We have had multiple construction projects completed on our house and yard over the years, and this was BY FAR the best experience we have ever had. From the initial consult to the final walk through, the communication, timeliness, and quality of work were stellar. Tim, Lisa, Jose and the entire crew were amazing. We were looking to save some money with refacing our kitchen. San Diego Kitchen Pros stayed within our budget and finished in the time frame they promised. We never wondered if workers were coming and I now have a beautiful updated kitchen. I love my pull out drawers and the larger island! They added to our existing island and you wouldn't even know plus they added a coffee bar with storage which is wonderful. There were some minor issues and they were mostly addressed. They did a refacing for me in 2008. I just had them do cabinets, countertop and backsplash. Every worker was masked, clean, on time and very professional. The experience was effortless. Mark took me to slab stores and helped me pick out the one I bought. He was very helpful in guiding me into the right cabinets for me. They were available and helpful from start to finish. The quality was excellent and they were less expensive than Lowe's (with whom my neighbor had a miserable experience). I cannot stress enough what a fabulous company they are. First of all I would highly recommend this company San Diego Kitchen Pros and their countertop affiliate, JPR Stone Surfaces. Why? I hired them to resurface my kitchen cabinets and replace my kitchen countertop and the result is fantastic. I chose resurfacing as opposed to replacing my wood cabinets because the resurfacing product, Thermafoil, is impervious to the sun damage that had occurred on my west facing old cabinets and is also very water resistant around the sink area. I interviewed 3 different companies and San Diego Kitchen Pros clearly stood out as the best for many reasons. Mark, the owner, personally came to my house to present their products and services. He has been the owner of this company for several decades and did an excellent job of presenting without any undue pressure. He was also very helpful in advising how to successfully protect the house carpets from the foot traffic that was going to occur in the process. Upon visiting the showroom in San Marcos I then decided what I wanted as far as color, product, etc. They said they were able to start the project within about 4 weeks of my decision. Other companies were quoting 6 months or more, and were more expensive. Ron, a seasoned veteran in business, then came to do the initial measurements within about a week of my decision to go ahead with the project and was very helpful and knowledgable. Les, the foreman, was excellent, punctual, skilled, respectful in every way and made the project go smoothly, starting exactly on the day that was scheduled for the project to begin. His young apprentice, Taylor, did a fine job on all his appointed duties and details and was also very kind and respectful. Darci is the the point person when calling in and she is excellent in every way. The countertop team, headed up by Juan, the owner of JPR Stone Surfaces, did a fantastic job of fitting and installing the quartz countertop. All around excellent customer service and craftsmanship here from ths entire team. Highly recommended. read more

We just had our existing kitchen cabinets refaced, new countertops installed, and three new sets of cabinets designed, built and installed, all by SD Kitchen Pros. They met their projected timeline and the work crew was great. We even had a wiring issue (not of their fault) that they spent extra time to trace and repair for us. We've had other friends remodel their kitchens recently with other vendors and it took forever past their deadlines. Because SD Kitchen Pros builds everything in-house with their own employees, they have full control of materials, timing, and quality. We would absolutely use them again without question. read more

It hasn't even been a year and my custom cabinet door just fell off in my hand... happening within days of my drawer face falling off. Mark talked himself up and promised great things which were not delivered (still waiting for my pop up stand mixer cabinet). The second rate painter they contracted with left my cabinets a spotty, drippy mess. He had to come back 5 times and still couldn't get my hood correct and I had to refuse him entry to my home in order for them to pay my painter to correct their painters most obvious mistakes. I keep thinking with time my anger will pass but every day I look at my Wolf cooktop and see the scratches, cuts, and unfixable marks I realize these guys are not kitchen pros at all. They kept telling me the paint on the cabinets has drips and imperfections because I chose a paint over a stain yet that was never mentioned to me in the (super rushed) selection process. My cabinets do not align properly, the drawers and doors are falling off, there is a gap around my cooktop...all unacceptable. I had to go absolutely crazy for them to even understand how displeased I was with their job. They book so many jobs back to back that they don't have time for complaints, weather delays, or a customer pointing out flaws. Buyer beware, they are not a high end remodeling firm but instead a turn and burn shop. Update: today I noticed a chunk of the cabinet facing on cabinets they made in their shop has chipped off. Don't use these In response to you Mark: The only new pics are the two where the cabinet door fell off and the chunk of veneer came off the cabinet. The other pictures are dated and have been provided to you and Ron with many more additional images. They were also taken before I brought my painter in to try and make the paint job livable and I would be happy to provide dated evidence of that. They say first impressions are everything. We were to have our first in-depth interaction with San Diego Kitchen Pros on February 20th at 9:30am when a sales consultant was to arrive at our home and discuss options and details for our long-awaited and greatly anticipated kitchen remodel. After waiting the morning, the appointment time came and went without the arrival of the consultant. We even waited additional time with hope of a phone call updating us on the situation. With no word by 10:20am, our first impression of the company was born. It has been our experience over six years of renovating our home and dealing with many contractors that an initial display of this type of character trait often warns of a bumpy road ahead. These experiences have also made us far less tolerant of this type of exhibition. In fairness it should be stated that the consultant did finally call, but only after being prompted by a text message from us. He stated he could arrive in about 20 minutes. During this additional wait time, we decided to heed this red flag and upon his arrival at 10:45am, advised him that we were no longer interested in considering the company for the project. He was also advised as to the basis for our decision. A word of advice - The level of respect and courtesy afforded a potential new customer will speak volumes about a company, even more so during the very first stages of trying to entice a homeowner's business. It might also be motivating to keep top of mind that there are countless other companies in your field also looking for new business and a payday...and who would find it wise to extend the courtesy of reaching out when unable to be prompt for that all important, impression making first interface. read more

