The 2 men who picked up our loved one after her passing were very kind and gentle. They really seemed to care about what they do. Mortuary staff were honest with pricing and walked us through everything, taking their time to ensure we understood. At the viewing, they did such a beautiful job. Our loved one's coloring was really natural and she looked so peaceful. I really appreciate the team for helping us through the process.

With her being out of state and her father's death being health related he was released to my custody. The only mortuary I could think off was the one in Poway that I have passed for 40 years. As a nurse helping prepare the body for transport was nothing new. This time it was an honor to stay and see our dear friend off. We told his daughter the stories we shared while waiting for another transporter to arrive. Everything was done with dignity and respect. The driver said he noted that his young daughter would want to see him so he could be prepared. His daughter arrived that night and call the mortuary. She said they told her they were very busy and had a lot of deceased coming in. She was told she could come to say her goodbyes on Monday morning. Having just lost my father recently, I to flew in and need to say good bye to my favorite person on this earth, my dad. He suffered from Parkinson's for the last five years. When I went to him he never looked better. He looked so honorable and sharp ready for god. I was so comforted by how good he looked and it was not a viewing it was just me. This young daughter would not have the same experience I had in Virginia. Malissa told her he was in his natural state. How would anyone not in the industry know what that meant. She said he had blood in his nose and blood coming from his ears. His face was smashed. I unzipped the bag to hold his hand, it was covered in blood. She was hysterical. This is the last image she has of her father. Beyond heartbreaking. I called Malissa to say WTF. Malissa she told his daughter what state he was in "natural state" said she said he was cleaned up. His daughter will never unsee what she saw. Because I supported her going to see him I feel guilty that her goodbye was nothing like mine. NOTHING. I looking up trauma therapist in her home state now. Flipping through the folder Poway Mortuary gave her with hand written notes about an open casket, flowers and merchandise. I feel sick. In Virginia this is done on a separate day. Do not send a young person there by them selves. This place or any place for that matter. No one should go alone ever. It's overwhelming enough. You grow up fast when you lose a parent but she is and always will be daddy's little girl.

Throughout the process they were genuinely empathetic and accommodating. I expected professionalism; they went beyond. Thus I was confident from the start that my loved one was going to be treated respectfully and with dignity. If you're reading this review, you're likely facing some challenges, and I feel for you. Regardless, I recommend that you take the time to review Care Center's service listings on their website. This will help you to identify your specific needs, understand the associated costs and efficiently work with them.

Honestly, we picked them from a random list of mortuaries suggested by our hospice provider. (The "Care Center" name had some appeal.) From the earliest moments of determining scope of service, we felt like we were in good hands. Megan R. was so incredibly lovely and supportive through the whole process, which was new for all of us siblings. When mom passed, the person they sent to take her from her home was courteous, respectful and warm...and ensured our comfort throughout the process (suggesting we leave the room for certain moments, etc). All paperwork was handled remotely through an online system, so it was easy to facilitate signing of documents without having to go anywhere. When it came time to discuss mom's cremation and disposition of ashes, again Megan came through with all the right suggestions. She was expedient in completing death certificate paperwork and final choices for urns. (again, all done through an online system, so we didn't have to stop other things we were dealing with to go anywhere for this part of the process) When mom's death certificates arrived, and I had the chance to visit Care Center in person, I felt like Megan was a caring friend. And when I decided I couldn't handle dealing with shipment of urns to my siblings on my own, she took over and completed that for me (that part wasn't cheap, but worth it for my peace of mind). If you're looking for a caring and dedicated team to help you through one of the hardest parts of life, look no further and call Care Center.
