I came here the other early morning to buy coffee and donuts. The first red flag was that as I was sitting, parked in front, I took a bite of the plain old fashioned and discovered that it was stale. I went back inside and was immediately given a fresh old fashioned. The glazed cruller was ok, but it had an artificial (custard) flavor that I found a little off-putting. I had purchased two "chocolate" cruller. The glaze on this donut was NOT chocolate. The glaze tasted absolutely artificial, overly sweet and probably a health hazard. I ate just the underside of one of these donuts and threw the rest away. Sadly, the workers had not bothered to change the frying oil in a long time, so even the fresh old fashioned donut from this place, which was relatively inoffensive, suffered from an ever-so-slightly rancid flavor. The coffee was solid and they offered a lot of different options for it, such as milk and cream as well as the usual nasty French vanilla "creamer," which is the only reason that Chucks gets a second star. This business owner should radically restructure their business model to include quality over cost-cutting, because they would do better to use clean (and not soybean) oil, real ingredients without artificial flavorings, and authentic chocolate instead of whatever unpalatable garbage I experienced. They offer all kinds of superfluous menu items and they should really consider making better donuts. If I hadn't exchanged the first donut, I would have wasted money on 3 out of the 4 donuts. It is telling that rather than selling out, this business had inventory left from the day before, and they tried to sell it to me. Stan's donuts in Santa Clara often has to close early because they sell out hours before their 3PM closing time, and they don't do this disgusting quality compromise. read more

I wanted to try Chuck's Donuts via Too Good to Go so I went here and got a bag. They gave us a lot of donuts so I thought it was good value. If you eat like 2-3 donuts you will get your money's worth. I think the donuts tasted fine but every donut I tried was incredibly dense and cakey. My personal preference is more airy donuts but if you like cakey donuts this place seems pretty decent. They are definitely on the sweeter side though. read more

Chucks is my go to donut shop when grabbing a dozen to share with my department, and the never disappoint. They have fast friendly service and even when there is a line of a few people, they get everyone in and out efficiently. The donuts are always fresh and even though I don't get there until close to 9 am, they still have plenty of donuts. I don't know what magic they sprinkle on them, but they are hands down the best around. Light and fluffy and overall deliciousness. Came here for an order pick up and staff was a bit rude and not as friendly or helpful. I have tried the over the top unique flavors from the san carlos location from one of my friends. They have a great selection of flavors to choose from such as ube, hot cocoa, matcha, pistachio, strawberry, + many more! but that just provide to show what type of flavors and selection you can chose from! This location however, I did not see any of those great tasting flavors. They only have the regular standard flavors and kinds. I don't know for certain if I will come back to this location. but prolly will see me visit the other locations to pick u some more great doughnuts. The original glazed donuts are incredible! Large, fluffy, soft, tasty. Always fresh. Best I have had, period. The fillings and glaze are pretty traditional and imo could be improved. Ie. a dark chocolate glaze and real jam (not the artificially colored, flavored, and thickened sort). The various other sorts of doughnuts are good. Do not come at night. We've been coming here since the summer - my daughter and I would get a donut in the morning and we'd be on our way. The other day we came by at night and the owner must have been having a bad day as he was way aggressive for no real reason. He put in a ton of glazed donuts and when we told him we only asked for two he just started to flip his lid and started saying he can refuse anyone he wants and then said we weren't regulars so it doesn't matter. Although my girlfriend and I have been coming here for a few years now and have always enjoyed their donuts during that time, recently they've been doing a really bad job at making sure their donuts are fully cooked. We've gotten sick twice and have noticed the remaining donuts that weren't eaten not cooked properly. They have a good selection of donuts. We decided to get a dozen donuts for a Father's Day Brunch and got the Chocolate, Raspberry, Maple, Cinnamon, Coconut, Custard filled and glazed assortment. The donuts were good, without being anything special. They were not really moist and were definately sweeter than we expected. We also got their house made Coffee which in my honest opinion was ok. One of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. The owner was shockingly rude, arrogant, and completely unprofessional -- acting like he couldn't care less about customers. I simply asked if they had plates, and instead of answering, he just gave a lazy, dismissive nod. My friend, who was focused on paying, didn't hear him properly and asked again. The owner repeated the same disrespectful gesture without saying a single word. When I called him out for his attitude and said this is not how you treat customers, he suddenly snapped and shouted "get the f* out of here."** It was absolutely disgusting and beyond unprofessional. My friend pulled me away before the situation escalated further -- otherwise, I would have demanded real accountability for that behavior. We left immediately without even touching the donuts. They had plenty of donuts when i went recently around 2 in the afternoon. Good variety and the place seemed clean. Like others the customers service was less than but if you like a local place without any chit chat than no issues there. For 4 donuts (no fillings) with tax it was about $10.
