Inside donut options (also a few seats not pictured)

Nice convenient location (esp if you're heading towards Seal Point exiting 101), yummy donuts (they also have croissant sandwiches, coffee, etc.) and most importantly great, friendly service. We made a stop here to grab coffee, but I got suckered into getting a 12 pack of donut holes and a chocolate old fashioned. This was near the end of the day / closing time, but the donuts were still delicious. The guy (owner?) also brewed a fresh pot of coffee - well worth the 2-3 min wait. There were also a couple of tables and folks set up there watching the large screen tv. Many people made stops inside that seemed like regulars, the one man here moved quickly and was friendly to everyone. Would definitely come back!

The best donuts in this region of the Bay Area. Most everything is incredible but what stood out to me was the GLAZE TWIST. Now, trust me, I'm not a glaze person usually; I always thought it was kind of a boring way to approach donuts and it appears I've been wrong for a long LONG time. I just haven't had the pleasure of consuming one on this level yet. Crisp outside with a soft and fluffy inside, you can't go wrong getting anything here but the glaze twists will make your day better. Just be aware, they tend to run out of them after 12pm. I went back 3 times during my week stay in San Mateo JUST for the glaze twists here. Get it, you won't be disappointed.

$12 for the Mega Sando (sausage, bacon, ham, egg, cheese & Jalapeno). 1 lb. Yes, it weighed a pound and was easily over 1000 calories. If you are about quantity over quality, stop here. The ingredients are decent, but the value is all there. Order at the counter, wait for the item. Sit there in 1 of a few tables or take it to go. If you get there between 7 and 9, the small parking lot may be packed. There's a heavy stream of work truck coming and going.

Delicious donuts almost gone! Buttermilk glazed was so moist and yummy! The fritter was was really good.

We door dashed donuts and I didn't have high expectations. This place was awesome! The Buttermilk glazed was so good! Moist and delicious! The fritter was great and I was generally not expecting how good this place was going to be! Every donut we had was perfect! Will definitely be ordering from them again!

I came here to order several dozens of donuts for an event. The store doesn't look like much on the outside, but it's pretty busy on the inside. I generally don't like old-fashioned donuts. I like the bourgeois new-age flavored donuts (please don't throw tomatoes at me), but got an assortment of old-fashioned donuts here. I think the blueberry donut is my favorite; it's crispy on the outside and cakey on the side, with full blueberry flavor. Parking is the only thing I don't like about the location (1 star off), so anticipate waiting a little bit until someone leaves his or her spot. The staff is efficient, allowing the parking turnover to be tolerable for bourgeois-donut-loving people.

My favorite donut/pastry spot hands down. Service is great and the pastries even better. I highly recommend!

We decided to get a lemon mochi donut, a blood orange mochi donut, a classic chocolate, and a chocolate "cruellar" donut. All the donuts tasted freshly made, had a soft dense interior, and were very delicious. The chocolate ones in particular paired very well with a cup of coffee the next morning. The strawberry shortcake donut was delicious. The strawberries were a little too tart but the glazed donut was delicious. Mochi donuts were ok but I probably wouldn't get again. Tried a chocolate donut log with egg custard. Do not recommend the custard filling. It isn't done lengthwise and wasn't tasty. Donut itself was soft and fluffy. Overall, I'll come back for a sweet treat. I think service at this one was better than the other cause just less customers.

Both burritos were satisfying and definitely worth trying. The restaurant has an open layout with plenty of parking, making it easy to stop by. It's located next to a car mechanic shop, and I liked that they had old-school Pokémon playing on the TV--it added a fun nostalgic vibe while I was eating. Customer service was acceptable, but nothing really stood out. It's more of a self-service experience, so if you want water or anything else, you'll need to get up and grab it yourself. It would've been nice if someone checked in once or twice. One thing that did confuse me happened on a different visit. I arrived around 1:50 p.m. hoping to order food to go, but the gentleman locked the door and told me they were no longer taking orders. If you close at 2 i dont see how you were closed already. It was a little odd since there were still plenty of customers inside eating. I understand kitchens have closing times, but it would've been helpful if the hours or last call for food were clearer. Overall, it's a solid spot for a good breakfast burrito with a laid-back atmosphere. Despite that one experience, I'd still come back and recommend giving it a try.

I came here the other early morning to buy coffee and donuts…read more The first red flag was that as I was sitting, parked in front, I took a bite of the plain old fashioned and discovered that it was stale. I went back inside and was immediately given a fresh old fashioned. The glazed cruller was ok, but it had an artificial (custard) flavor that I found a little off-putting. I had purchased two "chocolate" cruller. The glaze on this donut was NOT chocolate. The glaze tasted absolutely artificial, overly sweet and probably a health hazard. I ate just the underside of one of these donuts and threw the rest away. Sadly, the workers had not bothered to change the frying oil in a long time, so even the fresh old fashioned donut from this place, which was relatively inoffensive, suffered from an ever-so-slightly rancid flavor. The coffee was solid and they offered a lot of different options for it, such as milk and cream as well as the usual nasty French vanilla "creamer," which is the only reason that Chucks gets a second star. This business owner should radically restructure their business model to include quality over cost-cutting, because they would do better to use clean (and not soybean) oil, real ingredients without artificial flavorings, and authentic chocolate instead of whatever unpalatable garbage I experienced. They offer all kinds of superfluous menu items and they should really consider making better donuts. If I hadn't exchanged the first donut, I would have wasted money on 3 out of the 4 donuts. It is telling that rather than selling out, this business had inventory left from the day before, and they tried to sell it to me. Stan's donuts in Santa Clara often has to close early because they sell out hours before their 3PM closing time, and they don't do this disgusting quality compromise.

I'm an al pastor burrito guy and this one was way too heavy on the spice/seasoning and kinda overpowered everything. Also there was barely any trace of tater tots which I was really looking forward to. My daughters ate the asada and said it was just ok. One thing is that the burritos are smaller than your super at El Farolito but they do pack it in there and it's pretty filling! The birria was actually pretty good and they gave a couple different sauces and cabbage and I would recommend it. I was also looking forward to eating the churro donuts on the drive back home because I thought they would be hot n good but that wasn't the case. They musta pulled them out from under a warming lamp because they were barely lukewarm to cold so that was a fail. Overall, it's not bad, but definitely pricier than most of the other popular Mex spots and now that I think about it, I probably won't go back because of it. There's plenty good Mex around for a lot less $$. I coulda gotten 3 super burritos from Farolito for $35 vs ~$75 that I paid at Suavecito.
