I ordered a Togo lunch chicken fajitas, and I picked up my order and went back to work. When I opened the bag I realized there was no soft shelled tortillas. I called back and they said that they do not give the tortillas with the fajitas order. I have ordered from several Mexican cuisine restaurants and I have always gotten tortillas with my fajitas order, And the meal was $2 more than what the price showed on the menu on yelp. read more

San Jose was previously located in the Walmart parking lot in Rocky Mount. This location was convenient, and at that time San Jose was my family's favorite restaurant in Rocky Mount, and my family would eat there at least twice a week. A few years ago, San Jose closed their previous location and opened a new restaurant in the Golden East Mall parking lot. The new location is much larger. We were so excited about the new spot, and the first few times we went there it was fine. However, the service, cleanliness, speed, and tastiness of the restaurant really plummeted shortly after the move. Because the restaurant has gone downhill, we don't visit San Jose as much now, but I did stop in for lunch today. Lunch was fine, but the place was not busy. I would love for this restaurant to return to how it used to be. read more

Had a fantastic meal with the family. Something for everyone. They have chicken, beef, fish, even a vegetarian menu. If you're vegan, just specify no cheese or sour cream. I had the vegetable enchiladas. So delicious and filling. We finished up with the fried ice cream. It had fresh seasonal mangoes. So good. Adi was our server. The best service. Thanks Adi. We went for lunch and even though we didn't know what to expect, we were pleasantly surprised. The food was very tasty and cooked well. The refried beans were the real thing. Food came out quickly and was nice and hot. Chips were pretty nondescript and the apple-filled churros were a waste ... just do plain churros with a drizzle of condensed milk like they do in Mexico. Our server, Kirk, was outstanding. He is the best server we've had since moving back to the area 5 months ago. Attentive, but not bothersome, listened and help make the experience enjoyable. This is my last review for my time in NC and San Jose was a great send off. My staff and I ate the last supper at one of the many very good Mexican joints in town. The Rocky Mount area has many great ethnic food options with Italian and Mexican being front and center. I ordered a pitcher of Margarita and a chorizo stuffed burrito con queso. The Margarita I found to be just ok but the burrito was the best chorizo ever. The chorizo was legit with very little grease like you see mostly at the cheaper joints and the queso was legit as well. This restaurant was simply horrible. The food was extremely salty, we were 5 people eating including a baby and everyone hates the food. The nachos were specially salty, impossible to eat. The only okay part was the salsa and chips. The prices seemed okay when we walked in but at the time we received our check many fees were added. So not only is this restaurant bad but also expensive. Food was okay, service was absolutely terrible. We had a server and a trainee server taking care of us tonight and we still had to flag someone down for almost everything. I waited about thirty minutes for my first drink and never received a second even after ordering it two more times. The tables food came out very sporadically with a few of us receiving dishes while others waited or waiting an additional 15-20min for side dishes. There was NO manager in sight to check in on us or lend a helping hand despite staff clearly being spread too thin. I do want to send some high praises to our trainee server Jordan, he was awesome and did a great job considering the circumstances.
