Barrage...is that you? Sorry, got caught up in a beer there for a moment. Let's rewind a sec and put things in motion, as Motion Craft Brewed likes to say on their social media pages. Back on February's Leap Day I had a chance to check out this brand new brew spot (with some buddies) in Massapequa and I was generally impressed. Okay, I'm not overly impressed with the interior of MCB. It's pretty tiny and feels like a few other small breweries on this lengthy island. But seriously, size does not matter. If you can brew a solid beer, I don't care if I have to stand in a broom closet; I'll be there. And Motion isn't THAT small. There's a handful of tables and some spots by the bar so it's not like you can't find a seat. Luckily, my two chums and I scored one table with enough chairs for 2/3 of us to sit. Good enough for me! But good does not make a five star review. Great, amazing, stupendous, superb. Those are the adjectives that get things going in the upper echelon of brewery reviews and so I'll try to throw a few of those into this next part. For starters, nine beers on tap is a superb (there's one!) amount of choices for any brewery. Better yet, if you're able to space out your variety, then I tip my cap to you, as Motion was able to do. A flight of four for $10 is a respectable price and despite it being a tad busy, they had a great (there's another!) system of filling out the flight sheet and standing in a specific spot for the flight to be obtained. It kept things moving quickly so we could get to drinking. What did we drink? Let's start with a hefeweizen (Boulevard Hefe) that checked off the style perfectly, as did their saison with honey and orange peel (My First Crush). Both brews did what they're supposed to do for their specific flavor profiles and I was glad to see, well taste, that. Their Motion Winter Warmer (a black lager) was also crisp and malty while 3-Hour Increments (IPA with citra and mosaic hops) had a smooth and mildly bitter finish. Big props to their s'mores porter (So Happy Together) as I had recently tried a beer of this style at another brewery and it fell flat on its face. This one had an amazing (there's another!) taste of the titled dessert and really made up for my own previous beer drinking failures. Still with me? If you got this far you might be wondering why I mentioned "Barrage" to start off this review. I'm still mourning the loss of one of my favorite LI breweries that absolutely rocked the land of dessert beers. One of them was Yada Yada Yada, a chocolate peanut brown ale that I have yet to find any brewery to make something even remotely close to its flavor...until my tastebuds came in contact with Straight Outta Vonka. This beer had me questioning whether or not Barrage had possibly sold their recipe to Motion as it was so close to the way Yada tasted. Hints of chocolate and a nice punch of nuttiness without it being too overpowering and definitely not loose or watery as some of these types come out. Needless to say, it was a stupendous beer and one I can't wait to retry (even if it makes me miss Barrage even more!). Overall, Motion Craft Brewed is a fabulous addition to the craft beer scene of Long Island. It's nothing entirely interesting to look at, but it's got a little hint of style to it with some friendly employees (did I mention it's diagonally across the street from The Good Life?) and, most importantly, a potent list of beers that should keep them growing for many years to come. Hey, they may not be able to completely replace the other brewery mentioned in this review (*sniffles*), but if they keep churning out beers as wonderful as these then there's always a chance!

Fabulous first time out to experience the Motion' of Memorial Day weekend finally, as I have been dying to try this location since it opened. I couldn't wait for COVID19 full restrictions to open up this location for regular service again when they are doing pickup/togo! So while in the neighborhood I had to finally pop in and support local business during these though times. Let's get real they are still too new not to survive summer tasting season. The tasty "My First Crush" saison wins off the bat! It's what a saison should be...crisp refreshing greatness! Can't wait till they are really open again to experience their full line in a flight!

Awesome selection of beers! Such interesting flavors, and they all tasted great. They also offer funky flavored wines, too. Nikki our bartender was great, such a positive personality. We will 100% be going back!

Cute little brewery in Massapequa Park Village. In fact, you could probably walk right past it not knowing it was a brewery. Went there earlier today. It was Saturday and the town was busy! They had a sign on the door about all COVID rules. In fact, they told us there were at minimum and asked us to wait outside for 10 min until some patrons left. Once inside they confined to adhere to Covid rules. Some people may find it annoying, but I don't mind it one bit. I appreciate seeing a business caring for the well being of their customers. But enough of that, let's get to what we went for. The beer, cider and mead. They had 10 items on tap. We liked every single thing we tried. Lots of seasons all fall things for us basic witches. We did a tasting each (4 for $10) and got a growler fill to go. Breweries are a dime a dozen on Long Island right now but I could see this one making a permanent home, and I hope the do! Well be back!

All I can say is WOW! Unbelievable craft beer produced out of Motion. Had a flight and each of the beers were incredibly smooth and full of flavor. Motion has it's brewing down to an exact science! First time I have ever had a pumpkin cider and it was everything I imagined plus more. The "Humble Pie" tastes just like everything it says is in it - caramel, apple pie, cider, and honey. Check out the white stout and pastry stout, and even the coquito, all delicious! Mead is also made there. Literally a 10/10 place, don't miss it!!!

