Bathtub was not set or caulked correctly. Within 3 months grout was cracked in tub tile and master shower pan. A number of cabinet doors were warped or had streaky paint finishes ( one was supposedly reordered). I sent Eddy numerous emails and text messages with the pictures but never received a response. Let me just say that I got lucky, I called Eddy from North Star Kitchen & Bath! To be honest, I did call several other companies, because that is what you should do. Eddy was very impressive, knowledge wise. But I picked the fast talker. Blue Sky, more expensive, and couldn't deliver. Eddy called me back, was less expensive (not cheaper, there is a difference) and delivered! Eddy designed exactly what we wanted, gave us expert advice (I know, as I have been in the business 25 years), and we had a new kitchen in three weeks! When I sold kitchens, it was always 6 weeks minimum. That's amazing! His team did, demo, repair, new custom built cabinets, custom granite countertops (Cygnus), tile backsplash, new LED can and under cabinet (we love the lighting!) lighting, and even a new crown molding. Installed appliances as well (Go Bosch). Again, three weeks! Eddy and Omar even changed part of the tile splash, because my wife didn't like what she picked. Kudos to the crew for working with us! In August, I had my Mom's bathroom remodeled with North Star Bath. I live in another city. Eddie did a great job keeping me apprised of the status of the remodel. It was basically a complete gut. We had the current shower replaced with a linen cabinet, a couple walls removed, the toilet moved and replaced, the tub converted into a large shower, new vanity, new lights, flooring, new windows and a soffit removed. He and his team did a great job staying on time and on budget. My mom loved the results. There were some later nights working (6:30 - 7:00) and my mom would have liked work to end by 5:00. Not a huge problem though. Eddie was a pleasure to work with and if I ever have any more bath or kitchen remodels, I would definitely go to him again. read more

I want to preface this review by saying that I haven't written a review in years. I only typically write a review if the service is exceptionally good or exceptionally bad. That being said, North Star would get 6 stars if YELP would allow it. We met with 3 different contractors and got pricing from all 3 on a complete gut and re-do of our master bathroom. North Star pricing was competitive and Eddy came highly recommended by my in-laws because of work he did for them. He is extremely knowledgeable and makes suggestions that are spot on. I manage construction projects for a living, so I've got very high expectations and no patience for delays, and I have to say that Eddy exceeded my expectations. His guys are very nice and the quality of work is EXCEPTIONAL! Unbelievably, his price stayed the same even after I requested a few extra things like an additional outlet, tile repairs in my guest bathroom, carpet patch in my closet, etc.. Northstar did excellent work on our master bathroom shower. They carefully masked off and covered our furniture and carpet. The workers were very pleasant, courteous, and very neat. The most important part of a shower is a water tight pan. Eddy uses a bullet-proof system, and I don't think our shower will ever leak again. Our shower seat was done in granite, and it is a work of art. We also had a 3-shelf niche installed and it looks great! So many things about their work is awesome, but... We give 4 stars since they had to come back to correct some errors...which I don't think should've even occurred in the first place (missing grout, low drain plate, shower head too high - and I was very specific as to where I wanted the shower head). They came back and fixed what they could. Unfortunately, the biggest error occurred with the drain not being centered as promised, and there's nothing that can be done aside from tearing it apart. Overall, though, we're very pleased with our new shower. read more

I recently hired Eddy, the owner of Northstar Kitchen and Bath, to completely remodel a large kitchen, and all 3 bathrooms in a house for my elderly parents. I felt the need for this job to go perfectly more than any other project I've ever done, so that my parents would have a beautiful house to move into with no effort on there part. Eddy did not disappoint. He really has a talent for understanding want your wants and needs are and making it happen. I called him "The kitchen artist" He did several things along the way that reflected his understanding of my parents unique needs and concerns. I couldn't have been happier. His workers were all very professional and easy to work with also. In fact I would like to thank Fino, Omar, Wes, Cabis and Remal also. His prices are probably somewhere in the middle, but his work is at the top. If you are just looking for the cheapest guy, you can find one cheaper than Northstar, but I don't believe you could get his quality of work for less. He is very reasonable, and he absolutely stuck to his budget and schedule. We added a couple of things as afterthoughts that raised the price a little and extended the job a little, but that was on us not Eddy. His original price and time frame were right on. I'll be calling Eddy down the road for some work on my house, and I will also be referring him to any friends or neighbors that are looking to remodel their kitchen or baths. read more

