Here is the rundown: They do not confirm your seats until 3 days prior but they take payment. Don't you find this bizarre? I don't understand why they cannot confirm at the time of booking. You are picked up at a designated hotel (not your hotel) and then two additional stops at two other hotels to pickup additional passengers. Then the shuttle drives you to the airport. You watch a very outdated video on safety. Then 6 of you are jammed into a helicopter plus the pilot. If you are bigger you will be uncomfortable and if you are smaller you will be uncomfortable because of the bigger people. The pilot does a 15-20 minute tour that goes over the bay, golden gate bridge and Alcatraz and then you land in Sausalito where the shuttle meets you to take you back. I could not understand the pilot AT ALL. I had no idea what he was saying during the entire tour. In total it takes about 2 hours and is $215 per person. Is it worth it? Yes if you book with a different helicopter touring company. This was a bottom budget tour. read more

What a fantastic trip. I took my dad for his 80th and it did not disappoint he loved it, he even got to sit in the front which made his day. All the staff are helpful and professional with a full running commentary whilst in the air. There is plenty of room the helicopter seats 6 and it is comfy and feels super safe. My boyfriend bought us a helicopter ride for my birthday and it was one of the best gifts/experiences ever! I've lived in SF for 9 years and this helicopter ride allowed me to see the city from a whole new perspective. We pick up the shuttle from Pier 39 and the shuttle was pretty late. I thought i was late and ended up hopping out of my uber and running 3 blocks to make sure I didn't miss the shuttle only to have to wait 25 mins for our ride to show up. Once you get on the shuttle you'll ride out to SFO, watch a quick safety video and then the group is split up for the ride (the helicopter only fits 6 passengers) so we went on the second ride and just hung out in the waiting room. the ride lasts about 20-25 mins, you'll fly over: ocean beach, golden gate park, over baker beach (we saw a whale which was the BEST!!), underneath the GG bridge, over Alcatraz, over Treasure & Angel Island. The pilot will also hover between the gg bridge and alcatraz for a 360 pano!! I will say it would've been AMAZING to fly over downtown sf but there may be restrictions on that. The helicopter is tiny and it's hot so take that into consideration and also make sure to wear dark clothing if you want to take pics (it decreases the glare on the window reflection) read more

Very upset with this company. Nowhere on its mobile site does it say that you need to call to confirm availability ahead. Booked a flight/Alcatraz tour. Chose my date. It approved it then charged my card. I then let my family know about this amazing trio we were goung to take. I recueved an email stating they were sold out and could not honor the Alcatraz tour. I ubderstand ticket availability. That said what is the point of having an online registration/ticketing site if the data on it is not accurate. My family is now extremely upset that this has been cancelled. And oh yeah.. If reservations are not guaranteed (and it does not say that anywhere) why would they charge my card until confirmed. What if this was a last minute purchase and then my account was short the 900 they charged me and I then didnt have funds to make alternate plans. I have spoken with then in several conversations via email and they have not agreed to honor the tickets. They did today issue a refund which ill see sometine next week even though i said I did not want a refund. So buyer beware. Trips sell out and they may take your money anyways and then call and tell you it is unavailable. That us an unacceptable business practice. Period. Either update your booking system or understand that if there us an issue with the system it is your responsibility to honor those sales. read more

We had an awesome time today exploring San Francisco from helicopter. The service of the company is excellent. Shuttle picks you up and brings you back to a pickup location. You really feel like a VIP. Helicopter is not big, it takes 6 passengers and a pilot. Everybody had a communication device and can talk/hear each other. Pilot was very informative and trained. During the flight he tells many interesting things about the places we fly over. He flies below and above Golden Gate Bridge, which is fantastic. My suggestion is that they 1) video and still image some shots and sell it to you, and 2) if you're not going to sell a video, then you should slow down at certain spots for photos and to enjoy the sights not just announce it and zoom on by , especially for those on the wrong side to view it. read more

We opted for the Vista helicopter tour over San Francisco 1) neither of us had ever ridden in a helicopter 2) it was a good way to see the city and the most famous bridge in the world. It was VERY cool and VERY expense ($200 per person which includes round trip transportation to the heliport in Sausalito) but in my opinion worth the money for such a unique, once in a lifetime experience. During the ride you go UNDER and OVER the golden gate bridge and take a spin over the city where you can see Lombard Street from the sky, the baseball field, and all the towers and sky scrapers. You spin by Alcatraz as well. You are in a helicopter that holds 6 other people, so it is a little cramped but everyone has a window so your view is not ever impaired. The entire ride is only about 15-20 minutes and after you can choose to stay and explore the sea town of Sausalito or travel back to downtown San Francisco (35-40 minute ride depending on traffic). Bottom line: if you can fit it into your budget I would recommend it. There is a similar helicopter tour called Vista Grande that is a little longer and goes over the suburbs of San Francisco. It is an extra $50 per person, and in my opinion not worth the value. read more

