Had my haircut here a month ago. I always wait to review because the cut immediately after doesn't always grown in nicely. I relayed what my hair goals were and length, in very broken Chinese and Figo understood the assignment. It also helped that he knew exactly what he was doing. He's been a master stylist for more than 3 decades. Did I love my haircut the moment I walked out? No. But a week later when my haircut started to settle and the layers started to grow in a bit I realized that was the handy work of a really good stylist. All the layers were cut with intent and not butchered with a razor. Figo is a stylist that shapes hair according to the texture, length and movement. Not one that gives a good temporary cut when you walk out but as soon as you wash it becomes unruly. The salon may not be sleek and fancy, but I come for the expertise of a good hair cut. Not for marble floors and fancy lighting. I'll be back here for my next cut. read more

Came here to get a wash and blow out. Tony was my stylist. He spoke very little English but we got along fine with some Google Translate. He really didn't need any words because his skills spoke for him! He is super talented!! First off my wash was very thorough! He did a double cleanse and was very good at massaging and really getting ny hair squeaky clean! I have allot of hair so I'm always worried when I try a new stylist. He is a seasoned hairdresser! He really handled my thick hair like a pro! My hair felt super soft and clean and just bouncy after! I was so impressed with his job! I will be coming back often! So much better than DryBar and other salons I've visited. It's nothing fancy and it's a small salon but the quality of their work is that of a 5 star salon! I discovered San Salon on Yelp and took a two hour ride to get there. The owner did an amazing job at doing a japanese straight "perm" on me. He spoke little English, but he was kind and didn't make my head hurt like the other places I've gotten this treatment at. Thank you, Figo! read more

Went pretty well, had an adorable door greeter hair stylist mostly spoke mandarin but I couldn't , so we talked through Google translate but was able to get my words through. All in al,l while it was a bit pricey, I got exactly the hair cut I wanted and got great service! read more

I was looking for a hair salon right after I went to go get my bangs cut and they looked a mess... I saw this place and thought why not! Best decision ever! The two men that were there are very kind and gentle, although there was a language barrier he communicated very well and understood what I wanted. The place is small, only 2 chairs for haircut & 1 side chair for manicure. The guy that cut my hair just came back from smoking break, couldn't stand the smell when he washed my hair. The other guy had the guest who he spent time to chat with her, so the hair cut that should be done in 20 minutes if he is really an expert ran more than an hour, because that was how long I waited for another stylist even though I have already called for appointment. Not sure how this place can handle walk in for more than 2 customers. read more

Really enjoyed my experience here! Figo, who runs the store, cut my hair with a lot of attention and detail. He's a cool, artistic Chinese guy that used to work with celebrities in China and has a high level of professionalism - the last 20 minutes of my cut was basically him perfecting every minute detail. He is a craftsman and takes his time to get it just right. For $65 (not including tip), it was a GREAT DEAL. I feel like haircuts in the SGV have always been a wild card - many old school shops exist charging VERY affordable prices (we're talking like $25) and get you in and out in 25 min. But these hair stylists received training in the 80s and have not kept up with the times, making them skilled in technique but the cut just doesn't come out quite right if you're going for a specific 2020s look. The alternative seems to be trendy salons in Ktown that charge $120 for a haircut.. the cuts are guaranteed to look nice but I end up feeling like ... did it need to be that expensive? I'm so glad I found Figo's shop and will be coming back :) read more

Whelp, my 1st time coming here. The tall Asian guy did my haircut and did an amazing job. I was afraid of going to the hair salon because it is so hard to find a good person who knows how to cut hair especially now a days that everything is sooo expensive . The price was great the cut was satisfying. May I note my hair was not easy to cut since I had not been at the hair salon since 2021 + I have been doing a terrible job at cutting my own hair. Lol! I think I would be coming back hopefully in a couple of months and not years. Lol read more

Got a haircut here during COVID since they had a tent outside and were able to give cuts. I paid $25 before tip which isn't terrible, but kind of a lot since my hair is short and my cut only took 10 minutes. Overall, I'm just happy to be able to get a haircut since thats been very challenging during these times! read more

Not recommend！ The hairstylist doesn't even haven basic hair cut technique, I went for a simple hair trim on length, not even require laying, thinning & texturing, did not check the back when it was done until I got home and realised the back is disappointed result shown as in the photo. The edge of hair is not same level! I have no idea how could the stylist done this with his scissor! OMG ! Avoid! read more

Amazing and friendly group of people here at the salon. Was always too intimidated to get a perm anywhere, but Figo and his sister are god sends and were born to do Hair and Nails. My husband had his haircut at here, for my curiosity I paid a visit instead of the bad commute to K-Town. Truly, I wish they could have a better appointment system. I called for an appointment, but I was told that they don't take same day appointment, so walk-in is perfectly fine. However, when I arrived, I had to wait for 1.5 hours. It drove me crazy... So time your schedule better if you want to come here, calling a couple of days in advance is highly recommend. read more

Trust me, FIGO'S THE BEST HAIR STYLIST I'VE EVER MET. He is very professional and skilled. Very easy-going and knows how to make you look perfect. I want to record a really good haircut experience with Sky at this salon. I walked into the salon at the last minute, with no appointment or sample pictures. It was busy but I didn't have to wait that long given I was a walk-in. Because I'm a little down on myself of late, I don't ask for much or expect much from a haircut, and recent results reflect that. But Sky engaged me with questions about what I wanted. We used the very courteous young woman who seemed to be the salon's nail person as a translator, who conveyed a number of questions from Sky. (Her upbeat, positive nature was also terrific.) He then took more than a few minutes looking at my face and hair and moving the hair around and then started the cut. I was very pleased and surprised with the result. He had worked with the slight natural curl in my hair to create a layered cut that helped better frame my really round face and that had movement and felt light. It's been a few days and the cut is very easy to work with. The price point was also excellent. I'll definitively be giving Sky another try. read more

