With a last minute family trip, SD consignment was very responsive in providing a RV suitable for my family and I. Was provided unit pictures, documentation and confirmation all renters should expect to protect themselves, their trip, as well as the RV owner. Though our drive into town took longer than expected, they were flexible with the unit clean and ready to go upon pickup. Walked through all the RV operations, any already documented dings, dents, scratches to include documenting it myself and answered any questions I had before heading to our camp site. Nice they phoned to check on us during our stay and provided recommendations around town to compliment our itinerary. Rented July 11, 2025, First off the company catfishes you with newer looking RV (Picture) than they deliver a beat up one. Upon pick up of the RV at a remote sight, SD Consign (Manny) delivered dirty (probably just received from someone else's use). They go over how to use equipment, but certain things don't work and RV looks run down. SD Consign (Manny) said sorry but they do not realize how unprofessional they are, we took the RV because too late to back out of planned trip. My Family cleaned up the dirty RV(2hrs), and found out the locking latches for the exterior compartments DO NOT EVEN LOCK! This was all before we went on trip. During trip the RV road rough like it was out of alignment and halfway through the trip the check engine light came on. Called SD Consign they said they already knew about issue and will resolve when they need too. Also the RV smelled as if the toilet has not been serviced in a while or improperly cleaning. The return trip was not better, upon the returning of the RV on July 19, 2025, SD Consign (Manny) took pictures and did a walk through the RV, said everything looked good and we returned it cleaner than received it from SD Consign. We explained concerns with the issues with RV, but SD Consign just made it seem as if oh well. We asked when we were getting our deposit back and SD Consign (Manny) said the next day July 20,2025. 24 hrs later SD Consign texts us and states that we caused damage to the upper portion of the RV, and refuse to give deposit back! DO NOT CONSIGN YOUR RV WITH THIS COMPANY! My RV Storage "Toy Storage" in Chula Vista, allowed the Owner Emmanuel Acosta to place flyers on the RV's stored there. I received one and called Emmanuel for information on his program. He said if I consigned my vehicle with him I would make enough to cover my Loan payment and storage fee. Sounded too good to be true but I did it anyway, very bad idea! Over the time that Emmanuel had my RV, I did not receive a single cent from him and when he returned it to me, the engine was blown, there was white powder all over the inside of it due to the fire extinguisher having been discharged, the wood on the counters was damaged, my generator was missing, there was heavy water damage to the overhead bed, there was body damage to the outside!!! Emmanuel did nothing to compensate or repair any of the damages. To add insult to injury, when I went to register the RV, I was told there were outstanding tickets and fines that had to be paid first, this included multiple Toll Road fines, overnight parking fines etc. I was furious to say the least! I can't believe this company is still in business! I intended to sue them for the damage and cost to repair the RV, however this happened during COVID when everything was in lockdown. Emmanuel needs to grow a conscience, take responsibility for the RV Owners he has screwed over and make things right with them. If the statute of limitations does not preclude my filing a suit, I still plan on taking legal action against Emmanuel and his Company! read more

First time we rented was a good experience since we had a drop off and pick up and that was convenient. Upon returning we mistakenly over filled the gas tank by more than $50. So we got a credit for 50 off plus 10% off on the next rental. Uping returning we were asked to leave a Yelp review, which we gladly did. We found bad reviews as a surprise as they did not match our experience. However Uping trying to rent the second time, there was a lack of response and the RV we tried to get, although we had a verbal agreement was no longer available the next day. So we tried to go with whatever was available which was the smallest RV and the same we had the last time. I called and we connected over the phone and Manuel was apologetic as to the workload he had. We confirmed we wanted to rent the same one and to please send the invoice. The invoice came in and the discount was not included. At that point it seemed like pulling teeth and wife was very annoyed. So she went ahead and rented something else from another party. This is to confirm, the reviews on the profile about lack of communication, lack of response and poor commitment are correct. I am too a business owner and I understand how hard it is to manage and wear different hats. In also understand how bad reviews affect a business and its the last thing I want to do. However this experience now falls into the unacceptable category hence took the time to write this well deserved review. read more

