2 Carne Asada, 2 Al Pastor, 2 Sauces, sliced cucumber - I'm ready to go!

The tacos here still satisfy, though I keep promising myself I'll try some of the other menu items - they even have a Molcajete on the menu! And Daily Specials! And Breakfast "stuff"! And whole Roasted Chicken at the meat counter. And Pig Skins the size of an elephant's ear - seriously - have I ever mislead you - well, there was that ONE time, but that was the wine, and going back that far is just rude! 2 Al Pastor & 2 Carne Asada - $4 plus tax. Bit of a wait this time, no chips or salsa this time, smaller pieces of pineapple in the Al Pastor this time, guy at the cash register almost smiled this time, I think he fixing to get ready to stop disliking me - in the end, I consider this a winner!

Front to back: Chorizo, asada, al pastor. All delicious! Chorizo was the fav

As others said, it's a Mexican grocery store with a restaurant attached. For what you'd expect (simple, authentic, affordable Mexican food) I'd give it 4 stars. By no means will it provide a full restaurant experience (3 stars compared to other stand-alone restaurants, for the simplicity of the place only). Went for the $1 taco deal all day Tues and Wed! Preferences from most to least fav: 1) Chorizo (sausage) - meat just had great flavor 2) Al Pastor (marinated pork) - nice twist with the pineapples 3) Steak (asada) - solid flavor 4) Chicken (pollo) - Bland. Wouldn't recommend. The tacos are on the smaller side. But they're $1 each, so not complaining. Service was nice! The waitress had somewhat limited English, but answered our questions satisfactorily. Complimentary warm chips and salsa. There's also a salsa bar with a couple of other selections. We were given samples of the fried pork skin when browsing the store. They also have a BAKERY with a good variety of pastries. Tried a pineapple-filled bun that was quite nice. All in all, this is a nice place to swing by for some authentic Mexican food on a relaxing day with friends.

Update for our 2026 annual visit:…read more We ate in this year and the service and ambiance matched the quality of the food we had last year. I have been looking forward to the World Ninja Championships so that I can eat here again and the team did not disappoint. I had the special, chilaquiles supreme and YES! Flank steak butterflied and so tender that I cut through it easily with a butter knife. They make the chips fresh for each order of chilaquiles and you can taste it. Generous amounts of every flavor that went into the meal and I left stuffed! Hands down, my favorite place and I have a feeling we are making a second trip here this year for sure! First impression as you walk in, or look at images of the menu: AUTHENTIC! First impressions when you bite into your food: They nailed the first impression! I had the lingua, tripa, pez, and Pastor tacos. My family had the California burrito, chicken and beef tacos, and the Enchiladas Mexicanos with mole and salsa verde. We also added a side of guac and chips. Guac: thin mixed avocado and perfectly sized chunks mixed in with the tomato and seasonings. An absolute must! The 4 tacos I ate were succulent to say the least. The tripa was thin and crispy, but you could taste the rendered fat in them. It had the texture of perfectly cooked bacon. Al pastor is one of my favorites and this one did not disappoint. Then there was the pez taco that was just the right amount of crispy without being an iota overcooked. At last I ate the lingua taco. It melted in my mouth and I immediately wanted another. I don't even like mole sauce, but I couldn't stop eating the mole enchilada. Aces, hands down. The California burrito was phenomenal and had the perfect amount of each ingredient and a delectable amount of heat and sweet cream sauce. The chicken was obviously hand shredded and had equal amounts of larger chunks of meat and thin pulled pieces to soak up all the flavor in endless nooks and crannies. If you have not been here please do your palate a flavor and stop in. The value far exceeded the price of our meals and we plan on coming here every year when the World Ninia finals rome to town

Service was really bad. Our server was absolutely terrible. Got most of our order wrong despite showing her the items on the menu. She didn't check the table at all and we had to send other employees to get her and even then she performed what was a very simple job extremely poorly despite having only one other table. Ambiance was terrible. Music was so loud. We had to actually yell at each other as did the other patrons and we asked multiple times to turn it down without success. Will never return to this awful restaurant.

