At first I was a little hesitant to hire Paul to do our landscape lighting after reading some bad reviews. However, I decided to meet with Paul after learning he always answer his phone. Later on, I also learned he is very on time for scheduled appointments. These are the qualities hard to find out there. After interviewing three different companies, his bid came in at very reasonable pricing, no gimmicks, and up front. Paul and his crew were very pleasant to work with to accommodate request changes along the way. They finished the job on time as promised (3 days). Paul is very professional and takes his job seriously. I am glad he was the one we hired to do our lighting. There are good reviews and bad ones. They sent a guy to take a look at our property. We were told they'd put together an estimate and design for our front yard and that it'd be ready in 4 days. That deadline came and went with no word. Well if you ask me to describe this company as per my experience I would describe them as inconsiderate and disrespectful. On that basis alone I would not recommend them to anyone. I saw one of their trucks in my neighbourhood and decided to call them on some patio work I needed (replacement). Made an appointment with them for the next day. I took half a day off work as the appointment was for 10 am. The next day, 10 1015 1030 and no Sanchos. I called the office and asked if they were still comings. The receptionist told me they were for sure and she'll call them and get a ETA for me. Never heard from them again. Lost half a day of work. Do they care, of course not. This is not a company that we could ever recommend. Paul Sanchez doing business as Sanchos Landscape, was hired to do the landscaping at our new home in Palm Desert. We had a written contract with all prices for plants to include planting and warranty. We then purchased additional plants, at which time he unilaterally rewrote the original signed contract and unilaterally decided to raise the cost of all the plants, including those on the previously written contract. With about 90% complete, Mr. Sanchez asked to be paid in full since he claimed that he needed the money. Being in my 80's, we reluctantly trusted him, and paid him the full amount of the original signed contract on March 30. He seemed pleased to receive the full amount in advance and promised that he would be back in two days to finish the remaining portion of the job. We haven't seen him since. He now states that he won't finish the job unless we pay him an additional $5000 to cover the higher prices that he decided to charge. At this time there are several plants that have died and he refuses to warranty those plants. It is now necessary to hire a new landscaper to finish the job and replace the dead plants. There is a legal definition for his actions but we will leave that to the reader. read more

Sancho's landscaped our front yard in the Four Seasons Terra Lago community in Indio. I'm very happy with the work that was done; however, a problem occurred -- a small element was not in conformance to the HOA regs. The change needed was minor -- but had to be done for the HOA to sign-off on the project. Sancho's was not responsive. I sent 3 emails over a three-week period, and although I got a response, I never got a commitment to fix the problem. I had to hire another contractor to fix the non-conforming element. The work needed was minor, it took the new contractor less than 1 hour to fix it. It amazes me why a service provider, who did quality work, ruined the experience because his was unable to fix a small problem. It's now worth working with Sancho's Landscaping. read more

Paul does great work. He is a certified Arborist. Not all landscapers are certified by the ISA. This helps when trying to pick the plants to go with your landscape. Not only will Sanchos Landscape be able to help you with the type of plants that look best with your landscape, he will be able to help you pick plants that will survive. Sanchos Landscape is was very knowledgeable with turf rebates. I love free money, Even though we don't hear much about the drought on the news, the rebates are still very much available. After several phone conversations and emails back and forth, Paul Sanchez committed to some landscape cleanup in my Sun City home. On the morning he was to arrive (8:00am), I received a phone call saying he had an emergency and would be late. I said okay that I had a class and would be home around 11:00, and if he needed to postpone a day it was all right with me. I received another call shortly thereafter saying someone would be here shortly. Two men arrived and I reiterated what Paul and I had agreed upon. (Initially, replacing the Bend-a-board in the back yard and removing plants, applying rock, etc.) When I returned from my class two hours later, the men were gone and no work had begun. I waited to see if Paul was going to show up. He didn't. The next morning, I called to find out what was going on. I spoke to one of the men who had been out the previous day but he couldn't tell me anything. He gave me Paul's number and said I needed to speak with him. Paul did not pick up when I called so I left a voice mail asking him to get back to me and let me know what had happened and if he was still intending to do the work. I never heard back. I've never dealt with anything like this. It is more confusing than disappointing. read more