My family and I reserved an RV through RV Share for a week-long trip up the coast. We received confirmation that our reservation was accepted, we planned RV parks accordingly for our trip, and prepared time out of our respective careers. We were told that there was a strict cancellation policy which meant that if we cancelled for any reason we would be responsible to pay a penalty. Over a week later I received an email from Emmanuel Acosta saying that the reservation was cancelled. I asked repeatedly for a reason that the reservation (which we had already paid for) was cancelled, and I kept getting answers which never addressed the question such as "the owner changed his mind and wants to use the RV for personal use instead of renting it to you". "You have plenty of time to find another RV to rent..." I don't understand how I would have been charged a fee if I canceled without reason, yet San Diego Consign could cancel with no penalty after causing my family pretty major inconvenience. The last time I asked the question, Emmanuel's answer was "I think you should ask RV Share that question". Make sure you do not do business with Emmanuel, there are other resources to find RV rentals which have actual customer service. read more

We took it to small claims and won and he didn't even show up...and hasn't paid what the court agreed to. He tried to put the blame on us which didn't make sense because he was in charge of our vehicle. We gave it to him in great condition minus the small list of minor things he said he would fix, and charge us for. ​he rented it one time in about 3 months and the people trashed it. And he never gave us the rental money. And left it dirty with mold in the fridge for a month. He was hard to get a hold of. Alway had an excuse. Sorry at Disneyland with my kids, he was camping, and last was a sick family member. Probably lies. We did nothing to be treated like this. We even had rented from him before we bought our own RV. We just got back from Carlsbad state beach and rented the Thor Chateau 22b. We are a family of 4. This was the smallest RV we've rented so far, but we thought it was amazing and super well equipped, we just want something a little bigger for more space for our kids. The owner was very accommodating, easy going and helped us out tremendously with the pick up and drop off that made all the difference. I would give 5 stars on the customer service, which to a mama with 2 little ones is everything! We have found our new RV guy and plan on buying our own RV and letting him rent our RV for us. our experience couldn't have been better, and we will be renting from him again in 2 weeks and also will use him for all our camping needs in the future! Update: We decided to rent from San Diego Consign again, this experience was nothing like the first. Buyer Beware. Protect yourself. Our first rental was for 1 night and we weren't asked for a deposit. We returned the Trailer immaculately cleaned even though we paid a cleaning fee... no issues. This time around, we rented for 2 nights. Upon arrival my husband was sprung with a 3 day charge and a $500 deposit that was to be paid via Venmo. We discussed re-adjusting the invoice to only 2 days as agreed upon earlier and were told it wouldn't be a problem. Manny (Emanuel Acosta) explained that the deposit would only be held back if major damages were caused to the trailer. He told us to not worry about cleaning the trailer either, that it's all covered in the $125 cleaning fee. The day for trailer pick up came and it looked like it was in the same condition the previous renters left it in. They quickly "cleaned" it and we we were off. We kept the trailer for the time allotted and brought it back on time (returned on a Monday). His business partner was there to receive it and inspected the trailer condition. He went on the roof to take pictures and were told to wait for manny to review damages found. After he arrived we walked the trailer see the damages and were told there were scratches on the roof. We went up there with him and after seeing it with our own eyes, disputed the damages (they were scuffs, not scratches) After a lengthy conversation, he agreed they were unwarranted and for us to look for an updated invoice and we will also receive our full deposit back. In good faith, my husband left and this is where Manny disappeared and became more unresponsive than he usually is. After many unanswered calls and texts later, he finally responded with pictures of window screens that weren't attached as well as a rubber trim on the bathroom shower that was removed. He claims he needed to again discuss with his business