I'm a SF native. Being picked up in a shuttle bus at Pier 39 to go on a helicopter ride over the city was something I had previously deemed "for the tourists". However, my concierge friend recommended this after she experienced an amazing ride over the city, and being a concierge myself, I figured it would be a good experience to have and recommend to people as well. I am SO GLAD that I did it! I tied it in with a special occasion as well, and this made our day so special. Definitely one of the highlights of my year. Basically, they pick you up in the bus, drive you over to Sausalito where you then *literally* jump off the bus as it comes to a slow and dart to the already-running helicopter, jump aboard, and take off. Totally 007 style - no lull in between the bus ride and the helicopter ride. The helicopter ride itself is so fun...going under and over the bridge, and all over the rest of SF as well. One of the best experiences I have ever had. Let me premise this review with the fact that I am EXTREMELY afraid of heights. I almost didn't go on the tour (a summer associate event) but I didn't want to be the lame kid who was too scared to go on a helicopter tour of the Bay. I ended up having such a great time. We started at a private airport near SFO, where there was a US Senator taking off and several groups of old men jet-setting off to golf in Portland (they said it was sunnier there). Thank god one of them gave me a beer, or a probably wouldn't have gotten on the helicopter. The actual tour was breathtaking. We went over the Pacific Ocean, out to the presidio, OVER AND UNDER the Golden Gate Bridge, around Angel Island and Alcatraz, and then over the Bay Bridge and through the Financial District. The jurassic park theme music and "I Left My Heart in San Francisco" in the background helped to sooth my nerves, and made me feel a lot cooler than I actually am. If you want to have a fantastic evening with friends or a date, I highly recommend this unique experience. read more

Booked this trip as a surprise for my husbands b-day and he loved it! We have lived in California all of our lives...only about 1-2 hours from San Fran and never even thought about doing this! The shuttle pick up was right on time, the drive over the Golden Gate Bridge to the helicopter site was great and the weather was beautiful! During the flight the pilow gives facts about the different sights that you fly over but 2 of the coolest things were flying under the Golden Gate Bridge and seeing Lombard Street from the air! Some people complain that the flight is only 20 minutes but honestly...if it is your first time in a helicopter, 20 minutes is plenty of time to get used to the noise, feel and vibrations. Make sure to take your camera as they will offer to take your picture in front of the helicopter either before ir after the flight. Fantastic tour! Being a California native to the extended bay area, there are a lot of things I've already done in San Francisco, except this. We took a nice birthday Vista Grande trip in the Helicopter after our shuttle trip from the city into the Sausalito area with other group members (we seemed to be the only local American group, there were others from Germany and Australia) and it was everything the other reviews say. Fred our pilot narrated key information through the trip and genuinely seemed to enjoy the job (who wouldn't when flying around San Francisco all day?) and everyone can talk with each other on the headsets. Everyone was really chatty during the fly under the Golden Gate! That experience by itself it worth it. Not sure if any other in the air tours can do that. Give it a go if you want to experience San Francisco from a different perspective. If you're debating on which package to pick, the longer Grande package let's you experience it all. Great tour of the city! The duration is a little bit short but the pilot really does point out all the important landmarks around the San Francisco Bay Area. He takes you over and under the golden gate bridge which was pretty cool. We got the opportunity to see a whale in the ocean too. I did get lightly nauseous so for those who have a tendency to get car sick, this tour may not be for them. Overall it was a great experience! The ride itself was amazing and we even flew under the bay bridge which was awesome! What really sucked was the shuttle being over an hour late to get us after being told we need to be 15-20 minutes early. I was in a recent car accident so standing in front of a hotel with no where to sit for over an hour was pretty lame and meant I was in pain for the rest of the day. I booked my flight & Sunset dinner cruise through Expedia back on 2/27/17. It was scheduled for 3/18/17. My husband and I were going to be celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. It was going to be wonderful. SF Helicopter called yesterday to let me know they were booked for this weekend. How could this be! I had already paid for this trip. Apparently they sent me an email on 2/28/17 which I never received and they never follow up on! They didn't seem to care about my disappointment either. Rey told me they had been in business for 40 years and it didn't matter if I was upset. I guess a celebration of 20 years of marriage was nothing to her, but it means the world to me. I've got to say that this helicopter tour was one of the coolest things I've ever done. I was taken here on a first date- best date ever!! We decided to go pretty spontaneously, calling at 11am and getting on a 3pm tour. It was really convenient that we were able to do this all on the same day (but I have no idea if there are typically same-day reservations available). The experience starts with a relaxing shuttle from SF to Sausalito, which was exciting for the boy because it involves crossing the Golden Gate Bridge (which he had never been across). Once we got to the heliport, we were notified that one of the four parties that came on the shuttle would be going on a tour immediately, and the other three parties had to wait in the office for half an hour. The wait didn't bother me personally, but we were confused as to why we weren't made aware of it when we made our reservation. Right before boarding the helicopter, the shuttle driver takes pictures of each of the parties individually in front of the helicopter. I thought this was really great customer service, with the employees going above and beyond what they have to do. (On that note, BRING A CAMERA!) Finally you get on and take off! The rest of the experience is completely breathtaking. Everyone wears headphones that are playing San Francisco-themed music, except when the pilot interjects to point out various landmarks. By far the coolest part of the tour, as everyone else has mentioned, is when you fly under and then over the Golden Gate Bridge. The whole tour is a whirlwind and it's over before you know it. It was definitely an experience I will never forget! I highly recommend it ,even for those who have been to SF plenty of times- I bet you haven't seen it from a helicopter! read more
