The staff is thoughtful and attentive, and they actually take the time to know the residents, their routines, and their needs. That makes such a difference to our family. The administrator, Mike, is also incredibly kind and accessible 24/7. He's easy to talk to, listens, and you can tell he really cares about both the residents and their families. The facility also is always clean and well kept, and there's a warmth to the place that gives us real peace of mind. Would absolutely recommend.

My dad isn't the easiest to get along with or care for so I know that La Verne Manor has their hands full. The staff has always been kind, patient, and genuinely caring with him. You can tell they treat the residents like people, not just another job. Alan is a great caregiver. He's always on shift when we visit and he's the best. Super friendly, efficient, and genuinely caring. Every time we visit, everyone is always friendly and takes the time to say hello. The facility is always clean, doesn't have that overwhelming "nursing home" feel or stinky smell, and my dad actually enjoys the food and he's super picky, which honestly surprised us. It's a huge relief knowing he's comfortable and being looked after because we're so busy with our own lives. Mike, the manager, has also been great to work with. Any time we've had a question, he's been easy to reach, always willing to help and I trust him with the decisions he makes for my dad. Sorry we bug you so much! It's never easy trusting someone else to care for a parent, but the team at La Verne Manor has made that decision a lot easier. We're thankful for the care my dad receives every day and truly appreciate everything the team does for him. Kudos to you guys!

Their compassion, kindness, and gentle approach shines through in everything they do. When they tours families considering a move into the community, they listen with genuine care and make what can often be a difficult decision feel comforting and reassuring. Their ability to connect with people and guide them with patience and empathy is extraordinary. I also want to acknowledge LeAnne, the Executive Director of Park View Place. She is an outstanding leader--hands-on, approachable, and deeply empathetic. LeAnne oversees the community with a warmth and dedication that makes residents and families feel like they are in the very best hands. Together, they create an environment that is welcoming, supportive, and truly centered on the well-being of every resident. Park View Place Assisted Living is lucky to have such passionate and caring leaders, and any family would be fortunate to choose this wonderful community.

I had a very disappointing experience at Parkview Place Assisted Living & Memory Care in Covina…read more While on shift, I witnessed extremely unprofessional behavior from a nurse on the memory care unit. She loudly used profanity What was most concerning is that the administrator was present and did nothing to correct or address the behavior. In a healthcare setting, especially one caring for vulnerable memory care residents, professionalism, respect, and accountability are essential. Unfortunately, none of that was demonstrated. This experience raised serious concerns about staff culture, leadership, and how issues are handled internally. Based on what I witnessed, I would not recommend this facility and will not be returning.

Although there were some unpleasant moments there, I loved seeing the rest of the facility and visiting the refreshments corner of the dining room. It would have been beneficial for us to do be able to work in other areas, but I guess I should have picked a better school. If you're an employee here (one of our students is a med tech here), you're free to use the swimming pool, and meals are discounted. I think for a normal person, it's around $9. It is made to order, so it looks pretty fresh. Next to it is the bird sanctuary, and a block or two away is there woodwork shop, although I personally never saw it. They have residential and assisted living surround the cafeteria, and across from the Woods side is the memory care unit, which we did not enter. It has a peaceful vibe to it and is nice to walk around. Definitely get a tour of the place with someone, so you can see everything.

The employee that answered my call, is the same person that got such wonderful praise on yelp. So, of course I thought this should go smoothly. Instead she offered to send (message, images) via email. Still not showing, nor anything in my message center. I'm sure I did something wrong, so I'll make another call to see if she's not too busy to give me a tour. Then I'll be more willing to offer an opinion about this business.

Mom really came out of her shell and never stopped smiling and cracking jokes as they loved, pampered, and went out of their way to make sure they understood just what Mom needed when she could not communicate clearly. Lisa is very protective and makes sure that all her residents feel safe and loved, which is crucial in order for people with dementia to live their fullest life. I am forever grateful to have found the Grove at Covina, and for the joyful times Mom experienced there, including her 91st birthday, just days before she went to heaven.

While at dinner she expressed the experience she had had the two nights she was there. As my folks am I returned her to the house after dinner the owners daughter Summer raised her voice at us calling my grandmother all sorts of ungodly words such as 'evil' the daughter proceeded to raise her voice at us telling us that my grandmother was "unwanted" and that "she was not welcome here". All said in-front of her mother Lisa, who owns the business. Lisas response was just short of a shrug saying, "we're and family business". The owner was apologetic for her daughter Summers lack of professionalism. We were beyond baffled and dumbfounded by the interaction. I packed my grandmothers belongings as quickly as I could and we moved her out of the house immediately. If Summer spoke to use like that I am sickened to my stomach thinking of how she must have treated my sick grandmother while no one was around. Do not pay for the "room with attached bathroom". My family paid for the bedroom with the private bathroom. Come to find out the bathroom had two doors, one that led to the hallway and one to her room. The restroom was locked from the hallway side so she couldn't access it from her room. Besides the private bathroom being any but private it wasn't ADA compliant and she could not get her walker through the doorway. Since my grandmother did not have access to the attached restroom we were paying for, the owners thought putting a bedside commode would suffice. This house is every families worst nightmare when it comes to their elderly loved one.