partner if our deposit would be kept for this AND the roof damages! My husband left work to go in person, luckily found him (Wednesday) and walked the "damages" again. Again Manny agreed to refund everything but was too busy to do so since my husband came by abruptly while he was in the middle of something. Again, promised the updated invoice and refund within the hour. Late Thursday night, all we received was the refund for the extra day that was over charged. I texted back and asked about the deposit and Nothing. More unanswered calls and texts, he finally responded on Friday to tell us they would keep the entire $500 deposit. Very frustrating few days. My husband returned in person again to dispute the charges with him and his associate. They did not want to budge, their claim was that they had to pay someone to fix the damages caused. Get this, it took my husband re-installing the screens and trim and climbing up on the roof and visibly showing them that the scuffs come off by hand for them to agree to full refund. This should all be taken care of with the cleaning fee in my opinion, nothing was damaged! Their entire demeanor changed after that, husband was told we wouldn't be rented to again and that keeping the deposit was to do US a favor and not file a claim through our insurance. He was also told By Manny that he will file a claim anyway and come after us Legally if all the scuffs don't come off the roof. Not happy that I have to do this but I do not wish this experience for anyone else. See pictures for proof. Do not pay with Venmo! They used to use Stripe in the past and you are able to dispute charges on that (not Venmo). They conveniently changed that process. Make them give you the "contract" up front if you decide to do business. I have not received my contract to date that he claimed was on its way several times. He made us sign and said he would be emailing it. It never made it. I called several RV rentals and they do not ask for your insurance jacket up front. They'll even sell you in house insurance! I realized when these people asked for this up front they were going to try report it to our insurance. I have notified our insurance and have provided pictures of the so called damage. Seems that these guys look to file false claims to stay afloat. Consider you deposit good as gone if you Venmo it to them. There are other reviewers that have had negative experiences. We had plenty of business to do with them in the future, due to my mothers disability and a need for bathroom/shower when traveling. it's unfortunate because we try to help small businesses. I honestly believe that Emanuel Acosta has NO intention of renting you his RV at all, as he canceled the listing on another renter from Yelp without notice. It seems like Emanuel is banking on the chance that you will rent his RV and cancel the trip due to Covid-19 state-mandated travel restrictions. He will then keep however much you paid for the deposit without any refund at all. If you do however decide to continue with the trip, HE HIMSELF will cancel it on his end so you can't even use it at all. He will probably then go on to relist the RV and repeat the cycle so that he can continue to bait and scam another renter. Emanuel and his company San Diego Consign are NOT to be trusted with your money. Judging from my own personal experience with him through Outdoorsy and the reviews others have left for him on this Yelp page, Emanuel WILL take advantage of the pandemic, state mandates, and Outdoorsy policy to TAKE your money from you without fulfilling a single service to you. Your credit card company WILL NOT protect you from Emanuel wrongfully and immorally charging you $700. You WILL lose hundreds of dollars by coming to any card agreement with San Diego Consign from now until the pandemic is over. You have been warned! My boyfriend contacted Emanuel through Outdoorsy on 2/27 requesting that we rent his RV for EDC (a music festival) in Las Vegas, which was to occur on 5/15. We paid a $700 deposit fee and booked the RV. We understand that there is a strict no cancellation policy for his RV, but we had NO intention of canceling our trip. However, EDC was canceled in April due to Covid-19 at no fault to us at all. Not only that, the entire state of Nevada was in their first stage of the Covid-19 shutdown, which meant that all non-essential travel was banned and all state RV parks were closed. In other words, it would be illegal and impossible for us to continue our trip to Nevada. With a month's notice and no clear end in sight as to when the state would continue to their second stage of reopening, we canceled the RV on 4/11 and requested a full refund on our deposit. Sadly, Emanuel doesn't care that a pandemic is happening and refused to refund our deposit. I disputed this charge with my Chase Sapphire card and even redisputed their conclusion, and not even they can protect you from