I've been to this location twice now and only have good things to say. The salon is clean quiet and well organized. Service is excellent from start to finish. They offer a complimentary drink which is very thoughtful. Their prices are on par with the area (so a little bit higher) but it's well worth it for the service and outcome. I paid $50 for a "pamper me" pedicure which included massage, scrub, and callus removal. $30 for a classic manicure. Their massage chairs are strong, love them! They've been very accommodating even when I call last minute and will do their best to squeeze me in if possible (eg: called for mani/pedi, they said they only had a slot for one service, but when I showed up they were able to provide both services). I've been to a lot of salons of varying price points and this one is my favorite in the area. read more

Lily is Amazing! I had a wonderful experience with her from start to finish. She was completely present during my pedicure. I marveled in the combination of her kindness and skillset. She scrubbed my feet like she meant it. She massaged my legs and rubbed my feet like she meant it. She was aware of time and had great attention to detail. Ive had many expeirences where the pedicurist checks out and is going thru the motions, not present to my response at all. They were rubbing the same part of my leg on repeat, spaced out and not noticing it doesn't feel good and is actually becoming annoying. Or the foot scrub / callus removal is super half ass. The manicurist who tended to me was very nice and they must specialize in pedis because they had quite of few packages available to choose from. My absolute FAVORITE place to get my nails done, and now will be the only place I'll get it done. I have such weak, fragile nails and this is the only nail salon that takes such great care of me. The nail techs here never chip/break my nails whenever they're prepping my nails. Make sure that you schedule an appointment since they're always booked! Front of shop service is also just as great. Nelson is a real pro when it comes to providing customers with great service and always remembers customers. Once you walk into the shop, you're greeted right away and asked to select your nail color before being walked over to your assigned spot. You're also given a drink option - my favorite is always the iced coffee that they make in house (it's so good, so make sure you get it!). I've gotten my nails done here a few times and I'm never disappointed. I usually get gel x-tensions and always need help from the nail tech to select a color since I always choose a weird color. First time here but will be a regular customer. I came as a walk-in and I was promptly greeted. It was my first time getting my nails done in a long time and they were so patient with me! They had a variety of beverages to choose from but I went with something simple like ginger ale, lol. From there, my nails were done! I went with the full set gel-x. It was quick and relatively painless. It wasn't cheap - it set me back around $80, including tip. Not sure if this something I'll get regularly done but it was a nice treat to myself! The shop is located in a strip mall by the freeway so it really is a blink and you'll miss it. But the staff is so wonderful, you'll definitely come back! Parking is a bit tricky; the shopping center doesn't have a lot of spaces so if you get a good one, you're in luck! read more

This is the best nail salon I've been to in the area. My friend and I have been going for the past two years and never leave disappointed. The staff is the best, very friendly and attentive. I get a hard gel full set with a design and it always comes out looking like the photo that I show them. There have been times when my nail has broken or the polish chipped but they've always fixed it when I called to let them now. They play calming music so I find myself relaxed there as it should be. 10/10 for me. read more

