Beef and chicken fajitas, salad, Mexican rice, refried beans, fresh avocado, and piping hot corn tortillas!

I scanned the poor reviews, and from what I saw, they were posted years ago! So don't let them dissuade you from eating here! I've been in Bainbridge now about six weeks and I've visited San Marcos Mexican Grill three times, and I can't imagine you being disappointed! First off, the cleanliness of a restaurant's bathroom tells you a lot about a place. And the men's restroom was very clean and in great shape. Second, they care about the quality of food and provide an abundance of it. I just had the chicken and beef fajitas, which came out sizzling and stayed hot for the next 20 minutes! I substituted avocado for the sour cream, had corn tortillas, and they served it with a separate plentiful plate of salad and refried beans. When you sit down, they bring a big basket of tortilla chips and salsa. I hardly ever eat meat of any kind, but I thought I would splurge tonight, and boy... Was it great! The owners are from the Mexican state of Michoacan, which may explain how good the food is. The cost was just under $20 for a feast. I took half of the food back to the hotel to eat for lunch tomorrow! The staff really seem to care, there's authentic beautiful Spanish language music over the speaker with some of the staff singing along. I really like this place, and I hope you do too.

If you are ever in Bainbridge, Georgia and have a hankering for Mexican food, San Marcos grill is the place. Bainbridge doesn't have that many restaurants and of those, well, roll the dice on good service and food. Been here several times and each time was just good, basic Mexican food. This time I branched out a little and got the deep fried whole fish. Fish was really boney with not much meat (thus the 4 star vs 5 star). My partner got the chimichanga, and her opinion was a 4 star dish. Chips and salsa were fresh and definitely 5 stars. Service was good but could have been more attentive. Still, I recommend and it will definitely satisfy your Mexican food hankering.

Stopped on the way through for early dinner. This was probably the best Mexican food that we've had in a while. I asked for hot sauce and they brought me some homemade stuff from the kitchen that was amazing. My husband said his California burrito was loaded with chicken and was very flavorful. My daughter loved her taco, rice and beans. I got the #31 combo and everything was flavorful and a generous portion. We will definitely stop again.

Good food! Good "Texas" margaritas until you order the second. Received a default margarita at the Texas price.

Enchilada plate was plentiful and tasty. Lunch steak fajitas served on a skillet and had fresh mushrooms and squash in veggies as well! The steak was about the best I've had as it was served as a whole cut into strips over the top of the veggies. Not one piece of fat in any of it and the char was perfect!!! Very attentive staff and accommodating when asked for the "house made" hot salsa, which was great!!! Very clean inside and bathrooms were as well, always a good sign of they take pride in their restaurant. Even had a community wall with info on Autistic month displayed in foray. All in all, def would be back and def recommend this place!!

The vegetable quesadilla was good and flavorful but the spinach enchiladas, I'm pretty sure they were just spinach wrapped in a tortilla with no cheese or other flavoring inside so those were sort of boring. The quesadillas had more of a fajita filling so they were much better. Wouldn't be my go-to spot but it was ok and we got our food pretty quick.

With that being said, I have always stated that the best Mexican food will be found in these humble, nondescript, hole-in-the-wall type restaurants. My server came over and brought me some chips and salsa. The salsa was very good. For my lunch, I couldn't decide between a California burrito or their birria burrito. So I compromised and got a California burrito along with a birria taco. Both the California burrito and the birria taco were very good. Though sadly, the accompanying green and red sauce were both very bland and lacking any dimension. I would not be surprised if these were bought at a discount in bottles. All In all, this was a good choice for lunch and I would definitely recommend it if you are in the area.

Always a gamble when traveling and going somewhere you've never been, but wanted to let other travelers know I made the wrong choice. Didn't finish food. Also charged extra 4% to use credit card.

The place was a battered looking room with a few tables, but it had a toddler watching "Baby Shark" videos in this otherwise empty room. This was definitely a strange experience and something that would be scripted in a horror movie. It was pretty much that bizarre. A friendly man exited the other building and came in and greeted me warmly. I ended up ordering two tacos and a gordita. He informed me that it was cash only and would be about twenty minutes. Lookin around, this room was spartan. The toddler was intent on the television and every now and then, would join in and sing along with the songs. I looked around the room. There was no bathrooms. They had toys in a corner. With the exception of a few booths and a few other trappings, you would never think that it could be a restaurant or even considered as one. My food came out quicker than the twenty minutes. I paid fir my food and it was pretty cheap. The menu written in the wall dies not have prices, but for the gordita and two tacos, it was just over eight dollars ($8.06 to be exact). I took my meal to go and I have to say that it was pretty good. I preferred the gordita over the tacos, but both were good. This is a hard one to grade. I don't think that I would want to dine in here, but the tacos and gordita were okay. They came with a green salsa and a crema and instead of a napkin, I had a small paper towel thrown in the bag. I guess that I will give it four stars.