We chose San Diego Kitchen Pros for our multiple bathroom, linen closet, laundry room cabinet refacing as well as a new countertop in the laundry room. In short, they did a fantastic job. It looks great. We wanted the job done before the end of March and they were able to deliver as promised. We initially met with Tim, one of the owners. He was very pleasant, knowledgeable, professional and he clearly explained how the project would proceed....and it did...no surprises. He also saved us money by suggesting we go with a remnant for the laundry room countertop. He arranged for us to meet with the provider. Other vendors we met with, left us on our own to contact the countertop provider and also schedule an installation. This was integrated within the project. Tim is very customer satisfaction focused. Darci is the office manager and was also a pleasure to work with, thorough and professional. Ron, came out to our house to do the measurements, which were spot on. Juan and his crew handled the countertop install flawlessly. James and Fred did a great job with the demo and cabinet reface installation. They are experienced craftsmen and precise. James also installed the new sink and faucet. Both Tim and Darci followed up with us after the job completion. Based on our direct experience with SDKP, I can see why they have been in business for over 30 years. I would not hesitate to use them again as well as strongly recommend them. read more

San Diego Kitchen Pro's refaced our kitchen and master bath cabinets and drawers and replaced the master bath's counter tops. Due to their attention to detail the results were amazing. They remounted one cabinet, while I never noticed, it was not level. They laminated the cabinet facers and sides, then primed and painted to match the new doors and drawers. Now San Diego Kitchen Pro's was not the cheapest or fastest bid. That company was to be done on three days (San Diego Kitchen Pro's spent that just prepping the kitchen before painting) That company also stated a 90% chance of breaking the master bath's mirrors, since stated it would be up to us to replace. With San Diego Kitchen Pro's almost no chance of damage and if there was they would make it right. Their pull outs for cabinets are great too. We are so glad we went with San Diego Kitchen PROFESSIONALS (that should be their name). read more

At the initial appointment to bid the project, Mark, the owner, was pleasant and a "can do' guy. Quite the salesman. It one downhill from there. I noticed that since the 1st appointment, his attitude changed. I believe it was because he didn't care to be questioned about certain things and would get defensive. Early on I asked him if he constructed the cabinet boxes using plywood (since I've heard that is preferred), and he said "NO, they use MDF and always have, and no one has complained". He offered me my $1000 deposit back if I wanted to go somewhere else. I should have paid attention and moved on because that "attitude" continued. I also asked him where the $500 coupon that was offered on the flyer was being applied-and he said "it's in the price he quoted me". No way to know if it was applied or not. I ended up signing a contract, designing the space with his partner Ron (who was wonderful), and was at the final meeting in the showroom with Mark, which is when he changed his tune about pricing too. He initially told me that almost all of the cabinet styles were included in the contract price. At the final meeting, when I was choosing the styles, he said " pretty much everything was an upcharge". The final straw was when I asked him if he offered a list of items that needed to be ordered, (sinks, garbage disposal, ducting for stove venting, etc) for the kitchen and master bathroom so that I didn't "hold up the job" by not having the necessary items ready to go. His reply was shocking!!! He said " No, most homeowners know what they need, you've have had plenty of time to think about it". Wow! Really? I was taken back but calmly replied: "I do not want to start out the remodel like this, that was not very nice Mark". He got angry and proceeded to tell me" to go elsewhere, that he did not want to do my job". Really? Because I had the nerve to ask questions along the way. There were also other responses by Mark to prior questions I asked that were also a bit rude and condescending, but I did my best to ignore them. My mistake. He even texted me after cancelling our contract but before I even left the parking lot: "Good bye and good luck". Not very professional if you ask me. If you are someone who doesn't care about details and don't ask questions, you may be ok working with this company. I, on the other hand, am blessed that I do not have to go through the process with someone like that. read more

Fabulous! We are obsessed with our new kitchen. We discovered San Diego Kitchen Pros by walking by our neighbors house he was working on. We loved the job that was done and after talking to Mark, knew he was the one for the job. He said the kitchen would be done in 5 weeks and we didn't actually think it would be but it was! Our kitchen was completely gutted. We opened up walls, installed all new custom cabinets, flooring, granite counter tops, backsplash, ceiling and lighting and refaced our existing bathroom. Everything was pretty much on budget. We kept making changes as construction went on and they were very accommodating to all our requests.