Honest, Professional, Dependable. My wife and I hired North Star Kitchen and Bath to remodel our 1987 tract home master bathroom and bedroom. We could not be more pleased with the result. The job was completed ON BUDGET AND ON TIME! I can't say enough good things about Eddy and his team. They were true professionals. They treated our home with great respect and went out of their way to make sure we were inconvenienced as little as possible. Each day they cleaned up and they sealed off the project with plastic to minimize dust throughout the rest of our house. Every day I watched the team work incredibly hard to give us the bathroom we wanted, especially Fino and Aaron. They were true professionals and craftsmen. We chose a tile that was not the easiest to work with and we asked for some custom touches that I know made their job a little more difficult. They never complained or tried to talk us out of what we wanted. They just made it happen. Eddy regularly communicated with us and came by frequently to make sure things progressed on schedule. He gave us a very fair price and the end cost was true to the original estimate, no hidden fees or surprises. The quality of the work was outstanding. We contracted North Star to renovate our dated 1980's kitchen in April of 2014. Eddy's proposal included a beautiful design including cabinets and lighting using high quality materials. His assistance and suggestions in choosing flooring and wall tiles was invaluable, and his existing relationship with local suppliers made the procurement of materials seamless. While his was not the cheapest bid, it was the best articulation of what we wanted and it was clear Eddy knew how to deliver this project. Eddy and his team handled every detail, and during the life of the project Eddy had the team re-open and make a 3 inch adjustment to a wall, because it did not meet the standard set. This change cost Eddy a full man-day of work - but he delivered to promise. North Star started and ended the project on-schedule, on-quality, and on-budget. I am in love with my new master bath and I have Eddy and his team to thank! I had a very specific design in my head and they brought it to life. Whenever a problem came up, they came to me and we worked together to find a solution. (there weren't many) Fino bends over backwards to make sure I'm happy and is always cheerful and cooperative and he can fix just about anything! Fabian worked wonders with my tile and again, the most agreeable to work with. Miguel made what could have been a plumbing nightmare turn into a dream come true. (for a minute, we thought that the tub wasn't going to fit!) And of course, Eddy was always on top of everything. Whenever I had a concern, he would call or text to let me know that he was on it and would correct anything I was worried about. He was always honest about any add ons I requested and even recommended a very economical counter top. We hired Eddy to install a new tiled shower, tub and flooring in our master bath. As very proud DIYers we were a little nervous about hiring out the work but we are SO thankful that we did. I cannot recommend Northstar highly enough. The bid was more than reasonable and they stuck exactly to the budget and timeline. Omar and his crew were excellent to work with as well. Often arriving early in the morning and working through the entire day until 6 pm if needed. The work ethic was very impressive - our neighbors even commented on how hard they worked. All the guys were extremely courteous, cleaned up at the end of the day and were great with my curious 4 year old who always wanted to help. The craftsmanship is top notch. As is expected on a job like this there were little things here and there that needed to be corrected along the way and the guys were always ready and willing to fix it. We have flipped and remodeled numerous homes over the years, and dealt with dozens of contractors; however, Eddy and his team at North Star were the absolute best! We received a quote within 24 hours of our initial meeting, and Eddy and his crew started just a few days later. Their designer, Lori Ramsay, was in constant communication with the various contractors, ensuring the project progressed smoothly and in a timely manner, in addition to providing us with daily updates. It was a pleasure to be able to take advantage of her incredible design expertise, as she helped us with style and color choices. Every contractor arrived on time each day and were extremely respectful of our home. They tarped everything and cleaned up at the end of the day ,as if they had never been here. I never thought that we would be able to install a giant towel warmer on a fully tiled wall, but they did it! We also needed to replace some tile around a very large window replaced. Our home is about 30 years old, and we had some tile we saved from the demolition of another bathroom in the house. They were able to reuse the old tile for the gap around the window replacement. You'd never know work was done, it was perfect. And not easy to clean and cut all of the (2X2) tiles. North Star was amazing. Eddie came to give the estimate and had so much more confidence than anyone else that bid. The gentlemen that came to do the work were extremely polite and professional. I was going to hire him for the job but unfortunately an emergency came up and we had to put off our remodel. I will definitely hire him for a job as soon as funds become available again. He was extremely nice and quick with emailing me the estimate and very professional unlike another company that had come out and then I never heard from them again.