I had 5-6 different landscapers come to look at my wasteland backyard, and Paul was the only one who confidently told me everything that needed to be done, how long it would take, and how much it would cost. I hired his team because of their experience. They worked within my budget, worked with my 3 different plant choice revisions, and completed the entire project in less than two weeks. It looks fabulous. They even hauled away some old debris for me, and took care of most of the side yards as well. I am definitely going to have them come back to install a patio cover next year, and when I can afford it, I will have them take care of the front yard as well. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Just had the side of our house redone to remove the turf, extend the deck area and create additional usable space, and extend it into a path to the side gate. Prior to this project it was some grass, mud and a mostly broken up partial brick path. After vetting several contractors I decided to go with Sancho's Landscaping. I provided our own home grown drawing of what we wanted the new area and path to look like. They put stamped concrete in a random stone pattern which is was we chose. Paul was very easy to work with, and everything happened exactly when he said it would. They removed the existing turf and plants, removed rock, and created a beautiful stamped concrete finished product. The result is nothing short of spectacular. We have a beautiful side yard, and suddenly went to much more outdoor space. We couldn't be more thrilled with the result, and the transformation of our side was remarkable. read more

Very pleased with this company. We were having issues with our Anti siphon valve busting at least 2 times out of the year. Who ever installed it before did a half ass job. But I'm happy to say Sancho's Landscaping provided as estimate of $245 on the phone. They came out in 30 minutes, with 3 guys on the job. They did exactly what I asked- moved the valve away from foot traffic (3ft) added an isolation valve and brought it up to code. THANKS GUYS. I will be calling again if any other issues ever arise. Beware. This landscaping business is very unprofessional. They use inferior products and plants. Their work is sub par and the owner lies. Mr. Sanchez did not price or source the 1000lbs of glass rock promised to us in his contract nor did he get HOA approval prior to installation. He ended up putting in a color that was not requested, contracted or approved by the HOA. The 240 lbs (not 1000lbs) he installed was substandard and mirrored instead of all glass to save him money. When we complained he took us to small claims court and lied about what happened. I also requested that all the plants be purple but he put in orange, red and yellow. The plants were cheap with weeds growing around them. Several of the plants have been taken over by the weeds to the point you can no no longer see the plants. The type of desert plants used make weeding impossible, The drip system failed to work and most of the plants died -He is mad that he under estimated (even with using the cheapest materials and plants possible) and does not want to absorb the additional cost, but has no problem with my accepting material and plants that was not approved in writing by my HOA and supplying then later twice removing only a quarter of the 1000lbs stated in the contact. -He did not source or price the rock prior to writing the contract, which is his error not mine It will now cost me well over $1000 to get the rock I was contracted for plus labor and delivery. read more

We needed to remove all the bushes in front of our office on 111 that at some point im sure were in style. We wanted to replace it with Desert landscape to up date our office visually and use much less water for maintenance. We called Paul at Sanchoz and he said it was no problem. After finalizing the typical details we went with Paul. I walked in to my office a few days later wondering when they were going to complete. Without paying attention obviously i turned to look and it was all complete. Im usually running around alot so not uncommon for me to pass things up. It was all painless and my place looks great. Very impressed with the efficiency and quality of service provided. In less that a week, Paul the owner , delivered what was promised and more. They transformed my entire back yard which included removal of multiple large trees, planting ficus and adding over 20 lighting fixtures. The over all result was beyond what I had expected. Very disappointed with their service. They charge top dollar in my opinion ($135/month) and despite continuous conversations with the workers and emails to them (including pictures of the problems), I never could get them to complete an entire service. Sometimes they missed trimming bushes, sometimes they trimmed them and didnt clean the clippings up. Sometimes they broke landscaping lights and sprinklers and didnt say anything. My thinking is that if I am paying that much money, I shouldnt have to walk around and show them the bushes that need trimming and check their work every time! The final straw was them failing to show up for 2 weeks with no contact and never an explanation. From my 6 month experience with them, I would recommend to avoid Sanchos Landscaping at all costs! read more

