I had such an amazing experience at San Salon! The owner personally worked on my hair and spent the entire day carefully cutting, bleaching, and coloring it. You can really tell how much skill, patience, and attention to detail went into the whole process. The result is absolutely beautiful. Everyone in my class and at work keeps complimenting my hair and asking where I got it done. Several people even told me this is a style I could keep for 10 years because it looks so natural and flattering. The color blending is perfect and it covers all of my grey hair while still looking soft and dimensional. What I love most is that the style is very easy to maintain, which is exactly what I wanted. Had my haircut here a month ago. I always wait to review because the cut immediately after doesn't always grown in nicely. I relayed what my hair goals were and length, in very broken Chinese and Figo understood the assignment. It also helped that he knew exactly what he was doing. He's been a master stylist for more than 3 decades. Did I love my haircut the moment I walked out? No. But a week later when my haircut started to settle and the layers started to grow in a bit I realized that was the handy work of a really good stylist. All the layers were cut with intent and not butchered with a razor. Figo is a stylist that shapes hair according to the texture, length and movement. Not one that gives a good temporary cut when you walk out but as soon as you wash it becomes unruly. The salon may not be sleek and fancy, but I come for the expertise of a good hair cut. Not for marble floors and fancy lighting. I'll be back here for my next cut. read more

Came here to get a wash and blow out. Tony was my stylist. He spoke very little English but we got along fine with some Google Translate. He really didn't need any words because his skills spoke for him! He is super talented!! First off my wash was very thorough! He did a double cleanse and was very good at massaging and really getting ny hair squeaky clean! I have allot of hair so I'm always worried when I try a new stylist. He is a seasoned hairdresser! He really handled my thick hair like a pro! My hair felt super soft and clean and just bouncy after! I was so impressed with his job! I will be coming back often! So much better than DryBar and other salons I've visited. It's nothing fancy and it's a small salon but the quality of their work is that of a 5 star salon! The place is small, only 2 chairs for haircut & 1 side chair for manicure. The guy that cut my hair just came back from smoking break, couldn't stand the smell when he washed my hair. The other guy had the guest who he spent time to chat with her, so the hair cut that should be done in 20 minutes if he is really an expert ran more than an hour, because that was how long I waited for another stylist even though I have already called for appointment. Not sure how this place can handle walk in for more than 2 customers. read more

Really enjoyed my experience here! Figo, who runs the store, cut my hair with a lot of attention and detail. He's a cool, artistic Chinese guy that used to work with celebrities in China and has a high level of professionalism - the last 20 minutes of my cut was basically him perfecting every minute detail. He is a craftsman and takes his time to get it just right. For $65 (not including tip), it was a GREAT DEAL. I feel like haircuts in the SGV have always been a wild card - many old school shops exist charging VERY affordable prices (we're talking like $25) and get you in and out in 25 min. But these hair stylists received training in the 80s and have not kept up with the times, making them skilled in technique but the cut just doesn't come out quite right if you're going for a specific 2020s look. The alternative seems to be trendy salons in Ktown that charge $120 for a haircut.. the cuts are guaranteed to look nice but I end up feeling like ... did it need to be that expensive? I'm so glad I found Figo's shop and will be coming back :) read more

Whelp, my 1st time coming here. The tall Asian guy did my haircut and did an amazing job. I was afraid of going to the hair salon because it is so hard to find a good person who knows how to cut hair especially now a days that everything is sooo expensive . The price was great the cut was satisfying. May I note my hair was not easy to cut since I had not been at the hair salon since 2021 + I have been doing a terrible job at cutting my own hair. Lol! My husband had his haircut at here, for my curiosity I paid a visit instead of the bad commute to K-Town. Truly, I wish they could have a better appointment system. I want to record a really good haircut experience with Sky at this salon. I walked into the salon at the last minute, with no appointment or sample pictures. It was busy but I didn't have to wait that long given I was a walk-in. Because I'm a little down on myself of late, I don't ask for much or expect much from a haircut, and recent results reflect that. But Sky engaged me with questions about what I wanted. We used the very courteous young woman who seemed to be the salon's nail person as a translator, who conveyed a number of questions from Sky. (Her upbeat, positive nature was also terrific.) He then took more than a few minutes looking at my face and hair and moving the hair around and then started the cut. I was very pleased and surprised with the result. He had worked with the slight natural curl in my hair to create a layered cut that helped better frame my really round face and that had movement and felt light. It's been a few days and the cut is very easy to work with. The price point was also excellent. I'll definitively be giving Sky another try. read more

This is a belated review. This was my first time at San Salon, because I couldn't get an appointment at the place I used to go, so my friend recommends me San Salon. Honestly I was a bit worried before I went, since I have a not very round head shape (LOL), and usually have to explain how I want it. The hair stylist Figo, who did an AMAZING job helping me to transform my long messy hair to a cute Bob hairstyle!! He is very easy to communicate and super detail, laying out the hair to create the round and smooth shape! I am 100% satisfied with the outcome! So I would very much like to recommend San Salon. I hope the COVID closure order will be lifted soon, so I can go back to color my hair. read more

I have been searching for a stylist who could cut for me and my wife for a long time. The guy was good and I had a good vibe having him cut my hair.