True to its namesake, there are brightly colored folk art designs throughout the restaurant in line with their Mexican heritage. The trees that make it look overgrown from the outside actually serve to allow sunlight while masking the surrounding city, facilitating the transformation that makes you feel like you're in Mexico City. We came at an off-peak time in the afternoon and it was nearly empty. We were seated immediately and the service was prompt and attentive. I was pleased to see some unique menu offerings like Birra Ramen and Sopes that deviate from the standard American-friendly fare in most places. Drinks were good - we had a regular house margarita, a triple berry margarita, and a jalapeño cucumber margarita. All were tasty and I would order again. I tried to order a Mezcalita, since it's not often I see a Mezcal option, but they were out of that particular liquor. We tried to get street corn as an appetizer, which they were also out of. We got cheese and salsa with chips instead. The chips were hot and fresh, the salsa generous with the cilantro, and the cheese bold and warm. For entrees we had the Al Pastor Quesadilla and the Birra Ramen. The quesadilla was good, though the beans on the side were pretty bland. The ramen was a unique and very tasty option, and I was not able to finish such a generous portion. I think I'd leave the cheese out next time since it made some weird textures, but the flavor was great overall. Overall, there are some small things to improve (having menu items in stock, bland beans) and the prices were a bit high, but we had a great experience overall. I'm not often in the area, but I'll certainly eat here again if I am!

Met up with a friend to grab lunch today, and had another great experience. Surprisingly, especially for a Friday, we were the only people there for lunch another small party arrived toward the end of our meal. The hostess/waitress was very friendly and attentive, checking on us, keeping chips, salsa and drinks topped off. I got the lunch ACP, which was quick to come out, and a first for me, it was served with choice of corn or flour tortillas...I opted for flour. The food tasted great, and portion size was perfect, honestly, probably a little more than I should have eaten for lunch, but it will tide me over until dinner. Definitely worth checking out. This spot has an amazing bright and vibrant atmosphere, beautifully decorated with bright colors, a much different look inside then out. I'm sure I'll be back again soon, good food, great, and quick service!

The name Bandito Bodega is extremely accurate, as the store itself is a small and unassuming looking place, with a charmingly decorated interior and some indoor and outdoor seating. It was very convenient to order at the cash register as soon as you walk in, and the staff was very patient and efficient. I adored the unpretentiousness and individuality of the place. It did not need any flashiness or grandeur- just some good food and good vibes. Now the food: WOW I was blown away by the pork belly garlic fried rice. The pork belly was so incredibly fatty and perfectly crispy, the shrimp add-on was juicy and well seasoned, and the fried egg over a bed of DELICIOUS steamy garlicky fried rice was absolutely perfection. And they do NOT skimp on the portions. This heaping bowl was just $15, and it was generously topped with the pork belly. This will easily be a place I plan to frequent often, for the convenience, food, and charm.

I went on a solo mission, and I sat at the bar, one waitress came by and gave me the menus, and another waiter came by and got my drink order and simultaneously another waitress came out and gave me chips and salsa, like a well oiled machine! I put in my crazy request for a veggie torta which of course wasn't on the menu but it was what I wanted, my waitress assured me it wouldn't be a problem and she and the chef delivered! The torta was delicious, there was a smorgasbord of veggies in there. The food came out really quick as well and everything was hot and fresh! I also got a cucumber margarita, they had actually muddled real cucumbers into the margarita and it was delicious. They also had red sauce and green sauces available which elevated the dish perfectly. The black beans were also delicious. The place looks small on the outside but there's a good amount of seating indoors and the bar area is fairly big. Overall though Crazy Mexico #5 had amazing good, impeccable service and a great vibe to it. If they keep this up, we'll be seeing a Crazy Mexico #6 in no time!
