This is my third visit to Lucky's Coffee Roasters! The last time I was here, I had attended a Yelp Event where they taught us how to drink, sip, and savor our coffee dependent on the different types of beans! Of course, I had to come back to experience as a customer (again)! Parking was plentiful in the plaza. They were under construction, so there is caution tape leading up to the coffee shop. It was a quiet Monday morning when we had entered. I decided to order from their summer menu and had their Nightfall Cold Brew. My fiancé ordered a tonic! It didn't take long for them to make at all. Of course my coffee was wonderful! It was a strong cold brew with a strong coffee aroma, topped with a slightly sweet marshmallow cream and graham cracker crumbs. My partner liked his tonic, too! Cafe hopped in the IE with my sister today. Parking: There's a med/large parking lot. Free parking lot. Finding a spot can be easy. Ambiance/Environment: They have a large space with plenty of indoor seating. They have two rooms - one for studying and the other for social. It's very clean inside. Great spot to get some work done or even chill. They also sell their own beans! All merchandise are located in the main room! Service: The cashier that assisted us was nice and personable. Throughput was quick after ordering. Drinks: I decided to try their seasonal drinks for the summer, and my sister decided to try their stable drinks. 1) Bonfire Mocha - This mocha contains house made marshmallow syrup, cocoa powder, crush honey graham crackers, milk, and topped with a marshmallow cream top. It's definitely sweet with rich chocolate and marshmallow flavors. You can definitely taste all the ingredients described. I prefer the marshmallow cream top to be a bit thicker, considering it is marshmallow after all. 2) Chai Latte - My sister thought her drink was okay. Mind you, this is her first time trying chai lol. I took a sip of her drink, and the cinnamon and cardamom flavors were strong. It's a bit sweeter than I prefer, but it can always be adjusted. Pricing: A bit more than average. They offer rewards through Cash App. I'd visit once in a while to try their other drinks and pastries. read more

Stopped by Lucky's before my niece's jazz gig around the corner and it was a solid coffee stop. The shop has a cool vibe, plenty of seating, and I liked being able to see the roasting equipment and coffee bags through the windows. The staff was welcoming and attentive. One of the baristas made my drink before I even got to pay. My wife got the Pogi (ube matcha) and that was surprisingly good. Not overly sweet. I went with the cold brew which is my typical thing to get at a coffee shop. It was smooth, but tasted a bit watered down compared to the cold brews I usually order. The food is basic eats for now but combined with their service and amazing coffee, it elevates this place to be an oasis in the desert. The Ambiance is well.... I was skeptical about the rosemary flavor at first because I see rosemary as more savory than sweet. However, the aromatic, herbal rosemary with the citrusy, floral scent of bergamot worked very well together. So glad I tried it! I would definitely get it again. Also got my eldest daughter one Ube POGI (with matcha) with oak milk. I took a sip of it. Very nice earthy matcha flavor with the sweet, creamy, and nutty flavor of ube. Great combination! My daughter got the honey bunny, espresso, mocha, wild flower, honey, and oat milk. Both drinks were great. Brigette had good customer service skills at the register! Store inside and outside very clean. Lots of room to sit inside and outside. The Barista lady was really nice too! She sings very well! This was a quick visit to take the drinks home. Came here to try the Ube POGI (Ube Matcha). A nice cozy place to enjoy coffee and other specialty drinks. Also a great place to study and hang out. Ordered the Ube Matcha. It was sweet and flavorful. I recently attended a Yelp event here and enjoyed the experience so I decided to stop in for a warm drink before my doctor appt around the corner. I love the vibe here, so cozy with nice background music playing, comfortable furniture, lots of seating if you want to study, and big windows bringing in lots of natural light. I saw that they have a calendar of events for the month which has some fun looking events. Their menu also looked really good with some interesting specialty drinks. Unfortunately their drink menus don't list prices of their specialty drinks and I didn't ask as I didn't think it would be too pricey. I ordered the hot Pogi (ube Matcha) with almond milk (only comes in small - 12oz) and a strawberry Nutella pastry. The pastry was delicious, the Pogi was ok. When I saw my receipt after the fact, my small Pogi costed $8.50. Yikes. I know they use high quality matcha, but still ... wow. I don't think it's worth it. read more

Great service. Staff is always so lively... sorta reminds me of Borders, Books and Cafe (pour a lil liqqa out) Ample space to study, read a book or just contemplate the days of analog life. I haven't tasted their baked items here but I have had a London Fog here and it was on point. Also features outdoor seating on the patio, which is great for a sunny day. What a downfall, Upland and LA locations closed, while the last remaining location here in Claremont no longer takes app orders, the espresso machine is broken, and the air conditioning is either off or broken on this very hot day. Baristas doing great work, but struggling to complete orders while the manager keeps asking them to re-arrange things. read more

