On June 5th I contacted Leon's to trim my one Fan Palm tree. They did not show up as scheduled 4 times. Each time they failed to show up, I either emailed or spoke with Gaby, Accounts Administrator. I was repeatedly given a new date but they did not show up. At one point, I was told that the tree was trimmed. I had to send pictures to Leon's to prove them wrong. My one Fan Palm tree was finally trimmed on July 23. On July 25th, I received a bill for trimming the Fan Palm and a Queen Palm. I have no Queen Palm trees on my property. Leon's, get your act together for scheduling and billing. *Update - My next door neighbor has a queen palm in his backyard which Leon's trimmed a few weeks ago. He just told me that he received a bill from Leon's for trimming his tree and my Fan Palm. Leon's strikes again with poor record keeping and office administration. read more

We have used Leon's for two years to trim our mature trees at our home. They know how to properly trim trees without butchering them. Just this week, I hired them to pull out two diseased Palo verde trees and one acacia that was originally planted too close to the patio. They were not cheap, but they showed up on time, worked all day in the summer heat and did a great job. They had all the right tools and equipment for the job. They repaired a couple of broken sprinkler pipes that happened while pulling the trunks from the ground. After repairing the sprinklers, they tested the system to be sure everything was working the way it was before the job. They cleaned up afterwards and left the yard looking as it did before their arrival (without the trees of course). read more

Came promptly the next day to take a look at my yard. Friendly and made a few great suggestions that I was looking forward to see. Gave the guy (Raul?--not sure if that was the name) my email so he can send me a plan and a quote. However, the guy never got back to me. He took a few pictures of the yard but I did notice that he didn't take any measurements like the other landscapers did. A week pass and I called to follow up. The girl on the phone promised he'll send me an email the next day. Another week pass and still no follow up so I've decided to go with a different and more dependable company. read more

I couldn't believe the work that was being done when I first stepped outside after the landscapers arrived. The quick progress they had made in just one hour was astonishing. I knew right away that we went with the right company. This company is professional and the owner, Serafin Leon, is such a great man. He shoots you straight and provides the guidance you need if you're not that well versed in landscaping. His quote wasn't the cheapest so do not expect the best price necessarily, but to us it wasn't about that. Yes, we wanted to be charged fairly but most importantly we wanted quality work. They transformed our backyard in just three days. We started a new garden, planted 8 fruit trees, planted a variety of aloe plants, installed lights, removed rubber chips, new lawn installation etc. The work was tremendous and nearly 4 months later, everything looks even better as it's all settled now. We just completed a major landscaping project with Leon's, as part of a larger house renovation. We found their prices to be competitive, (although certainly not as inexpensive as the 3 guys with a pickup your neighbors use to blow leaves around). Throughout the nearly 3-month project, Leon's professional and a pleasure to work with. They have their own equipment to move palm trees, gravel, etc so things get done efficiently. Trimmed large pepper tree (used a lift to do so). In the back yard, removed old fruit tree, stump and 'tree roots' and replaced with another beautiful and healthy tree. The crew cleaned up completely when they finished and rinsed off the back patio and also rinsed off the driveway. The crew were all hard working and precise with their work. Excellent quality service. I've never used a licensed company for landscaping/tree service before and this was a small job, but the owner, Serafin Leon, was on top of everything and gave smart suggestions to my questions and is very knowledgeable. His crew removed a large tree and the root and planted a beautiful lime tree and sago palm, and replaced sprinklers and lights. We had a large olive tree in the yard in a house we bought two years ago. The first summer I discovered bees were living in the trunk & had a beekeeper come & remove them. Last summer we had another hive & the guys who got them out recommended we have a tree company plaster up the holes in the trunk. I saw scout bees again this spring & called Leon to see what I could do about the tree. It cost me $300 each time I had the bees removed & I wanted a better solution. Leon & Alfredo came & looked at the tree & told me it was dying & needed to be replaced. We talked about options & he said he'd send me a proposal by email. When the proposal arrived, it looked good so I accepted it. A few days later the crew came out & started digging up the old tree. A big crane arrived & they pulled the tree out & set it on the driveway. Leon arrived with the new tree on a big flatbed truck. The tree was much bigger than I had imagined. The new tree went into the hole, was fertilized & watered very well and the crew put all the landscaping gravel back in place. When they left the tree looked as if it has been in the yard for a while. It is very full & the highest limbs are over 10'. It looks great. BTW, they installed new irrigation outlets on four sides of the tree so it will be watered very well as we go into the first summer here in the desert. The activity took about three hours & everything was clean & tidy when they left. My wife was out of town when this happened & couldn't' believe how good the new tree looked when she got home. Very happy with the quality of service received. I had to have a large unhealthy Mesquite tree removed from inside courtyard patio. The tree was slowly dying and its roots were lifting the patio. The removal was complicated by the proximity to the courtyard walls and lights. The estimator arrived on time. Carefully reviewed the Mesquite tree and the situation. I also had other tree trimming needs as well. The estimate was 1/2 the price of another estimate I received that was only for the Mesquite removal. This estimate included the other tree trimming, the Mesquite tree removal and stump grinding. The crew arrived on time, very well equipped, and they immediately went to work. The removal took some time but was a very efficient operation. They did a very thorough job on the clean up and left the area cleaner than when they arrived. Leon's is the company used by our HOA. The manager for Leon's is nothing less than untruthful and his crew does shoddy work. Sprinklers were not maintained, multiple plants died, pruning quality was unacceptable. I met with our HOA manager and Leon's foreman/manager. He agreed he should have better managed his crew and he promised me he would replace the plants at his cost. Two weeks later when I inquired he went back on his word and refused to replace them. I do not recommend them and will never use them after my home is sold. read more

Stay away! It took 3 weeks of going back and forth with the office on having someone come out and give us a quote for work in my backyard. Would always say that you would get called back and never happened. That should of been out first clue. Finally the owner came out to give us a quote. Nice guy and seems to know what he's talking about but there is a huge language barrier. He have us a quote which was a little high but decided to go ahead and use his services. The work was adequate. Had to have him come out a couple times to fix broken sprinkler heads the day after his company installed them. Then came the bill. It was $1000 more than what he quoted us. At this point the work was done and had no other choice but to pay the bill. read more

Leons has been taking care of all our HOA landscaping needs in Indian Wells for some 15 years now. Have always been fantastic with attention to detail. We unfortunately had an inefficient board turnover which left Leons and team with some unrealizable goals due to minimal watering schedules and budget tightening. Through this they have tried their best to keep the community looking as it did in past with drastically cut resources. My property has more vegetation than most so the property started to show results of the cutbacks. Raul has always taken great care of the place but he has drastically increased workload as he now oversees many communities. I just arrived in town for a few days to see that some growth was struggling. To be honest, I gave Raul and his team a harder time than deserved as mentioned above only so much you can do. To his credit, 1 hour after speaking with him he had most of his team at our place correcting and putting in better sprinkler heads to fit our landscape, put up shades for the more delicate plantings during summer and had his team briefed on how I wanted the shrubs trimmed to keep fuller during Summer. I now hire Leons privately on top of HOA work as they are the best! Thank you Raul, Abraham and team!
