First time in Montrose Colorado to here my brothers band. We decided to try the turkey rap. The don't sell soft drinks so I ordered a strawberry cream fizz. The sandwich was surprisingly delicious! they even have beepers like Olive Garden to let you know your food is ready. They brought it to us! Nice. My family came in and ordered 4 drinks. The place was severely understaffed with only one barista working while there were 5 people in line throughout the whole time we were here. They were out of cold brew. I ordered a matcha. It was not properly mixed and I got chunks in my drink. However, I cannot and will not blame the barista as she was running around the whole joint on a time crunch. The real problem was the lack of staff. The coffee shop was spacious and provided a great space to do work. I recommend, but only on a day with sufficient staff. read more

Totally cool spot! Live jazz on a Sunday was a welcomed surprise. Beers were good but we didn't order food. The girls were nice and very helpful when we asked questions and seemed like they cared! Great dance floor where my wife and I danced a bit to uppity jazz. They have cool board games as well which we loved! Highly recommend!!! read more

We stopped here because it pinged as a brewery on Google maps. It was alas not a brewery but a coffee shop that sells local brews. The space was lovely, the staff was great, and I'm sure their coffee drinks are great. But not recommended if you're hoping to get some unique beers. read more

We stopped for coffee on our road trip and were thrilled with San Juan Brews! They had a large menu with fun coffees and we each enjoyed ours. I met some friends here for Monday evening nachos and coffee. The service was very friendly, and the atmosphere was welcoming, hip & cozy. You can just tell the employees and owner care about providing a high level of service and experience. We loved that they serve Cimmaron coffee and used high quality ingredients . We will be back! San Juan Brews definitely completed changed the game when it comes to not only having coffee and food at a spot but they also have some amazing cocktails and other different drinks besides the beer. The service is always so nice and as quick as they can! As for the ambiance they have changed it so that anyone and everyone can be there and it's quickly becoming the hot spot for the montrose community. San Juan Brews is the place Montrose needed, but we didn't even know it! They serve all the brews- coffee, beer, tea and more. Went for the first time yesterday (they just opened January 1st) and was so pleased with how friendly our barista was. The drinks were delicious as well. They don't have outdoor seating yet, but they have garage door windows, so lots of fresh air flowing through and we grabbed a spot by the window. Bonus that they have a rotation of different food trucks throughout the week- there was a biscuit truck there when we visited. Adorable! The service here used to be exceptional, but since the new ownership it's gone down hill. The past few Sundays I have come to have brunch here and there is always an issue. The first time the owners were late so I waited another 45 minutes for my food to be made because the cook forgot to turn the oven on. Then this Sunday, I wasn't given a buzzer for my food to go and the owner had my food and buzzer with her up at the front but never let me know. So I waited 30 minutes when my food was already complete. $50 dollars isn't worth receiving cold food. The owner also asked another group in front of us to bring her the dirty dish because she didn't have any clean cups. That isn't the customers job, I am in the food industry as well and I would never have a customer touch someone else's dirty dish! In the summertime they also have 12+ flies around the equipment, that tells me the equipment isn't cleaned under. I would assume growing pains but this is just frustrating. read more

I wanted a good latte and some breakfast in a place with ambience before heading back to Denver, and San Juan Brews hit all the marks! Great location, easy parking, and gorgeous interior with lots of space for patrons to spread out. Super friendly staff, delicious latte, and a tasty breakfast burrito that was not too gigantic - perfect for me since I am not a big person, but might be considered small to people accustomed to giant burritos. I sat at the open front window to catch a breeze and people watch the street. All in all, the perfect coffee experience I was looking for to kick off my road trip. So happy to have this new coffee shop/brewery hangout spot! First off the ambiance is awesome and they have massive windows/doors that open up when the weather is nice! They have a huge assortment of coffees, smoothies, etc. their pastries are locally baked and the only one I've had so far (the cinnamon roll) was delicious. While I don't normally get whipped cream on my drinks, I have to make an exception for the espresso infused whipped cream or fun seasonal whipped creams. If you're there for breakfast go check out the Alorado Biscuit food truck for a delicious and more hardy breakfast. I haven't tried their beer just yet, so I can't comment on it, but it looks great. read more
