork. The carrots and daikon were not pickled in sweet/tart vinegar at all. In no way is there a $12.00 value in this item. And I bought two of them. The tofu sandwich had the same result. Not a $9.00 value at all. Cannot just put slices of meat with unseasoned carrots,Daikon and expect satisfied customer base. I've had both the donuts and banh mis here and this is my go to place when I want something decent and close to my house. They have a much broader array of donuts here than the Chuck's in Belmont with offerings like cronuts, mochi donuts, and ube and matcha flavored donuts. I'm not going to say these are the best donuts I've ever had but I will say they make a solid donut that I would definitely buy again. What really brings me here on a regular basis is their banh mis. They make a decent enough banh mi to where I don't feel the need to drive into San Mateo or San Jose to get my banh mi fix. On top of that you can pair it with a boba tea drink. We love Banh Mi but our spot is in SF and it's impossible to park so it take two people to want to go from San Mateo and honestly it can be a hassle - so I saw this place within a few miles from home and decided immediately that I needed to try it. Ordered the fancy pork (bbq pork egg pate) and the combo (ham pork pate) we were so pleasantly surprised with the flavor and the quality of the bread crunchy flavorful a good amount of all item n the sandwich - it was only lacking in jalapeños - fortunately I always have them at home so we sliced some up and added them to the sandwich - the bbq pork and which was room temp by the time I got it home (I think they made the eggs fresh) and the combo was cold becasue the ingredients are cold - no problem - wait a little to eat (no!) or pop it in the microwave for like 6 seconds so bread is still crunchy yum yum yum will come here again - more convenient than sf for us in San Mateo! In the Belmont area there aren't many little shops like this. Customer service was good, the main worker was attentive and friendly, just the 2nd lady at the cash register I think doesn't speak English well or doesn't really feel comfortable being in a service position - so that was a bit awkward because she lacked the communication skills. Please be patient with her. The place is clean and cute and everything looked fresh. They also make the sandwiches and burgers fresh to order. I ordered the big boy burger for my bf and it was pretty big. For $10 it met the expectations. He said he would get it again.