Called to get an estimate on pouring a concrete patio. A day or two later a guy called and came out. From the time he parked for the estimate and drove away was mane 4 minutes. Told him what I was looking for, he never pulled out pen or paper or even a tape measure! He asked me my email said he will send me estimate next day. Been over two weeks and nothing. read more

Horrible business. I had them install an irrigation system in my backyard. Most of the sprinkler heads would pop up but no water would come up. I called Paul the owner of company many times with no response. I saw on his paperwork that he was part of a group of contractors called Desert Elite Group 760-341-3311, I called and spoke to them about my issue and Paul sent a guy to my house. They determined that I really needed an extra valve for their irrigation system to work correctly. For a fee they would install the valve. I refused to pay for their error. Again, Paul would not return my calls. I called Desert Elite and my new valve was installed at no charge. read more

First, I should have listened when neighbors were telling me they are pricey, secondly, I wanted them to come back and add some plants and I get ignored. I have used Sanchos Landscape now twice first on my vacation home in La Quinta Cove , I bought the house from the bank the landscape was a disaster front and back, he tore it all out poured all new hardscape, built new block privacy walls installed all new grass and plants, as well as placing all my low voltage lights and completed it in 2 weeks I would say the best thing about him - he answers the phone, solves problems and has a huge crew that gets things done quickly and for a fair price. Terrible experience with this business. Hired them to removes lawn, shrubs, trees from my Palm Springs yard and re-landscape with decomposed granite, stone and desert plants. Once they started the project, they were very difficult to get to come back and finish. Really poor about returning phone calls, etc. Did a very poor job removing the lawn properly, and then after the job was finished I noticed grass and weeds growing in spots all over the yard. Come to find out it is growing up through the cheap, thin weed cloth they used. I have a home in Long Beach also and got rid of my lawn (same type of grass) and used good weed cloth and nothing ever grew through it. Also, they redid my irrigation system and did a terrible job with that. Used little drip heads for huge hedges that do not supply near enough water, especially once summer gets here. Since Paul will not return phone calls or come back and correct the problem I now have to have someone come in and fix a system that was just done less than 3 months ago. Save yourself the headaches and aggravation and do not use this business. read more

Unfortunately I did not read the other review first and went ahead and hired Paul of Sanchos Landscape for my project in the desert. On numerous occasions I had the same bad experience as the other reviewer. He failed to show up when scheduled. When I called him to find out where he was he would say he would be there later or the next day and then he would not show up when promised again. When he did show up, he did not follow instructions or do what he had promised and instead did whatever he felt like without regard to my directions and landscaping plan. After the last several days of no-shows, I was left stranded with poorly installed irrigation which quickly broke apart and plants dying in the heat of the desert which forced me to hire someone to hand water what was left. Needless to say I dismissed Sanchos Landscape. Their response was to threaten to sue me. Now instead of a nice lawn I have an ugly lawsuit to look forward to. read more

As a General Contractor I did my due diligence in evaluating the local (Indio) Landscape Contractors for improvements to our rear yard in the new Hovanian Four Seasons/Terra Lago development. By this evaluation I noticed some previous (negative) posts on Yelp which were either in earlier years or reporting on "Landscape Maintenance"; not specific to "Landscape-Hardscape Construction". Former reviews aside...In further review of this company, I was impressed with the professionalism of this company...from required administrative actions (Proposal Preparation, State Licensing, Insurance Coverages) to completion of the work to our agressive "NINE (9) DAY" completion schedule; including significant, detailed concrete work, lighting and planting...with no Change Orders. Of key to the job performance was Paul's arranging for my wife and I to meet him at the rock yard and nursery to final-select materials for installation. In this process, we were very impressed with Paul's knowledge of plant material (botanical references), partcularly for use in our "desert-scape" rear yard.