I've been getting my Gelx done here the past 2 years now and I can't imagine not having my biweekly appt. They have a full drink menu including the best iced coffee, wines, teas. They're always playing something on TV: either project runway, Gordon Ramsey, or even vampire diaries at one point haha. The level of customer service and care here is unparalleled to any other salon I've been too. Nelson is an angel and will predict your needs before you say a word. Vin is a shape perfectionist. I'm really really bummed to write this. I've been here a few times and it's been great. It's very clean, they're hospitable, great selection. They give my favorite pedicure I've found in Pasadena since I moved here. I walked home hoping it wasn't as bad as it felt. -To begin, both my manicurist and pedicurist were rude. No like rude rude. Like it made me feel anxious and self conscious rude. Whatever, maybe it's a bad day. -My manicurist cut 5 of my fingers on my right hand, 4 on my left. Every time I tried to pull away or tell her she was hurting me she'd just tell me i was being "sensitive", or my "skin is thin". Then why do they all sting and burn with each stage of the manicure? Why has this never been an issue for me? She was rushing through with a drill in her hand like she was trying was trying to beat a new time. I'm assuming it was because I was her last appointment. I was bleeding. She put a blue liquid on them and it burned so much and I asked her to rinse it to get it off a few times, she wiped it with a dry cotton ball. I asked three different times that I needed my nails really really short for work. She told it would look better long. I asked her for round shape, she said almond looks good. I showed her a picture of the exact shape I wanted. She nodded. and this is what I got. Sad almond blobs. A few more rounds of shredding my cuticles. I keep jerking my hands away because she's hurting me. She tells me I'm sensitive some more. Fingers crossed I won't get an infection. I got clear on my toes because I just wanted out as soon as possible and I wouldn't care if I smudged clear. I've been home a couple hours and my fingers are throbbing and stinging. The more I looked at them the more I wanted to cry. This was the only time I had to get my nails done before my anniversary trip. This cost me over $200. I work in the beauty service industry as well. I know how it can be. But this quality of work and service was genuinely upsetting, and completely turned me off. I have been trying to find a good nail place for YEARS and had almost given up. Yesterday I decided to try one more place and I'm sooooooo happy that I did! Mai's Nail Bar is AMAZING! From the time I walked in until I left, I was treated with respect and pampered. I picked my color, sat down in whichever pedicure chair I wanted and was immediately given a beverage menu to look at. I obviously went with some red wine and let the pedicure begin. One of the best pedicures I have had in a while! The lady who did my acrylics afterwards was also on point! I haven't had someone actually take time to care about my nails in a while. My only thing that I will say is that I didn't really like is how curved my nails came out. They kinda feel like bird talons. My partner thinks they look cool, but I guess I'll just have to get used to them. Customer service was epic and I rebooked for my fill before I even left. Pros: -they were staffed well to accommodate multiple walk ins - the front desk receptionist was very kind and accommodating - the environment is spacious and clean - discount on 1st time customers - parking accessible Cons: - my daughters nail polish came off 2 nails already and she just got her nails done last night, the entire nail polish just slipped off her nail so not sure of the quality of their polish - my gel x nails overall look ok but when you look closely there's a lot of icky stuff going on, weird shaping, nails not lining up, tonssss of glue creating weird thickness, residue sticking out from under nails, bad application of stickers on the one nail I wanted a design on - don't have easy nail selection section for NON gel nails - amongst 4 of us we had a lot of techs working on us and two of the techs were surprisingly rude considering the amount of business we had just brought in, they just didn't like the questions we had or maybe were trying to be funny, not sure - the person doing my pedicure tried more than 10x to push the most expensive pedicure on me, like I get it, you want more money but how many times do I need to say no thank you. It was a nice place to try but I don't think we'd be returning or recommend it because the cons outweighed the pros for us. We went for my daughter and she's the one whose nail polish has come off so quickly without cause so she's so sad and it sucks. read more

I won't go back and suggest you don't. Lumpy paint job and very painful cuticle care and nail shaping. They went / cut so far down the side of my nails. My pedicure technician said I had ingrown nails and proceeded to clip the sides of my big toe. Still feel pain a day later so hoping it's not an infection. I've had pedicures for the last 17 years in 5 major cities and never had these issues. Maybe it's a "unique" approach of this salon but it's a waste of money. This salon is expensive - $50 regular gel and $40 regular pedi - and you don't get what you pay for... you get worse, pain. read more

Very upset with my experience. This is my second visit, and last time, it was a great, so I wanted to come again. My pedicurist was very rough and cut my toe, which started swelling and bleeding. She was rough during the whole procedure, and I had to jerk my foot back several times since it hurt so much. She acknowledged that my toe was bleeding and swelling, but didn't apologize or ask if I was okay. I understand that mistakes happen, but this service is unacceptable. Instead of apologizing, she was very aggressive and just kept going even after I tried to tell her to stop. When I finally called the manager and asked for a different nail tech, she was very rude and tried to blame the situation on me by saying that it was nothing and acted like I was just being dramatic when it actually hurt a lot and is still bleeding 5 hours later. My new favorite nail spot in Pasadena! I made an appointment (they only take appointments) about two weeks earlier than the date I needed to come in. I spoke with Nelson on the phone and he was so nice and helpful! He decided to book me with his mom (Mai) since my design was a bit crazy. Upon arrival, there were only about 3 other people inside and Nelson took mine and my boyfriend's temperature and told us to wash our hands in the sink. We then chose our colors and got seated. Nelson came by and offered up complimentary drinks, which were non-alcoholic and alcoholic! Love that! My boyfriend got hot coffee, which was delicious, and I got champagne, which was also delicious. I got my pedicure done and oh my goodness I loved the lady who did them! She really gave me the best foot and leg massage, definitely not a short one either. She did my toes amazing and I paid $50 for gel pedicure. Then I got my full set gel acrylics done and Mai did such an amazing job! She helped me color match the colors from my picture as well and was an absolute joy to be around. We did have a laugh because she forgot to do the hearts on my pointer finger (which you can see in the picture) so I had to go back another day. But she was more than happy to fix it! I came in today, May 26th, for a gel mani and pedi ($85) and both technicians seemed very unsure of what they were doing and had to ask other more experienced technicians for help during my service. Despite my asking for rounded, more narrow shape they only knew how to do square. I get everyone starts somewhere but it's just not how you want to feel as a paying customer in the chair. I left feeling like I needed to redo my pedicure because it was not what I wanted. Very quickly done and poor polish job.