Nice small local place with beers/ ciders and a mead. It is located on a strip next to the parking lot , which is very convenient. The bartender is super nice and funny. I personally enjoyed there cherry the hatchet mead , which had some tartness to it. My husband was drinking humble pie cider , that had a pinch of burned caramel after taste. An excellent place to enjoy music and a good drink Ps. If you order to go , they can it inform of you . Fresh fresh fresh

Small brewery with 10 beers on tap and 5 wine choices. Co-owner Chris is very friendly and is very inviting when you come in. The beer was great and the facility was super clean. This place will definitely make it.

Small taproom, very cozy, with ample parking in the back. These guys are doing both cider and beer, and from what I had, I am excited to see how they evolve over time. Staff is uber friendly and knowledgeable, and they have a nice blend of styles. They are a great addition to the Long Island craft beer community!.

I have tried almost all of their ciders and love tasting all the seasonal varieties on tap. Some of my favorites include the General George, Cider Donut, and Strawberry Lemonade. There's a bar inside and during peak months, a second bar is opened right outside the tasting room. There are two indoor bathrooms and a few porta-potties outside in the parking lot. They do not offer food on-site except for food trucks which are usually parked outside the tap room on weekends. You are allowed to bring your own food and I have even seen people set up for parties with a whole spread of snacks and treats. There is limited seating both inside and outside, so I strongly advise bringing lawn chairs. There's some picnic seating spread throughout the lawn, but it fills up quickly on a nice day. I love that they allow dogs as many of the wineries in the area do not. There's a bunch of lawn games available for kids and adults alike. They offer some 4 packs of cans and refillable growlers to take home. You can also find some of their ciders in local liquor stores. The parking lot fills up very quickly. The lot is a mix of dirt/gravel and can be a bit of a bumpy ride. Overall, a great day trip for families looking to relax outside on a nice day!

Burnt Mills Cider, located on US Route 206 in Bedminster in a beautifully restored farm building,…read moreoffers innovative house-made "flavor-forward" ciders made from locally-sourced apples, a cozy but comfortable indoor tasting room with oak paneling and wood furniture crafted from the trees cleared on-site during construction, and a family-friendly and dog-friendly outdoor space with picnic tables, fire pits, and cornhole games. Burnt Mills offers a range of sweet and dry fruit-forward ciders in 4 oz., 8 oz., and 16 oz. servings with 12 options on tap, including seasonal specialties available only for a limited time. Thankfully, you can sample several of them at a time by ordering a flight of four 4 oz. servings. On my most recent visit, I really enjoyed the General George (5.5% ABV), a balanced cider featuring tart black cherry rounded out by vanilla that's smooth and dangerously easy to drink, and the Friendsgiving 2025 (5.5% ABV), a holiday in a glass that is a complex blend of cranberries, orange peel, rosemary, honey, and cinnamon. YUM! I'm definitely excited to go back and try the other varieties on-tap, then grab a growler or cans to go. PRO TIP #1: Drive slowly in the parking lot. There's a large dip midway up the driveway from US Route 206 that could bottom out your vehicle. PRO TIP #2: Pack a picnic basket. While recent changes to New Jersey's previously draconian liquor laws have eased many restrictions on microbreweries and cideries, they still can't have full-service kitchens. Burnt Mills often hosts food trucks on the weekends (check their calendar!), but you'll want to pack your own snacks if you visit during the week. You can also bring your own food or order from local Bedminster/Far Hills restaurants via a delivery app!

It's tucked inside an old industrial park. If you're not looking closely, you'll drive right past it. Outside, there's a casual setup with a tent, whiskey barrel tables, and some umbrellas, which sounds nice in theory, but the grass really needed a cut. It kind of took away from the whole outdoor vibe. I was planning to sit out there, so that was a bit of a letdown. Inside was a pleasant surprise. It's much bigger than it looks from the outside. The bar is right at the entrance, which made it feel like a high-traffic zone, so not ideal for lingering. There was a private party in the main room, so I headed back outside to enjoy the sun. Now to the cider: I asked for 2 samples and ended up with the cider that I didn't actually choose, but hey, I'm not one to make a fuss so I went with it. The cider I wanted was actually pretty tasty, so I might return just to give the menu another try. You know how some ciders are sweet and yummy? The one I got was the kind that tastes sour but has a higher ABV. Still good, but my goal was sweet and yummy. Service was fine but not overly warm. Nothing bad, just not memorable. Would I go back? Sure, on a really nice day. If they had live music, I'd absolutely give it another shot. There's potential here, especially for cider fans, but it's not quite my go-to yet. They did have a very cool bathroom sink. Points for that!