Emanuel's greed during this sensitive time period. You WILL lose $700, or whatever your deposit came out to be. Outdoorsy's website itself says that "in rare cases, you may be eligible for a full refund if you had to cancel because of extenuating circumstances." Well, if a pandemic isn't an extenuating circumstance, then I don't know what is! It would illegal and immoral for us to travel across state lines during the peak of the pandemic with 7 people all of different households. Not only that, but we wouldn't be able to park, refill fresh water, or dump dirty water anywhere as all Nevada state parks and nonessential businesses were closed. It would LITERALLY be impossible to complete an RV trip in Nevada at the time. Any sane and reasonable person would agree that a refund due to "extenuating circumstances" is due during this time period. Even Airbnb refunded ALL trips during the pandemic. There is not a single reasonable excuse as to why Emanuel should keep our $700 deposit. We gave him a month's notice to relist his RV as well. We should not be charged for any pre-fuelling or precleaning, either, as those are all responsibilities of the previous renter. As stated on the Outdoorsy website, the previous renter is in charge of "[returning] the rig with the fuel level the same as when you started." Emanuel's listings also include a cleaning fee, which "covers basic cleaning after your use," i.e the previous renter will pay for the cleaning of their own mess. We did not accrue any charges for Emanuel by renting and canceling his RV, so we do not owe him any money. He is taking advantage of pandemic travel restrictions and Outdoorsy policies. He is hoping that you cancel your RV so that he can reap your deposit without you setting a single step into his RV. Do not rent with San Diego Consign. You will lose your money without ever laying eyes on the RV! read more

The trailer itself was beautiful, but dealing with Emanuel was the worst experience I've had with RVshare. I rented the RV 3 months before my trip. I also paid for delivery and pick up as it was an option for an additional $200. Everything was paid in full when I get a call 2 days before my trip, Emanuel informed me that he wasn't aware he was delivering the RV and that he charges $150 each way. He also said that he forgot to list a "cleaning fee" of $125. He wanted me to pay the difference outside of RVshare. I felt hesitant to pay it and I contacted RVshare, they encouraged me to speak to the owner directly to solve the problem and said they couldn't do anything at that time. I called Emanuel and didn't get an answer for 5 hours until he texted me back saying that the RV will be delivered no problem. The day of the delivery he texted again requesting the $125 cleaning fee +$20.00 for the propane that he filled the RV with prior to having it delivered. At this point, I gave up and decided to pay it because I felt that if I didn't that he would keep some of my $1000 deposit. This is the worst experience I've ever had. I felt cheated and helpless to do anything about it. I will NEVER rent from this guy again. He's a con artist, I don't doubt he's done this to other people before. My family & I chose to rent an RV with San Diego Consign and we were happy throughout our trip. Emanuel has a strict non refundable policy listed on his unit which we kept in mind prior to booking. After comparing prices and such, we decided to move forward with San Diego Consign. During pick up, the process was very informative, he walked us through the RV and showed us what we needed to know as first time renters. The process took about 40 minutes or so. We filled out paperwork & we were on our way. We had a few questions during our adventure but Emanuel was very responsive via text & phone call, which was a relief for us first time renters. When we brought the RV back, we did a walk through and finished up! He was actually pretty accommodating being that we returned the RV "after hours" but he had no problem and didn't charge us extra- we were stuck in traffic and got delayed a bit so that was nice of him to be so understanding. Seeing the past reviews, my suggestion and advice to renters is to not be worried by those previous posts and cover your own butts for every trip you take. Read all agreements you sign up for and purchase the extra insurance, IT IS WORTH IT! We decided to cover our ends and buy trip insurance in case we needed to cancel our trip..this separate insurance would have reimbursed us in the event we needed to cancel for whatever reason. Just pointing out, If a policy clearly states there are no refunds once we book, I wouldn't risk taking that chance and blaming the company or RV owner for it...so we bought that extra insurance just in case. In a nutshell, we enjoyed our family trip and now have lasting memories. We will definitely consider San Diego Consign in the future. Hope this helps! read more