Originally first came here for a Yelp event and then came back as an "official" customer. This is like the Trader Joe's of coffee houses. Admittedly, I was a little annoyed when the barista chatted it up with the customer in front of me, but mostly because I was running late (I know, I'm horrible). Then, like the hypocrite that I am, I spent even more time talking to him and letting him know how great the Yelp Event was and that I wanted to get the same drink they served at the event. The conversation was lovely and the drink was just as lovely. I'll never complain about waiting because 1) sometimes that conversation is needed and can make a huge difference--we never know what someone is going through, 2) we all need to slow down a little anyway, and 3) this is part of what sets Lucky's apart. Seeking a tattoo shop for H for her 18th bday gift, we found Jane's down the street from Lucky's. So, we were doubly lucky to see a second Lucky's location here in Claremont. Of course we just had to stop in. Next to a Kiddie's daycare we walked into a clean and cool new Lucky's location and were greeted by a friendly girl at the counter who genuinely asked what we were up to for the day. I ordered a latte for here and H ordered a cinnamon and honey latte at the suggestion of the girl helping us - she said something healthier and not so sweet but still sweet... haha. As we found a table adjacent to the main area, we noticed it was next to a large window where you can watch the roasting magic going on. I then promptly proceeded to pick up a bag of the Lucky Blend, seeing it was a 3x Golden Bean winner. My latte was absolutely perfect - the first sip of creamy and dense foam, steamed to perfection at just the right temp. The espresso was smooth, bold, and slightly buttery. Mmmm. So goood. H said, with a smile and a smirk, hers was kinda like a Spanish Latte but less sweet, just like she hoped for. Will definitely be back. Love that the side room is fairly quiet, cool, and spacious. I just came in for a Yelp event that had water color with coffee and a catered dinner. The coffee tasting offered the 3 types of coffee that were amazing to try. My favorite was the Wild Hare Blend that was satisfying to my taste buds. They mentioned that its origins are ethiopia and guatemala and it does not disappoint. I was happy to receive a complimentary bag and cup with saucer. I also had the joy of trying a unique taste of lavender matcha that the barista recommend I try;soooo good. We stopped by to hear the Jazz on Sunday close to Lucky. I went in and ordered a iced Americano. First time there, very nice , spacious place. I placed my order, then watched the three barista's do everything but start my drink. They were not busy. They could have literally had my drink made in a matter of a couple minutes. After about 10 minutes, I finally said something to the person that took my order. She said oh yeah, that they were working with the " small machine", but then promptly made my drink, which tells me they forgot. The drink was fine , but there are plenty other cafe's in the area that I like better, so most likely wont be back for a second visit. read more

Came for a coffee adventure to Claremont to try Lucky's Ande's Mint Latte. I'm sad I didn't come sooner to try this Christmas Latte Perfect mint to coffee ratio doesn't overpower the espresso. 10/10. REST IN PEACE UPLAND LUCKYS Came to the Claremont location for the first time to support the Upland crew after that location shut down. While I didn't recognize any of the workers, they all had that friendly disposition that I've come to associate with Lucky's. I ordered a hot apple chai, off their fall seasonal menu! I originally ordered it with whole milk, but as I was waiting for my drink, a kind employee asked if I'd be okay with oat milk instead since whole milk curdles in that particular drink. No problem, thanks for asking! He even complimented me on my sweater. The drink was perfectly spiced with that fragrant apple taste. Yummy! The inside of this location is way bigger than Upland, with tons of seating and parking spaces outside since it's located in a plaza. I will be back, and I hope to see some of the Upland crew here soon! read more

I have went to Lucky's before but my most recent visit was in venture of trying their ube renditions. Overall Lucky's, you won my taste buds. I am personally a coffee lover so I prefer the ube coffee to the matcha. Although, both are very nice combinations. The matcha is a bit on the sweeter side so if you don't like a more bitter flavor, then definitely try that out. What I like about their ube drinks is it doesn't taste like taro. It tastes like the ube yam like the one in ube bread from Valerios. If you come here to study, for me personally the vibes at the upland location are better for study. However the ones at the Claremont location are more like if you're doing a group project. I have been to several of Lucky's locations (Upland and . Montclair) and I like this one the best! Plenty of parking and space inside - it is a lot more comfortable. I have tried several drinks but I think the Ube Latte is my favorite and unlike any other coffee drink I've tried. I used to go in here unfortunately they don't pay attention to how we ask for specific things on the coffee. It's like u tell them but still they do what they want and it really sucks I have given them many chances on this and still have the audacity to give you attitude or to make you uncomfortable when you're confronting the situation like it's something simple how come it has to be that hard to explain every single time somebody goes in I'm not the only person that is going through this by the way, if I add on all the other experiences, it would look really bad but I don't wanna do that I'm giving them any opportunities like I mentioned but I'm kind of over it unfortunately I will be going to another coffee shop. Loved the cappuccino and the drip coffee we got, very tasty and beautiful beans! Their specialty coffees looked very interesting as well. Claremont has a number of fine coffee shops, and this is definitely among this special group. They roast their own beans. Coffee is smooth and delicious. If you like flavored lattes, they have unique house-made syrups that you don't see elsewhere (bergamot, etc). Flavored lattes are surprisingly not too sweet like most other places. Plenty of space to sit indoors or outdoors. Easy parking in a big lot. Definitely a place worth checking out. read more