This salon is a great place to get haircuts, but I would not recommend having them bleach your hair. I asked for Ashe Gray and my hair turned out to be brassy and damaged. I had to pay extra to go to another stylist to get a haircut (to trim out the damaged, split ends) and color correction. read more

Never come... unless you wanna get the way they only can do(I've show the what I need.and told them what do I need) ..was a nightmare.. never had a terrible hair cut in my whole life.... and the stylist even cut his finger... I don't know what should I say.. but for your hair... never come.... I've give nice tips for his finger tho... Then I had to go other store fix my hair... what a nightmare.... This is a belated review. This was my first time at San Salon, because I couldn't get an appointment at the place I used to go, so my friend recommends me San Salon. Honestly I was a bit worried before I went, since I have a not very round head shape (LOL), and usually have to explain how I want it. The hair stylist Figo, who did an AMAZING job helping me to transform my long messy hair to a cute Bob hairstyle!! He is very easy to communicate and super detail, laying out the hair to create the round and smooth shape! I am 100% satisfied with the outcome! So I would very much like to recommend San Salon. I hope the COVID closure order will be lifted soon, so I can go back to color my hair. read more

By far the worst haircut I have ever got. Litterally took 20 minutes, and the guy would not listen to anything I told him. After the haircut was finished, it was a total disaster. Even worse, it was $45 for a sloppy job. Never coming back, and save your money elsewhere. read more

I came here a month ago to cut my hair while I drove by this place. It was my first time coming here and the stylist who cut my hair had Tatoo on both of his arms. I have been searching for a stylist who could cut for me and my wife for a long time. The guy was good and I had a good vibe having him cut my hair. I thought I finally found my stylist, but unfortunately he is no longer working there. I had to go pick up my son from his art class after my haircut so I didn't get his name and number as I thought he would be there next time when I come. I will try another place next time. read more

You can see the quality of work in the picture of my nails (pink set) I was charged 210 dollars for hard gel on my natural nails with the modified design. The reference picture has a diff design on every nail, I got the same 5 designs on both hands. She charged me 137 for the design. That is the most ridiculous price I've paid. She never mentioned it would be that expensive and I never imagined it would be anywhere close to that. It was partly my fault for not asking the price before we began but this quality of work is not worth over 200. A price like that is something you discuss with the client. I never would have agreed to get them done if I knew. I questioned her when she gave me the price and she mentioned it was 137 for the design because it was difficult and took 2 and a half hours. I appreciate that she did her best but to look at that work and think to charge someone 137 is insane, without even letting me know beforehand. I paid and even tipped 15 because I just try to avoid conflict but I am so upset and feel stupid for spending that much on a mediocre nail design. I would avoid this place for any kind of design. In response to the owner: No I'm not happy with the work. It looks nothing like the picture I showed. And it's worrisome that you as an owner think it's acceptable to charge 137 for a design (210 total) with work that looks like that.

Christa's salon is so cute and welcoming, I knew I was in good hands. She was so gentle with trimming my cuticles I didn't cry at all (normally I bleed while big crocodile tears roll down my cheeks). And she has an amazing selection of colors and product--Christa is a next level tech. Some of the products Christa used I have never even seen at other places. I could tell she cared about the quality of product she puts on her client's hands. I had reviewed her prices beforehand, and she told me her mantra was "nail art for all." I ended up going with black gel and a little negative space, and it looked amazing. I had random people on the street ask me today where I got my nails done. I am so happy with my nails! The best place for getting new , interesting element to ur life. I came here as office lady after a nasty long business neogtiation, 30 mins later . Boom ~ I became a hip-pop girl with trendy braid. I thought I am very lucky to find Figo, a very professional hairstylist. My hair is not very straight, and I do not want to perm straight. I like short hair, but I want my hair long enough that I can pull them up. So it is very hard to find a style suit for me and fulfill my requirement. But Figo made it! It is amazing. Chemical Burned Hair and Rude Service - Stay Away…read more I had a terrible experience here, and I feel obligated to warn others. The salon is far from clean--I saw a lunch bag sitting right next to hair dye while I was getting my hair washed, which is completely unhygienic. Afterward, I developed a bad rash, which I suspect came from the unsanitary conditions or the products used. During the process, the hairstylist sprayed mist on my hair without reminding me to close my eyes. When the liquid got in my eyes, she noticed and casually said it was "just water," then told me I needed to close my eyes. The reason I hadn't done so earlier is because she had interrupted my perm halfway through, saying she needed to apply hair brilliantine or some other styling product to another male's hair. She then came back to work on my hair without washing her hands. At that point, I had no idea whether the products she was using on me were meant for me or had been used for other clients. The female hairstylist who worked on my hair was extremely RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL. At one point, she questioned why I had a small bunch of hair after applying the solution before my perm, but it was obvious that she either left or forgot that bunch of hair during the process. Instead of listening to what I wanted, she gave me the style SHE thought was "pretty," completely ignoring the picture I showed her. She even told me that what she did was "much prettier" than the look I wanted! To make matters worse, my hair ended up chemically burned. She used a hair dryer and styling comb to mask the damage, making it seem fine. I even gave her a $40 tip, thinking everything was okay. But when I washed my hair at home, I realized how badly my hair was burned. Friends and colleagues kept asking me what had happened to my hair, which was really embarrassing. Before I left the salon, she actually PUSHED me--totally unprofessional behavior. This place is unsanitary, and the staff clearly doesn't care about their clients' preferences or well-being. I definitely won't be returning and I urge others to avoid this place!
